Cannabis is God

Someone said that in a post yesterday. I don't remember who it was.

I have been thinking that it could be true.

Right now, I am doing bong hits, and reading The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer online for free.

Weed has been known as "the liberator" in many cultures. What is amazing about it, if you open your mind to it, is it helps you see through the lies to the truth, and gives a better understanding of corruption. Potheads are some of the most intelligent revolutionary people I have ever met.

Could cannabis save the planet? Possibly. Replacing fossil fuels, tobacco, alcohol, cotton, trees. No more cutting down forests for paper. No more using fossil fuels. People would abuse other legal drugs less, especially tobacco, alcohol, and painkillers.

I think weed is very spiritual, and it gives me an interesting outlook on life. I am definitely more calm and openminded when high. Imagine all the people of the world having as much access to weed as alcohol and tobacco. Imagine how many peace-loving revolutions would rise up. Nonviolent conflicts would begin erupting all over the planet. People would eventually be out in the streets by the tens of thousands protesting wars.

If we are not fighting for oil, then what are we fighting for?
Take away the world's addiction to fossil fuels, and replace it with a natural resource. We can run our cars on hemp. Think about it. Imagine forests of cannabis growing freely across the land.

Cannabis. Legalize it. Worldwide. We have everything to gain, and nothing to lose.

Maybe cannabis is God. Or Goddess.

In my humble opinion, i think calling a plant "god" is somewhat of an overstatement... even cause there is a some people that calls mushrooms, or other herbs "god" too... and i also think that we have enough religious discussions and religious wars in this world... :p
I would prefer to call weed (as well as mushrooms, catci and so) as God's Gifts, not God itself.
But a VERY good gift... no doubt about this. :jointsmile::stoned::rastasmoke:

God would be what created us, supposedly, in his own "image". It could've been life, as a whole, which shares His image.

With God being Life, my arm grows out of me, therefore, it is me.

With God being the Earth, cannabis grows out of this planet, therefore, Pot is God.

I do agree and believe cannabis could potential 'save the world' as it were, and help people (especially people who follow politics) to see threw the massive corruption in what is the 'worlds dealings'.

Cannbis is only one part of my life. While I use it as a tool, I maintain that for however amazing I percive it to be, it's still somthing that is not essential to anyones spiritual progress. It IS still a tool. Not a god.

So, you are saying it is not life, if Life were to be God.

It's utterly dependant on how you define "God". To say that life is God, then all that is alive by your belief is God. To say that God is existance (Just as viable as life is just a state of matter) is to say that everything is God.

Stag Beetles are God. It's alot less romantic, 'eh? Just as viable tho' by your own logic.

But again, depends how you define God. To refer to it as some sort of divine creator takes all of the magic out of the world around me from my perspective, but that's another topic for another day.

i always find it slightly amusing when people claim spiritual power or godlike attributes for our wonderful little herb. the same claims have been made for most all mind altering substances. folks seem to forget that these substances merely change the way you view the world, they don't actually physically change anything but the chemistry of your brain. all of those grand revelations you receive while under the influence were there all along, you just couldn't see them until the roadblocks were removed. yes, it's a wonderful way to remove the debris that accumulates in your mind, but even at its best it is nothing more than a tool to change your frame of reference.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't call the drug God. I would call it one of God's "helpers".

They discover that our bodies our trying to mimic the effects of this plant. When did that start to happen, in respect to evolution? We can't get ourselves high, like sativa can, nor can we activate the receptors in our immune system as dramatically as cannabis can.

Cannabis is more powerful than the human race. It has endured more than the human race. Why else would half of our population want to destroy it out of fear?

You can acheive the effects of drugs through meditation and hypnosis (Not at the same time).

Cannbis initiates a chemical reaction, but at the end of the day, that's all everything is anyone. One condition of matter interacting with other conditions of matter.

The key word, there, is "drugs", or, "anything that is tampered with".
(Actually, that doesn't matter. It's a separate point.)

You can't achieve the biological effects of cannabis, through meditation/hypnosis, the same way that you can't destroy your brain cells, through meditation/hypnosis, in the manner that meth can.

God can be whatever or whoever you want it to be. He doesn't necessarily have to be some geeza living in the clouds.

The way christians view a god is somthing or somone you put above all other things. If money is the most important thing in your life that is your god ,or a person. So if cannabis is the number one thing in your life above family, friend and yourself, then it is your god. Thats what I belive. I love the wounderful plant and I could not imagine my life without it now. But it is not God.

BINGO! You said it exactly. We really don't need anything to see or realize the ultimate reality (often called enlightenment)--just a shift in our point of view. Check out Nisargadatta. He did not even meditate yet one day he woke up every bit as much as the Buddha (he said he focused on his sense of self for about 3 years...). Cannabis, shrooms, etc are really tools that can help us see outside of our conditioned experience. Using them wisely, with awareness, is the way to go.
