Just found this, it seems like a crazy idea, but then again i feel its better than firing off a couple M-16 rounds into a group of people. This machine sends out 95 GHz millimeter waves, that penetrate a 64th of inch beneath the skin, where the most nerve receptors are concentrated. Its said to cause no long term affects but a bad memory of the pain. Its amazing what military technology can be made.

yeah, cops are given the chance when they get the tazers to be tazed and feel the affects, Im guessing most of them dont..

I watched a Bloopers show one time where the cops were training on tazers. If I recall it was mandatory that they got zapped. LOL....the one shooting forgot about a 15 degree drop of the prongs and hit his partner in the nuts! He started laughing so hard his friend on the floor got a few extra zaps.Quote:

She kind of deserved it. I certainly wouldn't have tasered her for that, but the cop was within the limits of the law, until he tazed her the second time. Your muscles lock up for about a minute so she literally could not turn over. Pigs make me sick sometimes. It's especially sad because there are good cops out there they are just few and far between. Most cops nowadays don't want to put any effort into their job. And she DEFINITELY didn't "take a swing" at anyone. This is a case where I'm not sure though. anybody got any takes on it?

It causes PAIN, and a lot of it- That wavelength is very similar to a feeling of someone slapping a 2nd degree sunburn on your back. I like how they say it protects civilians and deters armed insurgents...
HOW THE HELL CAN THEY TELL WHICH IS WHICH? And with a larger range, chances are you're gonna get a lot of innocent civilians as well... Good idea in theory, but it's too costly to have any significant impact on the armed insurgents because it's not selective enough, and there are probably ways to destroy a big wide target like that.
The point of the weapon is that it is non lethal and if there is a group of people with insurgents mixed in, they can fire on the entire group not worrying about any casualties and sort the bad guys out after everyone is detained.Quote:

If the military would stop spending insane amounts of money on lumbering cumbersome limited-use technology, and use it for greater soldier's salaries, better healthcare for troops, and phasing soldiers out of Iraq, I wouldn't be as pissed.
that ray is fucked up. but in theory whilst it does cause pain. pain is just the receptors signiallng to the brain. so in theory on some one had trained themselves to not acknowledge the pain it wouldn't work.
this isnt your average irai civilian or insurgent but it could be done i guess. its still fucking wrong. the military shouldnt be coming up with new weapons. but instead trying to rebuild something in the country they have raped.
or just get the fukc outta there.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of time and money that is thrown into scientific research for the development of technology that is designed to hurt and cause pain to our fellow human beings, yes it is amazing in that respect. Think what that money could be used for elsewhere.

i think they did this before, they were experimenting with sound in the 60/70's, they were called pain field generators i think. they were going to use them for crowd control (it was the time). i think the english bobby's used them on a riot and it failed, could not focus the direction of the sound wave.
Personally I'm still a fan of that old standby.....the flame-thrower. ;)
