Every now and again I like to take my car out and push it to the limits. I know I shouldnt but it gives me a good adrenaline buzz, and is easier to do than other things which would do the same.
The fastest I have ever gone in a car was 120 Mph with just me in the car. I proberly would try to go faster but thats the top my car will do.
Whats the fastest you have ever traveled as a passenger or driver and share your stories of high speed.
Dont try this at home folks.
140mph, by the way even if the maximum on the speedo is 120 your car can do faster than that it just doesnt show it.

160 on the the Kansas turnpike in my gs 400. Got in a race with a BMW 750 . It was a incredible rush but I will probably never do it again.

On the open road the fastest with a bike was round 150 on a Dutch motorway between Leiden and Schipol Airport (Amsterdam) and the same there abouts on the Belgian motorway that goes past Antwerp on the way to Oostend.

Porsche Carrera turbo with my husband driving out in the hilly countryside of northeastern Oklahoma, almost to the Arkansas border. He got that thing up to 170 mph. He was going to tell anyone who stopped us that he had a medical emergency to get to, but no one stopped him. He once got a Lotus Europa to a higher speed than that on some sort of car track in Amarillo, Texas, but that was a place designed for cars and speed. I stood on the sidelines for that demonstration, thankfully.
Frankly, it was I who came close to being the medical emergency at those speeds in the Carrera. Former paramedics never do well at speeds like that. We've seen what can happen as a result. I was very glad when he slowed back down.

BTW most restrictions are done through the engine management system so it's a simple case of replacing a few electronic bits and pieces. different exhaust, bit of tuning and thats just for starters. lol

I got beaten by a volkswagen r32 today but i still hit 110, in my 2001 impala. completely stock except for flowmaster exhausts, dayton wire wheels, retuned computers (no governor) and a cold air filter along with a nice msd ignition i pulled out of the junkyard, it usually hits 60 in 6 seconds, that was at the end of third gear... highest ive ever gotten it to was 130 but that was almost pushing it, im sure it still had a thousand RPMS till redline (no tachometer)

fastest ive ever been is probably in my uncles (in his will for me :) :)) 2000 something viper srt-10 (new generation), he hit 170 on the jersey turnpike.
notable one is 150 in a modified old version volks beetle, on the jersey turnpike also coincidentally haha.
jersey turnpike is fun to go fast on haha
fucker got 0-60 in somethin like 4 1/2 seconds, crazy going that fast in one of those...
porsche is the only german car not in an agreement to limit their car at 155

120 in a car and 135 on my bike. I wasn't wearing gear on the bike or I would've gladly gone way faster. but I'll have to wait for a new bike now. I crashed the hell out of it the other day; broke the frame in half. I hit the ground at 70 scraping myself up pretty badly. But can't wait toheal up and get a new bike to hit that 170-185 mark.

dose the accelerated speed of getting ejected count as part of the speed? we were going about 110 before my buddy lost control hit the embankment slid on right side for who knows how long then flipped sideways(end to end). i was in the back seat, and ended up in a ditch, when i came to i saw this peace of shit car a couple 100 feet away from me and thought to myself " who's the fucking idiot who did that"! i tried to get up and my foot wouldn't work (dislocated and broken fibula) #2 on the injury list. the driver#3 had the car roll over his leg and broke a toe, passenger#1 fractured some neck bones and had a branch go straight through him missed vital organs, and a collapsed lung. he was air lifted out after walking to the house somehow, we just happen to crash about three, four blocks from the drivers house. there a shit load of details but i'm about to watch a movie, gangster #1, good movie everyone should check it out.

186mph... as a passenger in a race on the local pkwy, in a modified supra, 3 days before it was totaled when taking a sharp turn toooo fast..
that was def the most scariest thing, you feel everything, especially being the passenger in the car where you have no control.

120 in a P.O.S. 1995 car im not even sure what kind it was but my friend was driving and thought hed show off for this girl he picked up luckily we didnt crash or get pulled over

Yeah man I hate being the passenger when someone is doing high speeds in a car. I remeber one time I was in a car with someone who was pissed and he was doing 100-120 on these winding back roads. On one corner I felt the back tyres go, I thought I was going to die that night.Quote:

Them german autobahns are absolutely amazing for driving. So much freedom and space to drive. Drove past loads of cops at 140mph...they are so lax about the driving there? I think it's a bit like Amsterdam and weed.
