General public opinion in the USA
Can I ask anyone from the US what the majority public opinion on the war in iraq is? If the majority support it or not etc..
Here in the UK I would say around 70% dont support it. But then again, thats just my generation, im not sure about the older people etc..
It's weird sometimes because considering the USA is our main ally, there seems to be a lot of general dislike towards them.. Not the people, just the government.. Well sometimes the people which is pretty fucked up. Its hard to explain. Lots of people dont want to get into another war so they want to distance us from the USA. Longterm, good idea maybe.. If the UK becomes less of a wannabe powerhouse then maybe we wont get fucked if a 3rd world war comes around..

I think it's safe to say that support for the war is flagging as evidenced by Bush's all-time low approval ratings and the Democratic victories in Congress recently.
I've been against the Iraq invasion for a long time, not because I'm a peacenik but because I think the US has bigger fish to fry with bin-Laden and Afghanistan, where the Taliban is steadily gaining control again.
We are undoubtedly at war, but not with Iraq. We need to focus on the real terrorists and regain worldwide support.

Yes, let's focus on the real terrorists: the global elite.
The "War on Terror" itself is used as a device of control, to put fear into us - so that when shit hits the fan, all the people go begging to the government to keep them safe, even if it means the loss of liberty. This War on Terror can never end, because terrorism doesn't end. You can't go to war with the idea of terrorism - it will always persist. Nobody should be supporting it, because with a never-ending war like this, the ending of our liberties is perpetual.
The War on Terror and the war in Iraq are not what they seem! If you support it, you're supporting the end of our freedoms.
We're not even looking for Osama Bin Laden. And not to mention that he is merely a scapegoat to cover up who really planned 9/11: the global elite.
We're harboring the terrorists, and we fund terrorism.
Ultimately, question authority.

A majority of American voters think that the initial invasion was a bad idea (the opposite was true in 2003), and the same majority wants a gradual troop withdrawal to begin immediately. Only a delusioned base of fundamentalists and aristocrats, about 25-30% of those polled, continues to stand behind the President.
Biggest foreign policy disaster in recent history.

I don't know of anybody that supports Bush, yet I know too many people that voted his butt back in! I did NOT vote for Pres. Bush as I know he doesn't give a rat's ass about what the people want. He seems to be more of a dictator to me than anything else.
I will always support our troops, but the president can go f himself! I think Bush would have been a better comedian than a president....he's already a joke!
Just keep in mind that most of us want his ass out of office. Hate the leader, not the led! England rocks, America rocks, it's our governments that suck!

You mean that it will end when our government decides for it to end, right? This war is perpetual, you can't kill an idea. Terrorism is an idea, and there will always be people who want to commit atrocities. America does not need this war, it's a war that cannot be won. The war in Iraq certainly is part of the "war on terror," even though it has nothing to do with terrorists, but rather the control of Iraq and its natural resources. It also expands the sphere of influence of the US government. Don't fall for the bullshit that "we need this war" - we don't. There will be another terrorist attack, but it won't be because of Osama Bin Laden, or any middle-eastern terrorists. You've fallen victim to propaganda, my friend, and I'm sorry to know that you have. Please understand that the terrorists that you "know of," are merely manufactured. It was created by people who want to control you, and everyone else. Looks like they're doing a good job. Please, please stop spreading the idea that we need this war. We don't need more brainwashed people - we already have too many.

The terrorists are not too busy getting the shit blown out of them, because they are funded by our government to carry out attacks on US soil to support certain government agendas. 9/11 was intended to get the people to support a war in Afghanistan, and then Iraq. No, I don't want a bunch of 'crazy religious fucks' running the world, but I don't see where that came from, or see how it has anything to do with my comment on the US controlling the natural resources in the middle east.

Just a tad ironic that most Americans don't want to be in Iraq... yet our government claims to be trying to bring democracy to the place? What kind of democracy is our government demonstrating by not listening to its own people?

That is a truly beautiful point....
And besides that...whoever said that we should decide how another nation runs itself...who says that Iraq wants to be a democratic nation...the US gov't is one of the bullies of the world playground...and sadly a majority of Americans fell for the sensationalist propaganda BS that they spoonfeed us to make us think that every other nation should be run like ours, should think like we do, and should subscribe to the same morals....The peoples of middle eastern nations have a thought process and a way of life that most Americans will never understand. We're supposed to be this tolerant 'melting pot' nation, but as a whole the US is closedminded to anything too far to the left or right of our own values and mores. We have a bad history of treating anything different with extreme disdain... This war is about domination of a nation's natrual resources and Bush trying to finish his daddy's war....Think back to right after 9/11 before we invaded Iraq...Saddam said he ain't have shit to do with Osama and what he did, and if he knew somethin' he wasn't tellin it so we should be about our business and leave Iraq out of it...soon after we started hearing less and less about Osama and more and more about Saddam...No WMD found...Was Saddam a bad leader? hell I don't live in Iraq, so I don't know....I know that things could be better in that country, but I don't remember the people of Iraq sending us an SOS to save them...We've got enough problems on home soil that could be easily rectified with all the billions we're spending destroying and rebuilding a country halfway across the world..
But I still love and support our troops...not their fault that their CIC is a dingleberry....

hahahaha it is nearly impossible actually... i am a very radical thinker... i want to change this world badly... but thanks to the patriot act, any real attempt to change the govt. will get you fucked in the ass.
and too many people are god fearing, "america" loving, stooges. i know i was for years... i didn't know how not to be.
WE DON"T KNOW HOW TO REBEL... WE DON"T KNOW HOW TO GET OUR WORLD BACK
politicians go to school, and have a career based around manipulating the masses. how can we compete with that? they have played on our human nature so well, that we live in a completely fabricated world. once your eyes are open, you see this control everywhere.
i want to know how to sway the masses, and get them to listen to me... hell i will admit i am doing it, and doing it for my own good... but that everyoneelse's best intrest is with me too... i think the powerful need changing for their own good too, they view the world in a perverse, and unrealistic way...
the main thing that keeps this all going is that we are afraid that rebellion will lead to an apocolyptic situation, and that we are more civilized than ever... when in actuality technology is another bit of smoke and mirrors, that makes us think of ourselves differently, than the rest of the world or the past.
i don't see a single shred of evidence of one country or area of the world, that isn't controlled/manipulated by the powers that be. the entire world needs to change, and open their eyes... people need to understand their abilities, and know that if we stand up together we could do anything... but everytime this happens, the powerful simply readjust their plans, and remaintain control
tell me how to get a fair world, on the planet of human?

What lesson is there to learn for us overindulged, spoiled, lazy Americans? Our status as a world "superpower" has made us complacent and overconfident. We are fortunate enough to live in a country where our streets and marketplaces aren't bombed on a regular basis, and we're lulled into a false sense of security. It's only a matter of time before terrorists put all the money we've given them to good use. The gov't knows this and they're OK with it...it all falls into their plan to keep fear in our hearts so they can manipulate us into conforming to their agenda....

We outnumber these assholes on a massive power trip by at least 5 billion fold, just to get you to understand how outnumbered they are. The problem is exactly how you explain it - that they have manipulated and completely changed us. But don't lose hope, friend. We can change it back, and eventually we will... even if it takes a long, long time. Tides will always turn, because the world is full of change. The only way to get people to combat this brainwashing is to open them up. What we need is a way to put up anti-propaganda propaganda (I know, ironic, isn't it?) into the mainstream media. We need to start rallying, etc. We can change the world, have no doubt about it.
The only way to get rid of them is to expose them, and kill them. I know it sounds bad, but like you said, they would just readjust their plans. Find them, expose them, kill them. After all, how many people have they killed? They should each be killed a million times over to make it even remotely fair. Killing and destroying them is the only way to remove this. Then what we would need is a strong government that only elects those that have been proven to not be corrupt. Here's the part where it would be sketchy. Some people may agree with this, and some may not. A utopian government and country would need to put out propaganda and brainwash their citizens too. Now the reason I think this is because there would obviously be people in your utopia that would want to convert it into something that they want, because they'd as well be control freaks. You would need to brainwash people to essentially return them back to "normal," so-to-speak. To remove all the controlled thoughts and opinions that we have nowadays. Guarding your government would be the hardest part of it, however. And no, I don't think an anarchy society would be good either. Those can easily be overthrown. There's quite a bit of things that you need to think about before you can go and revolutionize the world with your new concepts of governance.
Supposedly they want to kill 80% of the population. Do you know why? Because 6-7 billion people is far too much for them to control all at once. They need more managable numbers to have absolute control.
There's always a way to take over, whether it be for bad purposes, or good.

I think the idea what we followed the U.S into war is disgusting. Innocent people getting killed (from the U.S, U.K AND the country's we have warred) for NO reason.
Our governments are murders.
The reasons for the wars are totally inadequate, and it's shameful to be an American and British citizen supporting this unjustifyed massacre in this day and age IMO.
