While some moderation is definitely helpful, and of course appreciated, in the chat, the focus of moderation is intended to be here on the message boards; another mod or two will likely join in the near future.
Adding more mods just to cover chat won't change much there - more likely to result in flame/ban wars ... there's no way to 100% control a chat, especially when folks can't collectively agree what is acceptable and what isn't...
Often it's best to just ignore discussion one doesn't agree with, etc in a chat unless it's creating problems for other chatters, such as flooding the chat, writing overt violent threats, etc.
Lastly, I realize this is not the answer some folks want to hear, but that's just the way chat is ... for folks seeking a more focused chat, please try using one of the rooms in the chat room list; cafe members only chat is coming soon.
