its the start of October and i recently planted four L.r2 in pots in my garage where they get about 2hrs of direct sunlight a day. they are growing slowly and are just on their second set of true leaves after 3 weeks. if i get enough for a few joints off each plant ill be happy but do u think i will even get this much??
You planted them a bit late m8 you be best just getting an envirolite or some type of fluorescent light just to make sure you get something from them.Ask weedmaster for some advice he has just grow some lowryder.

I too am a UK Lowryder 2 grower. Planted mine on the 22nd of August and am growing in a north facing (damn it) conservatory just using available light.
The great thing about LR's is that due to their auto flowering nature, as long as you can keep the plant alive (i.e. away from a hard frost, slugs, over/under watering etc) you will get something from them. The bad news is it probably won't be very much.
The drawback with LR's is the yield is very dependant on light, and as the nights here are drawing in your window of opportunity is somewhat limited, however if, as you say, you'd be happy with a few joints worth per plant, then I'm sure you'll be more than pleased with the result.
i think with the days getting shorter your going to strugle a bit, u've left it a bit late, by 3 weeks you should start seeing sighns of sex. over the last month i've noticed that the growth on mine was very slow, which i put down to shorter light periods and colder nights, like floyd said a light would really help you out, check out my 2 grow log links below in my signature to give you something to compare with. i wouldn't like to say what the results would be if you carried on as you are, as i was looking to finish in october, but what i've experienced over the last month i would definately be looking to rig at least a few cfl bulbs, or a couple of fluorecents up if i was you. best of luck hope you get a good result:thumbsup:
cheers lads. ye i think ill definitely be needing a light if im to get any bud off them. ive taken them out of the garage where they were getting some light from a skylight and window and put them in the garden with half a plastic bottle over each plant to act as a mini glasshouse. havent got the cash 4 flourescents at the mo but do u think if i bring them back in and turn on the normal white flourescent every evening this might prevent them budding and keep them alive til the spring???
i was also thinking if i get a male and a few ffeemales i might just pollinate them and sow the seed in spring. can u do that with lowryder?
I'm guessing you're about a minimum of 4 weeks away (realistically more) from getting to the point where you can get any bud from your plants, that's assuming of course that your able to keep them going as the cold nights draw in.
I'd be tempted to suggest bringing them indoors now and keeping them in a window sill so they don't get 'shocked' by the cold. It's not ideal but you could position a reading/table lamp over them at night to make up for the shortfall in light they're getting, that way you can keep them 'safe and warm' and fed with enough light to give you some sort of harvest later in the year. Hey, how about some nice xmas bud?
Assuming you've got a male to female spread of plants, there's no reason you can't let your lowryders pollinate and collect the seeds for a summer grow next year.

cheers flame. ive brought them in and have them on my window sill now. i was looking around for flourescents but theyre a bit out of my price range at the moment. i heard mercury vapour lamps are cheaper although less effective, do u know of any other cheap lights that would do the trick? ive only white flourescents which i was told will keep the plants alive but not encourage growth.and theres no possible way of keeping them in veg?
shot in the dark: is there any kind of flourescent, sodium....bulb that will connect into a normal desk lamp
what Flameon said about breeding seeds for the summer is a excellent idea.
lowryder will flower no matter how much light it is given, so with very small cfl(s) or outside in winter it won't flourish as it's nature is to be subjected to light the large majority of the time. So early summer and through summer outdoors is a great time to do them.
try and breed over the winter and hit it bigger in the summer :)
you can get cfl bulbs from b&q homebase even sainsbury but look around the prices vary, B&Q £5-£6 but if you look around you will get much much cheeper. 6500k veg 2600k flower i think thats correct but check in the lighting forum,as i'm a bit stoned at the mo and the brain isn't working too good so best to double check.

right, cahnge of plan, fuck the lowryders. ive got a friend/investor whos going to give me 250 quid to get set up in return for half the weed i grow. im going to set up in the loft space of my garage. its judt sbout six foot high athe highest point and im going to section off half the space. seedswise, im sick of the indica stone but i dont suppose anyone knows a high yielding, low growing sativa??
the only worries i have are
1. the rise in the power billl might arouse suspicion
2. the garage might start stinkin after a while
3. would frost effect the garage?
i really appreciate the advice lads, without u ill be stuck smokin soap bar and sandy weed for ever:thumbsup:

£250 for half of everything you grow sounds like your mate is getting a right result. so your going to need to buy materials to section of part of the garage, a couple of fans lights, soil ferts for veg and ferts for flower, mylar or paint and beans, i think you need to do alot of research befor you start this project, with £250 you could have a great little setup, but don't rush into it you need to do your homework properly, best of luck.
well maybe that ''half of everything'' will be negotiated + he thinks im just goin to grow 10 plants wheras im gointo shove plants into every swuare inch of space so he'll be happy with 2-3 oz. Ye im thinking a 400w envirolite, im going to sheet out the attic with ply, section it off with that black plastic stuff, available in B&Q ?????. going to buy one of those rotating fans, i have pots and compost but im not sure of the proper soil mix 4 growin weed. will i need an extractor fan?? cos the area is fairly well vented ( maybe a bit 2 much? oh ye whats the deal with blue/red spectrum bulbs and all that malarkey? is it ok to just use blue spectrum?? the attic is not insulated but theres rarely outdoor temps below -2C so the attic temp shouldnt go below 0 especially wit the heat off the light. well do u think im on the right track?? all advice greatly appreciated:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::D:rasta:

ye i knew one was for veg and one was for flowering i just wasnt sure which was which. Ill have an oscillating fan for air circulation but as far as constantly supplying fresh air , air is coming in from the eves but what would anyone suggest for a fresh air supply? apart from that i cant see any flaws with the ideas

get 2 x 1000w hps, or a few 600w depending on how much space there is. regular soil and perlite is decent enough. if just one 400w enviro don't expect 2-3oz to be half of anything
i had a good chat with this really sound bloke in my local grow shop and he suggested a 600w hobby kit (â?¬225) 600w bulb for flowering (â?¬65), Bio-bizz(â?¬20 for 50L) Nutes A&B, (forget the name but â?¬40 for both), Mylar(â?¬4.50 sq.m) Black and white plastic(â?¬3 sq.m) and inline fan (â?¬95). All my research might be for nothing though, i was chattin to a chap on the bus and he said his mate (whos from the same town) got busted with 13 plants in an atic from infra-red on a copper-chopper. My garage is uninsulated but even if i did inulate it would it do jack shit to stop them spotting the heat??
the answer to this question will determine if I do or dont tie a large boulder to my leg and jump off a bridge so please, please gimme some good news.
Also can anyone suggest ways to get these materials cheaper or make home-made alternatives to some of them
Loft grows are a high risk op.
A continual grow cycle in there is obviously even higher risk.
You could grow 6 months out of the year in 2 month installments if you went with the lowryder. 9 weeks to finish from seed, you could maybe SOG them. Either way you could get alot in smaller spacer, and could be looking at nice yields if the conditions are perfect.
The only downside to LR would be the 18/6 light cycle. If you were to do other plants though, you're looking at an 18/6 cycle for not much less than the same amount of time anyway.
9 weeks growing, 7 weeks off.
Besides that, how often do you see helicopters fly over your house? Never mind a police helicopter? Just don't draw attention to your property at all, so the police will have no interest. (E.g don't deal from it.)
EDIT* just a tip, it's debatable which is better, white walls or mylar.
also pay only in cash in the grow shop.
ye i see what your saying, lowryders are tempting from a speed point of view but they cant be cloned and i dont want to be buying seeds every 9 weeks. im ldefinitely looking for a continual grow cycle but my only worry is the thermal sensors. browsing around there, ppl say 2 layers of foil back plasterboard will kep the heat in so i might go for that. instead of mylar ill just paint the gable wall white and use black and white plastic to enclose the area. and do i really need bio-bizz or could i just make up my on mix with 80compost 20 vermic.?
those are very expensive prices, look on ebay or online retailers. you can't clone lowryders but you can grow them easily for seed. but lowryders are really for people with fuck all space, you'll do better just flowering early a stronger strain.
if you're really paranoid about heat censors and such, flourescent grows can be really successful
i've grown some really nice plants with just multi-purpose compost + perlite, with nutrients

no we were just talkin about drugs in general and he brought it up. i didnt mention anything about my grow. I decided to go for a 400w and put a aboard of thick fireproof insulation overhead. havent got much height up there so im going to go for AK48 and just flower them early
