Grow shop?? Online??? Shouldn't be hard to get at all.....
Got any name of websites and such??:)
High Tech Garden Supply
Best place IMO
GR8 !! Thanks!!
I bought the mylar blankets off fleabay. They're cheap
mylar rescue (heat) blankets at a camping supply store or fishing store.
they sell the emergency blankets at walmart too
walmart, camping section, $1.35 each I think
You hvae to glue them to a piece of cardboard, or reinforce the edges wiht duct tape
I chose walmarts auto section for windshield reflectors, because I believe they are easier to work with and caught my eye on the reflection %.
mylar is not as reflective as flat white paint ....so if paint is an option go w/it.

Puff.. mylar is MORE reflective then flat white paint.. but flat white paint will help!
I got my info from ed rosenthal and mel frank..........where did you get your info????Quote:

I think evert should continue to use mylar or aluminum foil or emergency blankets or sumthin, the rest of us should go w/whats proven to work best.

not sure how i double posted....but maybe that get the point across better :)

Anything I've ever read says mylar reflects 98% of light while flat white reflects about 70%.
aluminum foil is shite. hot spots and crinkles easy.
Mylar is far more reflective than flat white paint.
Like blink says aluminium foil will cause problems, do not use it.
White paint is ok but not nearly as good as mylar.
Try to get domed or diamond mylar, its the best.

ignore the poly and film , they may melt :)
Mylar is for microgrows.
Panda film or flat white paint are ideal for larger spaces.
The drawback of mylar is that the slightest bit of dirt or pesticide overspray will dull the surface and make it really unreflective. Be prepared to clean and replace it regularly.
I no longer use mylar at ALL in any of my grow spaces. Panda Film is the bomb diggity.
FYI Good flat white paint has lots of titanium dioxide in it. That makes it more reflective than mylar I believe. Although I use mylar because I believe it has more intensity.
party supply stores have plenty of mylar too
local garden store
i got 3 18" x 36" sheets of the stuff at a party store (the kind that sells balloons n costumes n crap like that) for .99$
after using high-quality Mylar for 3-4 years, never again :(... after cleanings, it dulls badly, and doesn't reflect nearly as well as Panda plastic, or flat-white paint ... just the other day I made comparisons with my light meter, wasn't even a contest ... I'm building my new cabinet with flat-white paint :smokin:
Just go to home depot and buy 4'x8' sheets of 1/4" white board for $11.00 each. sturdy, no painting, easy to clean.
I built mine out of this stuff and before I sealed the cracks with aluminum tape any light leak was like a laser beam with a 600w mh in a 4'x4'x8' box. Mylar is only an added expence that is not needed IMAO.
I took my light meter to Home Depot about a month ago, and checked those very panels you speak of  they reflected better than anything else I could find in the store ... I would buy them , but am going with an oak finish paneling, (painted white on reverse side), purely for cosmetics ... :smokin:Quote:
