Sprout with a limp
I have a sprout with 4 small leaves about 2.5 inches in height planted in rockwool. in the middle of the stem it looks like there is a kink in it and it leans because of it and can't support its own weight. Any suggestions on what to do? Could I cut it above the kink and replant it?

i wouldnt cut it if i were you do you have any bugs in your grow area if so there are these critters that eat the inside parts of the stem at the bottom making the plant fall im high so i dont remember what the critters are called can you post a pic

Unfortunately I don't have access to a camera so I can't take any pics but the leaves are a healthy green color just that the stem is skinny and week and has a kink in it. Also my grow room is pretty clean since I did a thorough inspection of the room before I set everything up.

hmm maybe you should if you have not already get a fan and have it blowing on the plants wind stress will make the stems much stronger if the stem isnt broken i would dig the plant up and re-plant it deeper(till the first set of leaves) that should work also whats the size of your area what type of lighting ventilation ect ect it sounds like the stem isnt strong enough have you tried to put like a stick in soil and prop you plant up like that i think its a trellace but anyways it could be a whole host of things but it just sounds like the main stem isnt strong enough what strain are you growing:thumbsup:

Wish I knew what strain it was... just what I could get my hands on readily. Well the limp progressed to about 1/2 in of gimpy looking stem and pretty much just snapped under the pressure. i made a neat cut of the base and replanted it in the rockwool... I will be amazed if it survives.

i have also had this prob i think its the way the seeds r planted i always through a bunch of seeds in dirt and let it pop up on its owm and i had one just like that waterd regularly and had fan on it and others thats how my stems get thick

I think maybe I kept the sprout away from light too long so the stem kept growing till it was so long and skinny it couldn't suport the developing leaves when I put it under a light. Lesson learned I guess.

well my one and only plant was a damn male so i threw it out and i germinated 12 seeds the seeds were some left over seeds i had in storage the the writing said hash plant but i dont remember getting those seeds but they popped and are half an inch with two sets of leaves already so i had to tie two of them with sticks i only have a 150 watt hps but im getting a 400 watter soon but the internodel space on my plants are 1/8 of an inch apart i have no idea how that happend when i only have a 150 watt on them has you plant died if so are you going to plant anymore

Yeah, unfortunately it didn't make it. I now have 1 plant left and am hoping to god it's a female so I can use it as a mother plant. This is my first grow so even if it's a male I think I am going to see it through just for the experience. I am hoping to plan a trip to amsterdam for the 2008 cannabis cup. I am going to save some money so I can visit a seedbank while I am there and stock up on plenty of different strains.

So long as you make sure to check the bag the seeds are in.. I jsut wrap them in some heavy plastic bags rolled up and stuff them under all my shit in my bags. Never ever would I take them on the plane... If worst comes to worst slap them between your buttcheeks with some ducktape though I would never do it... Would hurt taking the tape off too much.

its much safer just ordering them:thumbsup: if you really wanted to you could go prison style and stick them in your butt but i think they z-ray you or something:wtf:

Next time you can replant it and bury it far enough so it can support itself. Another trick is to cut a straw to just under the length of the stem, silt it on one side and then wrap it around the stem.
