i have white flys need help please
i definetely have white flys- just shook a plant a they were everywhere- 7 weeks into flower on a sative- found small buds that are dying - how do i get rid of pest this late in flower- man have I had a lot of pest this season-Rhizome are you out there?

OK- that's how you diagnose whitefly.
Safer will kill adults, crawlers, and is safe up to harvest. You must spray the bottom of the leaves.
Little late for Neem, but it'll work if you don't mind the taste.
Don't know how you feel about pyrethrins llate in flower, but they'll work.
If you're going to spray this late, it's important to take pre-emptive meaures to prevent fungus- sulfer vape, subtillus, etc. Time your sprays so that you're spraying dry plants, which will completely dry again before nightfall/temp drop.
WF are attracted to sticky yellow cards- surprisingly effective.
At 7 weeks, you may not be able to eliminate before harvest.

7 weeks on a sativa, do you know total flower time? If it's 10 or more, I'd feel comfortable using pyrethrin, but like TODAY.

if u dilute rubbing allcohol ratio 1:1 in water it will eliminate white flys

A nonpolar solvent if applied to the point of runoff will damage the waxy cuticle of the plant, leaving it even more vulnerable to pest damage. It's like you've already peeled the orange for their convenience.

Miss Stinky- the strain is willie nelson i grew some last year and at 10 weeks little amber to trichs so i have time for pyrenthian- i live in the boonies and can only locate a pyrenthian dust can I turn it into a solution for spray

Alcohol is polar though...
i have white flys need help please
From Wikipedia:
"The ethanol molecule has a hydrophilic OH group that helps it dissolve polar molecules and ionic substances. Additionally, ethanol's short, hydrophobic hydrocarbon chain can attract non-polar molecules. Thus ethanol can dissolve both polar and non-polar substances."
It can function as a nonpolar solvent even though it is in fact slightly polar.

I thought he said something about isopropanol. Isopropanol and ethanol are quite different, with isopropanol being the most polar (as it is the simplest) of the secondary alcohols. You are correct about alcohols exhibiting characteristic of nonpolar solvents, but it is still considered a polar, protic solvent. That's one of the coolest things about alcohols, that they can act as either a polar or nonpolar solvent, or even both at the same time. Ever try to mix oil and water? Throw some alcohol in the mixture and watch it all become miscible.
Not sure if this is useful to anyone, but I always figure the more information, the better :) "The more you know" (insert cheesy NBC music here)

Oh I'm such a goof, I just saw 'alcohol' and assumed for some reason he was gonna be making a vodka spray, lol!!!! HAHAHAHHA
Believe me I spend many hours a day playing with the properties of polar, nonpolar, and those funky inbetween solvents- today my project is to do a liquid-liquid PCB extraction whcih involves taking advantage of the different solubilities of the PCBs, their metabolites, and contaminant compounds to purify the target compound group.
Yay, hexane...

Well then, you and I both are solvent freaks, CHEERS TO YOU! Personally, I feel that there isn't much in the world as exciting, interesting, and surprising as chemistry; some other physics fields come close... but not close enough (I'm a big nerd if you can't figure that out from the previous sentences).

actually liqure works well for controlling some pests i duno about vodka but beer lol i used strawberry shnaps this summer killed the pests on my plants n a whole bunch of wasps i dont know if it would work for those flies but its a glass trap that hangs on a metal pole u stick in the dirt the insects fly in drink the sweet sugary liqure cant get out n they drown n die worked awsome for me pretty fast too n u dont gotta spray ur plant with anything just an idea give it a shot if u want lol peace

I was lucky and found some safer product- unable to find a pyrethrin this late in season- used safer 2 days ago and immediately noticed decline in adult white flys - this AM looked at infested garden , with backlight- this lighting helps see the tiny flies- saw a few will spray again in 2 more days- I was surprised that only an hour after application there was no smell of product at all- hopefully I will be able to eliminate completely next application

Wow, goes to show you how life experience influences vocabulary- "solvent freak" to me means something completely different, and hardly complimentary....:wtf:
Nice to know there are chemists on board... I'm just a farmer...
Y'all know that ya WILL be consulted, right?

Stinky....get your mind out of the bar....:D
Rhizome......I won't even go there. ;)
