Why do you get high?

During a little smoke session today, me and some buddies got wondering, why do we smoke like we do. Ive been smoking since the 8th grade, and it has made a major impact on my life. All for the good of course, minus the thousands of dollars its made me spend. Its made me more social, more intellectual, more fun, I just feel like a better person. If I dont have some of my daily medicine, i just dont feel I run as smooth through out the day. Its the oil for my creaky gears.

So I guess the reason I get high, is it just makes the day so much better.

Weed certainly has made me a better person. I used to smoke because of that. Now, I do not think I have much more I can discover about myself through weed, so that's out.

Ok, I got it. I smoke, because I want to bond with the people I smoke with, and this is the best way to do it.

overall just an enjoyable experience resulting in good friends happiness and a better state of mind..

Today I bumped in to this girl I went to class with last year. I looked at her Facebook. She writes "I don't like people who need alcohol or weed to have fun." I am not one of those people, but she has a point.

What I'm saying here is that I do not want to "need" weed. But, based on the reason I smoke I'm on a bad path.


I think I might take a break.

I get high as a side-effect...from this wonderful panacea (in my case).

Maybe you dont really need a break. Do you really need to be high to have fun. I know I dont, but thats just me. I just makes everything more fun.

Because i enjoy it, thus happiness is a key fundamental part of life and in some people's opinion, the most important aspect of all.

Originally I smoked because it was new and intrigueing. Now I smoke to unwind after work or interact with friends, but mainly to explore myself and the world with a fresh, clear perspective. Marijuana and its culture is wondrous and vast, with something new always to be discovered. For those tired of smoking, try taking a break and beginning a grow of your own. The buds of your labor are well worth it.

i already don't like this girl. she doesn't have a point. a statement like that is meant to bolster her image aaaand thats it. it doesn't offer any support to people who do abuse alcohol or mj to any degree. shes already alienated me by brashly spewing such an opinion without cluing me in as to why. a quick 'because my dads an alcoholic' or 'because my mom blew my gerber baby food money on the sticky' would make me more sympathetic. is it any of my business? normally no, but now that she waged public war on my precious green it sure as hell is.

if she had given a reason (and yes i feel like i deserve a reason why someone doesn't like my beloved mj, damnit) then alright, i respect that i guess. but don't put down things i enjoy just because it makes you look better to the corporate goombas that happen across your myspace while they scrutinize you as a person based on a piece of paper with wherever university you slutted out at and some past crappy jobs on it.

and whatever happened to people quietly believing in whatever they wanted to believe in WITHOUT involving literally every other living organism they've ever encountered? so you don't like alcohol or pot... thats wonderful, but the one trillion randoms in your 'social network' consisting of strangers you only know from the internet or that you met like three times at parties don't need to get their recreations bashed so you look better to your mom who stalks your facebook from your sisters' account.

She is actually saying that she does like people that need alcohol or weed to have fun. She's not one of the people that hate them, so it's all good.

First it helps to relieve my joint pains also have nerological damage to my right hip so it feels like its on fire all the time .Second it has a mellowing effect that i like when i watch movies or listen to music also great for playing video games!
