a/c, hands down. but i live in tx.... so if i lived up north somewhere it'd probably be my computer.
it would have to be the tv
COMPUTER. without my music (which takes up 97% of my hard drive (ps. that's a totally made up percent, I'm just estimating :) ), trashy gossip sites for boring times, word processors (for school. Seriously, my handwriting is pathetic, but I'm an awesome typist), and super-awesome speakers for previously mentioned music, I'd be completely screwed. And pretty bored.
my music collection is standing at over 1,600 songs @ just under 8 gigs. i'd be screwed without my music/speakers as well :pQuote:

Hmm... does electricity count as either modern or an invention? If so, then electricity.
I would agree.Without it none of us could enjoy the computer, the tv,the a/c,or even the car.Quote:

Oh! Credit cards! That's definately it.
cd's, cd player. and so, so much more.
well if wanna get technical, then copper/steel.... as we'd not be able to even have electricity without it...Quote:

If I had to pick just 1 thing it would definitely have to be the computer. I could easily live without television and other stuff. :pimp:
my personal toilet,
who knows where else, I'd cra*?
a pen for drawing and a lighter to smoke my weed. ( imagine rubbing two sticks together to smoke a bowl )
probably the lighter and bong
Who said weed? Weed isnt modern - it's been around longer than we have!
I'd probably vote car. I could live with very little, but i NEED my car.
Microwave oven, I'd starve without it when Mrs NCM is at work.
Oh, and my Kenwood TH F7E.
Cheers
NCM
Computer, with out a doubt.
I used to think it was the computer but now I know better....it's the tractor.
Computers/Internet, without that we would be back in the dark ages.
I'd have to say my drip coffee maker. With its timer, I wake up to fresh brewed coffee every morning. I would miss it something fierce.
I've lived without a computer the first 20 years of my life. I could live without it. But no fresh-brewed coffee?! NEVER!!
p2p and internet porn. you got love it!:D
Computer, without a doubt in my mind
I would have to agree that weed is a great modern day invention:wtf:
I guess I would have to live without whatever said object would be first to actually realize how much I depend on it. So until then I would have to say binary code.
And Slipknot, I have you beat. I have over 8,000 songs.
since when has weed been a modern day invention? or tobacco or beer for that matter...Quote:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force...does that count? That show has seriously been one of the only sources of happiness in my life. Without Aqua Teen Hunger Force? Why...its possible I could have slit my wrists and bled to death ages ago.
Ya know?
And btw, I have both Psycho and Dread beat with 19.3 gigs of music.
volcano vaporizer

I would have to say my laptop, I do all my music editing on it, it's got the internet, i could game on it i wanted to, and it works as a digital backup to all the cd's i have... almost 10 days worth and constantyly growing
computer, which holds all 4300 of my songs. then probably cell phone (which is broke atm).
Most of us couldn't live without refrigeration nowadays. Granted you need electricity but they had electricity before refrigeration. Imagine having to get your food fresh everyday, every meal? Couldn't be done, in a modern city.
All those other things are just luxuries.
