to halo or not to halo that is the ? lol

my main problem with halo is it's so unrealistic, i played for a few hours yesterday, and man it's ok at best. i mean my biggest gripe is u can unload 2 clips into sumone, and it does'nt kill them. it takes alot of rounds to kill them unless u get a head shot, and even then sometimes it takes a couple shots. but yet i can unload 100 rounds into sumone and they can still walk up to me and hit me with the butt of there gun and kill me, lmfao. thats the lamest fucking thing iv'e ever seen, lets see my shield can protect me from nads,lead,plasma but thats nothing compared to the butt of a gun???? am i missing something here??

It was probably a BxR.

One of my main gripes with halo has and always will be the shild system, it's wack imo, if you shoot someone in the head, they should die. Regardless, i shall venture forth on my challenge of smoking my challice and conquering the online world of halo from my comfy chair.

guys on halo was telling me the reason why is because when someone gets close enough the shield will turn off lol yea that makes alot of sense....

Your shield doesnt turn off, melee combat is made more powerful in the game so that some one dies quickly when you get up close.

It makes alot of sense and if you dont like halo stop wasting your time talking about it. I dont like my PS3 but you dont see me starting topics about the crappy system.

ur full of crap dude, if u get hit 100 times with any gun in the game, ur dead, u probably just miss 90 out of those hundred shots. And u will most definatly die when u get hit with a grenade, or get shot enough with any gun. The reason the melee
is so powerful is so that if ur right next to someone and u dont have a short range weapon like the sword or shotgun or something, you arent completely screwed. And also, get this, YOU CAN MELEE TOO, its not like its a one sided thing. Stop criticizing a game just because you cant play it well.:mad:

halo 3 is mad fun

i played 1v1 with my friend who is a vet with the console fps' and the score was 4-8 him.

i sticky bombed him once and shot him twice with the default gun and sniped him once...granted hes more skilled than i am but im used to cs on pc using a keyboard and mouse( props to the ^ cs comment)

i like to try new things and i can really see myself enjoying using a controller playing halo and getting better and better, enjoying each death i escape and each kill i tough out rather than just getting fed up and quitting because i died a few times and didnt at first grasp the flow of the game the damage the physics etc.

i think if you like fps in general you should like all the halo games.

u seem to have miss understood me, just because i point out all the lame stuff this game is about, don't mean im not good at it i do the very thing that im talking about. im just saying it's lame and in no way close to say,a game like rb6 as if u get the jump on someone there pretty much dead. u know like in real life i think it is way unfair to run up behind someone shoot the fuck out of the back of there head as u can tell u hit them as u can see there shield change color then they turn around and melee u. it happens to me and i do it as well. i just think it takes away from the people that really have skill out there. and ur telling a lie if u are saying it don't take a ton of rounds to kill someone. btw u can think what u want im just pointing out the neg of the online game. the offline is allright short but good enough to play through.and online other than what i said about it, it would be a great game other than the fact the way they have it set up to pretty much run and gun the whole time nothing more.

i have yet to host a match so i don't know i let my friend host all the time but he can't fig out how to change the weapons for the maps he just picks a map and it says shotguns and snipers on most of the games we play so is there a way to change this ? i mean we have play with others weapons but it's just what ever comes with the map is there a way around this??

All i have to say about all the halo haters is, Whats the highest selling US game ever on the day of the launch? Whats the most widely played online console game in the world right now? And whats the biggest system seller game.

You can find all the problems you want with this game love it or hate it, its the hottest game out right now and stats speak for it. Just like WOW is the hottest game on the pc right now and its nothing anyone can do about it. So find everything you want to find wrong with this game all i know is the stats will speak for it.

So to all of you ps3 lovers i hope you actually get a game thats worth playing sometime in the near future. When you do let me know so i can wipe the dust off of mines to finally play it. Also lets hope that they can actually have an online game that doest lag to hell with over 10 people playing!

haha.. personally i couldn't give a fuck that halo's the best seller out just now.. its still no better than any average fps imo, and its defiantly not better than gow and r6v.
dont worry about your ps3.. youll appreciate it a lot more next year.

I can't speak of r6v, but GoW has nothing on Halo, except graphics, but even then GoW areas are MUCH MUCH smaller in scope/scale than Halo 3's vast battlefields and there is often times less action actually taking place than happens at any given skirmish in GoW in comparison to the on screen action going on in H3 and H3 suffers no slowdown. GoW is a decent game but it's got far far less. The storyline in GoW is practically non existent, meanwhile I personally wanted Halo 3 because I was dying to know how the story ends. If GoW II comes out I doubt anyone will be wanting it to find out what happens in the story line...

GoWs gameplay is fun but insanely simplistic and overly straight forward. Halo 3's single player campaign is longer than GoWs and more varied with various ways to approach every battle always several largely different tactics to use in any skirmish. Seriously GoW is so damn short when I beat it I felt kinda ripped off. Not worth $60 damn bucks for those few short hours. You put both on their hardest difficulty and Halo 3 is FAR FAR more challenging, I've beat H3 on Heroic mode and now on Legendary and Legendary is whooping my ass. GoW has it's moments but it's a cake walk in comparison and don't get me started on multiplayer which is H3's main selling point. H3 laughs at the futile attempt of Epics in this area for sure. Halo 3 is now THE mutliplayer game of choice on consoles right now and will remain so at least until Unreal III comes and even then H3 may or may not still be on top.

GoW is a good game I own it, I love it and I will look forward to seeing a sequel if they expand upon their first games idea. Though if they want to impress me they will need to have a longer single player campaign and actually give us a storyline to work with if they want me to plop down another $60. Though with the crap Epic has pulled with Silicon Knights and other small developers regarding their U3 engine I may be boycotting them in the future anyways.

Bottom line is unless you are so shallow in your gaming that the only thing that matters to you is superior graphics I can hardly see how anyone could actually with a straight face say GoW is better than H3. I think currently the only next gen gaming shooter than beats H3 (on single player aspect only) is Bioshock.

Saying you want realism in a game that is based around pure and utter science fiction does indeed make you a "fucking moron".

You want realism go play a fucking CoD game, though even then.. I don't remember medics with magical needles being in WWII but hey it's close enough right.

I prefer rainbow 6 vegas or socom, you shoot people, they die. There's nothing wrong with preferring realistic shooter as opposed to non realistic (halo)

Of course it is super unrealistic... But you are so stupid to have started playing halo at HALO 3. Of course you're gonna hate it, cuz you missing the point of the game. It's about immersing yourself into the character Masterchief from the campaign in HALO 1 2 and 3.
I'd say the multiplayer is pretty awsome too. I'm saying this as a person who's been a PC game all my life. Mouse + Keyboard forever...

My friend, who was a big halo 1 and 2 fan, had his birthday on Tuesday, the same day HALO3 came out. That morning I got up early and bought him HALO3 and when he woke up it was there waiting for him to play.

Since that I have played Halo 3 with many of my friends. I'd say it is an awsome game. I really love all split screen multiplayer and co-op in it. It adds so much to the game and lets you really bond with the person you are playing with.

A game which belongs remembered next to games such as:
GTA3
Counter-Strike

The assault rifle blows, end of.

Gta4 will outsell Halo 3.
