Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
Almost everyday and especially when I toke sometimes I marvel at the fact humans developed imagination and the benevolent force that is existence. Its so mysterious and so intangible that god and heaven would be the worst anti-climax I could think of.
If I died and the answer to everything was as boring as god made us I would shoot myself but I couldn't, because im stuck in plain old heaven. Then Id be stuck with an unbecoming bullet hole in my head for eternity.

It's better than being stuck with your arms, and, legs chopped off.

Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
-id like to think you get a new life with no memory of your previous one(reincarnation)
-or you dream about everything in your life in death
-or maybe like 'six feet under' show said endless sleep forever and ever
heaven and hell are somewhat bogus ideas but the concepts of morality, good and evil to degrees are reputable, i think

Earth is the insane asylum for souls. We get too bored, flip out, and jump into a body! Then we have a little excitement, die, and the cycle starts all over again! LOL- Granny

also if we believed in heavean we would have to live good god fearing lives.
fuck that for a laugh!

I used to have the same attitude when I was a child. I recall telling my dad that I wanted to go to hell because that is where the party was at. His reply was "Ya know what hell is? That's where the tops of the bottles and the bottoms of the girls are all corked up".
Seems that heaven would be the better place to party.:D
Have a good one!

If you don't want and choose to go, then you won't. That being said, let us live in a community of cohesion and peace.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing us he doesn't exist."
My Granny used to say that all the time....she also told me that God comes to us in the form that we can best accept him. It might be Jesus for me, and Allah for someone else. In the end we won't find out 'till we get there. Anybody ever see the movie "Defending Your Life"? I think heaven is a little something like that....

Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
if you dont want to go to heaven then there is an alternate route.......

Heaven is for those who are afraid of death.

Heaven is a possibility, and, all possibilities have to be named. Being reincarnated could be Heaven, to some, while rotting could be others. You're not born afraid of death.

Wow... I'm new... This is a freaky thread... "You're not born afraid of death"... you're also not born potty trained, I guess ;)
I strongly support everyone's ideas... mine however, tend towards understanding quantum physics... Stephen Hawking (who is at best, only in the top 10 geniuses of our time) said that when we discover the origin of the "Big Bang" we would be "looking into the eyes of God".

all christians go to heaven, racists, murderers, rapists, child molesters. all they need do is beg forgiveness and ask for absolution, and bingo the pearly gates await them. assuming you were talking about the christian heaven.

Howdy anun,
Yer wrong..first a Christian has to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and as the only begotten Son of God. :)
In fact--no one can enter Heaven, unless they accept Jesus Christ.
For those who desire Hell..that's just what they'll git..and they will be the 'life' of the party too..it just won't be any fun,cuz you'll be on the recieving end.
Have a good one ...

exactly what i'm talking about, that racist, murderer, rapist, child molester finds and accepts jesus he's welcomed.

That's why I simply believe in no god :)
I'm free to do what I will, and because I don't believe in a heaven or a hell, I don't have the eternal threat of damnation for 'sinning,' nor do I have to answer to some ambiguous father-figure in the sky who shakes a fist at me whenever I do something that is simple human nature. God will strike ye down into the eternal flames of Hell if you happen to disagree with him about the nature of sin, but he loves you. And he needs your money.

So, just so that I'm sure Torog, image reaper and to a certain extent, anun...my Buddhist, Islamic, Indian and Jewish friends aren't welcome in the "Christian" version of the afterlife... (unless as Anun says they accept Jesus)...
Considering those faiths outnumber Christians 5 to 1, your heaven seems a little threadbare.
You do understand that Islam, Judaism and Christianity all believe in the same God. Their differences come in the form of their "prophets" which are literally personified by human males (or in the case of Judaism, has yet to be personified). So basically, God's absoluteness is interpreted by man and therefore only those that believe what your man says will gain acceptance into (the perceived all loving) God's heaven?
May I suggest a certain level of tolerance, humility and acceptance that while you may not be wrong for yourself, you may not be right about others.
If nothing else, I hope this forum allows for your mind to be open.
David

well 1 of the greatest things god ever gave us was a thing called forgiveness.
ps although i don't care for the priest's either, and the 1 thing i hate the most is a child moleste,r as i think they all should be hung up by there nutz till they almost die, then take them down nurse them back to health then do it all over again. over and over till they die but thats me.either that or just hand them over to michael jackson.

Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
my only wish, is that if afterlife is real (which includes heaven/hell) i GET to walk the earth for eternity...
that is honestly what i'd want... to become a ghost and get to watch earth.... watch people, watch evolution, until the end....
but it brings a question to mind.... i mean, i really don't think spirits are tied to earth (as in when earth did die, it wouldn't mean spirits did as well) so... what would spirits do if a meteor just shattered earth? float around in space forever?
-
Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
Maybe, all the time you spend "not believing", or, committing sins, is spent in purgatory. At least, Heaven could still be the end result. How much havoc could one commit in seventy-plus years, when havoc has been created throughout history?
-
Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
theirs a test that tells you what level of the christian hell you'll be going to when you die, if your a sinner. i'm not comp. literate so the site is [dante's inferno test] google. i'll be tortured in the city of dis.

I have doubts we go anywhere after our body dies!
Why would God whatever he or she maybe formed as
why would you be smarter after you die?
heaven is here
Things from heaven are dropped right smack dab in front of us for the takin
then the government takes it all away and puts a price on it, jmho
why cant they find an end to the ocean floor, in some parts?
Why cant they find an end to the galaxy?
Do we just recycle ourself?
What blows my mind is the Sun and moon! imagine the stories they could tell! What keeps them going?

I dont know what christians are gonna be doing in their 'land of milk and honey' for eternity.
I mean can you imagine existing for 100,000.000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000 years?
In mathematical terms, you havent even begun eternity.

I think Quantum physics can go to some extent to make sense of how karmic reincarnation could work.
Religion has done nothing but suppress the secret powers of consciousness for centuries.

It's a cool thing to think about since nobody can truly say what happens...I'd hate to think you just shut down...finito. I thought I was dead this morning...cause I had such a vivid dream, I was shot then woke up staring at this plain blue wall. I'd be drinking a bit and was staying at my friends...i'd never seen the room I slept in sober so I freaked out a bit. :hippy:
Ah...I hate thinking about "the afterlife"...it makes me too curious(if not a little excited) to see what happens. Give me a cool montage of my life and ill be happy.
Personally I dont want to start life again as somebody else...I like who I am...

Believing in heaven would be an epic bummer
The things that I would 'love to happen and be true' are the things that sadly make little sense, I would enjoy heaven for the first 100,000 years yet after what would be the point in going on?
100,000 years of experience is a lot of experience
If reality, experience and love is a meal... Then im full.
Remember.. 100,000 years compared to an eternity is like comparing an atomic nucleus to the size of every outer universe in existence and whatever these universes reside in.
Its impossible to comprehend.
And imagine how much other life is out there, we as humans have been on this planet for a very short amount of time compared to the existence of earth itself.
I think we've been here for something like 0.5% - 1% of the time since the earth was formed. (Dont quote me on this figure).
