My First Attempt.

Well I've been reading on here for a while and I've decided to start my own grow. For right now im gonna be using 3 23 Watt CFL's and 1 30 Watt CFL. The package say's each of those 23 Watt CFl's put's out 1600 lumen's which time's 3 is 4800. The 30 Watt CFl put's out 1750 which all together = 6400.
I've decided to scale back from what I was orignally thinkin and start small. Maybe 1-2 plant's. I'm plannin on getting a 400 Watt HPS system for christmas but for right now will this set up work? I've got some seed's germinating and I've got 1 in soil already.
I'm picking up some more soil and stuff for a carbon filter from the How To-Carbon Filter thread tomorrow. I'll post pic's when ever i get my digital camera back. Any advice and suggestion's would be appreciated.

Ok, in a few mins im gonna post pics of me n my friend's outdoor grow. I only had time to get 1 of the 4 female's in since the sun set a lil earlier than I expected. Not to easy to be fumblin around in the wood's either. Im gonna keep 2 of the 4 at my place and he's keepin 2 at his. There really nice female's not sure when they will be done flowering cause I got them as clone's from some1 but I suspect they have a while to go.

Well, I don't know lol. It just does I guess. Im moving the biggest female in tomorrow so I'll post pic's of her aswell. I also added a 60 Watt CFL to the lighting.

Probably a good idea to reinforce the stem with something...Put a wooden pole i nthere and tie it to that...When that thing buds it will get hella top heavy and snap...Go get a wooden rod that's about the width of the stem maybe a lil bigger and either put it into the soil and tie the plant to it...or a safer way so as not to upset the roots..put 2 rods on outside opposing sides fo the pot and tie the plant to both...Or come up with something yourself..Im telli nyou tho reinforce that bitch or it will fall over when it buds.

Thank's! I've noticed a lil bit of top heavy in it already. I'll reinforce it in the mornin when I can find some rod's or somethin to use...hell..Im so damn bored now I might go out in the garage and have a look around lol.

Dude I always wander around my apartment and find useful junk...Like I didnt wanna lower my lights earlier on cause of my other plant...so I stacked spahgettio cans up and set it ontop of those..worked like a char..lol.

You could simply goto walmart and get those sticky adhesive backed shower hooks..stick em to the wall and then tie the plant to those...that would work and be much easier actually..

That's a good idea. I was actually thinkin about drillin a hole for a screw in the wall and tying it to that. But I just might use your idea!

YA I saw em today..apparently they can hold up to 2 lbs adeqautely and safely..so with 2 you should be fine..they like $3.69 for a 5 pack soo..

Apparently they leave no shit o nthe wall when you take em off to cause they are foam adhesive...

Im not to worried about the wall really lol. Im most likely gonna re-do my room in the summer anyway so an updated grow room will be in order. Im not using any fert's right now cause I just transplanted her, when/what type of fert's should I use on her?

Welll...I think your sposed to introduce ferts at 1/4 strength when its at or a little after its 5th node... your plant really only needs nutes for flowering now considering its...already flowering..I would go with foxfarms or try and find some organic nutes for flowering/blooming/fruiting whatever..

Your plants will get alot bigger thanks to the flowering and to the nutes if you introduce them now. Just remember not to add nutes before harvest....stop watering and adding ferts 2 weeks prior to harvest :-)

Thank's man. Im goin to Lowe's and Walmart tomorrow after I get paid. Im gonna buy some more soil and another pot for the female I plan on bringin in. I'll look around for nute's when Im at the store's.

Ya just loo karound on the forum for the right NPK for flowering as Im not to sure....but ya they'll have it at wal-mart..wal-mart has fuggin everything..Try and find organic nutes for flowering but they might not carry em in the right NPK..

the right NPK for flowering is low N highest P and i dont know about the K but there usually something like 5-50-10 or 8-43-8 ( just making it up ). she will fill out and fatten those buds so something to support is good.

Im gonna search around for the right NPK. IForGotAgain, I found one those hook's but it's the kind that screw into the wall. I turned my light's on this morning and she seem's to be takin the transplant well. I screwed the hook into the wall and used a shoestring, that's the only thing I could find except for fishing line. I thought the fishing line might cut into the stem? so I didn't use it. The shoestring isnt tied too tight. I can still slide it up n down the stem a lil. But it sure did straighten her up. I'll post pic's later on tonight specially if i bring that big female in.

Good call...fishing line woulda defiantely cut in and maybe even severed the plant if it leaned into it..shoestring is cushioned so your all good..

What you could always do is orde rthem online but it might take a bit longer to deliver then going to the store..at least you get what you want then tho...

I brought the other female in today. She looked really good when I got the first 1. Now she look's a lil beat up. Im not too sure if she'll make it really but a lil TLC and she should be fine (I hope). I took some pic's but can't post them yet cause I still have to upload them from my camera. A lil update on the first 1 I brought in. She's doin good, her bud's are getting frosty. Im excited to see how that lil thing come's out in the end. I had to add another shoestring for more support. I also added two more 23 watt CFL's and picked up some digital scale's but im having problem's calibrating it. For some reason Im just not too good with those thing's.

Lol...for flowering make sure you get red and yellwo spectrum Lights...not just daylight as they emit a more blue color spectrum which the plant uses for veg growth but not budding..Use a mixture of daylight bulbs and the yellow/red spectrum so you have full spectrum...

Reinforce the plant as much as you can so it can grow fat buds and be safe from fallign over.

For the beat up female...obviously there is n oabusive husband in the picture so I'm forced to conclude its heat stress, nute bern, or just natural yellowing...

Flush the plants with water and be sure to fert occassionally..not often and use 1/4 of the recommended strength then work your way up gradually.

Also watch temps to make sure it isn't to hot in there...

Possibly check your soil Ph as well.. Ideally should be at about 7 (nuetral)

Well I think the light's are soft white, pretty sure they all are. I really don't remember what I got lol. The temp's are good, well atleast I think they are it's not too hot in there. I'll pick a ph meter up sometime tonight. I added another 2 23 watt cfl's along with the rest there's now 9 light's all together. The one beat up female, her leave's are droopin pretty bad, I gave them a good watering but haven't found any nute's yet im still lookin. The first one I brought in is doin good, I notice a slight difference in her everday it seem's. I checked your log out, goodluck with your girl's n thank's for the help. I got your message but I wasn't home sorry. I also have a lil seedling that's popped up and doin good. I'll post my pic's later.

Well, just a lil update. I fucked the lighting schedule up this mornin and last night I hope there ok. The light's came on at 8 50 yesterday mornin and went off at 10 50 this mornin... :( and i turned them back on at 11 50 this mornin. I got really fucked up last night lol.

Yeah, it'll lead to all sorts of problems. Wal-mart, as evil as it is, has electronic and standard timers. Reg ones are pretty cheap, electronics are still in the $10 - $15 range.

Wally Worlds got a nice little manual timer for about 8 bucks. I bought 2 use one for the veg room and one for the flower room.
What strain are they? They look like a sativa maybe. Thats why they are growing so tall and thin.Should be a nice high.

As far as strain goes, I have absolutely no idea. I didn't ask really but I'll see if I can't find out. They have a real skunky smell to them. The smalles't one smelled like a real skunky kinda coffee smell this mornin?...I don't know lol. I picked up a timer so no more light problem's.

:stoned: Ok, 5 day's later and here are some updated pic's. I trimmed some fan leave's off the plant's to get some extra light in on the bud's. I gave them a small dose of miracle grow plant food a couple day's ago to. The smaller one's bud's seem to get bigger every day, can't wait til I can harvest that lil one. The first pic is of the two after gettin trimmed up. The second is of the biggest female's top cola, the rest are just random pic's.

So, I just got done inspecting my plant's like every morning when the light's come on. I noticed that on 1 of the bud's on the biggest female had a seed on it. I clipped that bud off and haven't found anymore yet but I'm still lookin. Maybe my light schedule being off track turned her hermie?..maybe the cold weather we had before I brought her in did it? :( I'm just not sure. Well im off for my wake n bake :stoned:.

So I sampled a bud that I've been dryin. I dryed it for almost 6 day's. It gave me a good head buzz and the smoke was smooth I can't wait til it's harvested :stoned:

The trichome's on the smallest female finally turned cloudy. I harvested it and am in the process of drying it now. I can't wait til I can smoke this shit :rasta: The biggest female is movin right along behind her lil sister and so far has had no more seed's that I've been able to find since I check it daily. The bigger female will definitely yeild more her bud's are gettin pretty fat, wish me luck as I finish this grow :thumbsup:.
