Anyone wanna comment on, say, various forms of cooking or teas or whathaveyou?
My aim is to select one that is most cost-effective...I'm tired of smoking it and wanna give my lungs a break.
I love it in tea but it seems to take about twice as much (for example, if one dose would rip me then I need two doses in my tea to rip me. BTW I do think it's a different rip and it's niiice.
So - butter, brownies, sludge, some sort of elixer - what is the most economical alternative to smoking it?

The most economical method would be oil production, assuming you have enough material to make it worthwhile. Failing that, it's cooking. The thing to remember about cooking is that you want to eat the THC, but not the green stuff. You can extract the THC+oils by boiling your material in water with a stick of butter, straining out the solids, and letting the butter gell on top. Cook with it like you would normal butter. Your tea problem is related to this, also. Add a bit of oil to the water.<p>
You might want to try a vapourizer, also.

Hmm...sounds pretty productive. Alot of thc is gonna get lost in the cooking (on surfaces, etc) but I'm sure once it's suspended in the butter it ain't goin' nowhere. Any idea how long that'll keep?
Your suggesting some oil is necessary to draw-out the THC? Oh wait..oh yeah, oil and water duh huh...so I guess cooking it, you'd need butter or something.
My grandmother (and hers before!) kept a jar of alcohol with a *bigass* bud in it ... she'd rub it on for arthritis and such...didn't even know wtf it was the kind ol' lady - her kind've been doing that since forever.
When I was 15 a buddy and I tried smoking some of that bud wtf were we thinking hahaha...oh man, gak!

a quarter ounce of some decent heads in two sticks of butter will keep you baked for quite some time.
Fill a large pot with water and start it on its way to boiling. put a smaller pot inside the one with water. Put your butter and herb in the second pot. Congrats, you've made a double boiler. Do this so you don't burn the butter and waste your herb.
Let that simmer away for about 20 mins. Strain it through a piece of chessecloth into a tupperware container. Stick the tupperware in the freezer until your butter has completely set, then move it to the fridge. put it on toast, cook with it, whatever you can think of. It should be a light green color and taste heavenly.

One time, I just baked some cookies and sprinkled the weed like on top of them and smooshed them in and we ate them and got FOOOKED up. It was good times for my friend who is allergic to smoke and can't really stand to inhale anything like that.
remember when you were an infant and your mom would bring you warm milk? i just had the idea of getting some milk really hot, and then adding a weed teabag. the milk would absorb all the thc, and it would be really easy to do. think that would work?
Sounds like it would work. But I don't know. Would love to hear how it goes though.
One time a good friend of mine cooked some kick ass stir-fry with pot and it was one of the greatest things i have ever tasted...not to mention how baked I got.
The same friend made a batch of pot ice cream that got me so high I couldn't move.

How about the efficiency compared to smoking? As a measurement, let's say you buttered your toast liberally, how many slices for, say, a 1-bowl buzz?
Would it help to break-down the herb a bit first? How about freezing it, in order that the frozen thc crystals might more effectively be included in the brew?

No wait - yeah another time I did it right and it definitely takes at least 2 splifs worth in tea to do me. I'm pretty sure I'm losing alot of the stuff in the process though.
I think a tiny double-boiler and careful handling could get most of it into the butter.
I think I'll actually use BlueBonnet, it wont burn and it keeps forever cause it's plastic or people or something.

2 cups milk
1-2 grams hash or buds, or a handful or leaves or stems
a pinch of spices to taste
Melt the butter in a pan, add cannabis and simmer for one minute. Add milk and warm gently. Add spices, eg cinnamon and nutmeg, and add honey to taste. Endless variations are possible, for example mint julep, fruits, and even vodka! Serve cool.
