So I am on my 13th grow and ever since I started growin about 6 years ago I have never gotten a male bagseed plant from any of the 100s of bagseeds I have collected over the years.
so is this just good luck or something else.

I would say luck combined with germinating/growing conditions being better oriented towards female tendencies.
I would say luck personally, because I've heard of people buying a bag of feminized seeds and still getting 1 male. But have no doubt, you are also giving your plants optimum growing conditions. Good job.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!! :D ... I've been called a liar for years regarding that ... I've grown for 40+ years, and until last year, I had only gotten TWO males in all those grows (cabinet grows, usually 6 plants at a time, ALL bagseeds) ... CONGRATULATIONS !! ... we belong to an exclusive club, I guess :jointsmile:Quote:

Simple.
Bagseeds arelikely to produce females because commercial growers aren't keeping males around to pollinate, and any pollen present is coming from a hermaphrodite female = XX not XY.
There's no Y chromosome and no way to get a male.
Great point Stinky.... Mendellian genetics 101.
Sorry about the double post, browsers acting up.
I think the only bad thing about lacking the Y chrom. is any of the good male only traits that come with it won't be inherited.
sex-linked FTW
your wish is my command....
omg thats incredible, 4 out of my 5 bagseeds this year were male

About the bagseed odds Turtlez, I had the same odds on some sativa bagseed now @ 10 weeks. Still have three to wait and see about, might be 7/8 males, worst case scenario.
I was thinking that too. I've grown nothing but bag seed, and have nothing but fems. I've always waited to see the hermie pop out though. If all of my bag seed has seeds, and gives me nothing but females, then something is wrong there, and i'm sure the female flowers were not hermed by a chemical method. Stress Stress Stress. Be watchful of your bagseed, but thankful that you got some femized seeds by nature. :hippy:
