Email I received from Ron Paul on Marijuana
Dear Jason:
Thank you for taking the time to contact my office regarding marijuana. As a medical doctor, I have a particular interest in this issue. Please be assured, I will oppose any and all attempts to use federal power to prevent the people of any state from adopting laws legalizing the use of medical marijuana. I also oppose the use of federal funds to finance the "drug war," and particularly the outrageous attacks on those who use marijuana for medical reasons.
I think it is important to emphasize that the federal government has no constitutional authority to intervene in or regulate the medical or drug industries. Moreover, the federal government is prohibited by the Constitution (via the ninth and tenth amendments) from meddling in doctor/patient relationships. With that understanding, I can certainly agree that medical marijuana researchers and drug companies alike should receive "equal and fair treatment" from the federal government. Additionally, I would agree that there should be no federal ban on medical studies. This is why I am an original cosponsor of the States' Rights to Medical Marijuana Act, which restores the ability to make decisions about medical marijuana to the states. I have also cosponsored and voted for the Hinchey-Rohrabacher amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and State Appropriations Act that would defund federal prosecutions that violate the medical marijuana laws that states have enacted. In addition, I have introduced my bill HR 1009, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act that amends the Controlled Substances Act to allow farmers to grow industrial hemp in accord with state laws.
In recent years, our federal government has abandoned individual liberty and states' rights in the name of a federal "war on drugs." However, constitutionally, there are only three federal crimes. These are treason against the United States, piracy on the high seas, and counterfeiting. The federal government's role in law enforcement must be limited to these constitutionally federal crimes and should certainly not extend to the doctor's office.
I will continue my attempts to educate my colleagues that ours is a federal government of limited powers, restricted by the United States Constitution and the too-often-forgotten Bill of Rights. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns on this most important issue with me.
Sincerely,
Ron Paul

Oh Absolutely! Like i've stated before im voting for RON PAUL and only him! I only hope that everyone else votes for him so that he does become president.

im voting for Ron Paul too
but doesnt he have to be nominated or what not to even get the chance to become president???
Email I received from Ron Paul on Marijuana
He doesn't have much chance of being elected because of the electoral college system. But you can still send a message by writing his name as your vote for president.

Doubt he will be nominated but if he does or becomes vice president then I will be using vote for him. I'm pretty psyched about voting and this election will be my first chance. I wouldn't be surprised if who ever gets nominated by the republican party chooses Ron Paul as his running mate.
Email I received from Ron Paul on Marijuana
^ They would never choose him as a running mate. He's way too extreme. A libertarian really.
But man Id vote for him in a second!

Thats fantastic jakez ... thank you for sharing that. Ron Paul is a true patriot. Bush and his little party pals have hijacked that word and totally ruined its real meaning.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ron Paul and attending a rally for him and it was amazing. I urge everyone who is interested in voting for him to do so! Don't let the general consensus that he can't win or that his polls are so low (both of which were created and spread by the media) sway who you're voting for. We have a long way to go and nothing is set in stone - this is our voice!

Exactly, people think he has no chance in hell, but this is probably because they haven't heard about him much in the mainstream news, neither have I! However I think it is obvious that in the real world where information is spread by EVERYONE Ron Paul is an EXTREMELY popular candidate. I have never heard a shred of negativity about this man and I have even searched hard for some dirt on him and it does not exist, yet some people still find ways to bash him...

Well... he doesn't have a good chance of getting nominated doesn't mean that I'm trying to vote the "Winning Side". If he doesn't actually run I will probably be voting for a third party.

The only Republican I'll ever vote for is Ron Paul!
Dems have an OKAY line-up, not a big fan of Hillary, and Obama could use some more experience- John Edwards seems good. But I would vote for Ron Paul over ANY of them in a heartbeat.

The problem with the other popular candidates is you don't reeeaally know what they're after.. :wtf:

I have decided to vote for Ron Paul awhile ago. The most important basic thing we can do is register Republican and vote for him in the Republican primaries.

I've gotta go with Kucinich. I like Ron Paul's ideas concerning marijuana, but other than that, I'm not a huge fan of him.

i had decided to vote for the man before i learned of his stance on marijuana. a libertarian is what our country needs now. After all GW has done to our country, I think Ron Paul can restore our liberties!
