If you have to feed that many people you're bound to screw up a few times I suppose... Hell, I would.

Some guy was setenced to execution for all that dodgy shit - coz he knew about it but still let it out. Corrupt idiot.

I just want to make absolutely sure that there is no racism on this thread and that everyone keeps this discussion on an adult level.

That being said, it's a sad example of what the drivepressure to increase industrial production too fast can do. The consumers have to share at least a biut of the blame for this.

Can't really blame the Chinese or their government for this.....it's corporate America moving these plants overseas in order to get cheap labor and less stringent manufacturing standards.

Dog food, toothpaste, Mattel toys.........they've been exposed. NOW it's time for the consumer to express thier distaste at the check out lines. Like the ol' saying goes; You get what you pay for. Buy cheap and you get exactly that.....cheap product.

With Mattel they're not only talking about a massive recall on toys with possible lawsuits for the lead poisoning but also to make them pay for lead testing for ALL children that had their product at $200 a pop.

i suppose you're right about supply and demand, but consumers shouldn't have to take full responsiblity for it. the way i see it, the demand creates pressure to push stuff out, so the people in charge take shortcuts and bypass saftey in an attempt to keep up with demand.

did you know one of the main CEO's (or someone high up) hung himself after all the mattel drama?

I think it's such hiprocricy for our government to criticize others for thier lack of safety for things like the dog food recall etc.

Honestly, I really feel like this might have been just a stunt the U.s. was pulling to make America seem more safe and responsible.

We all know that's not true, and anyone educated about the Usda knows it's a giant criminal organization.

How much pollution and junk has the u.s. produced and invented compared to other countries? In sight of this, should they really be criticizing anyone? I am glad though that whatever dangerous
additives were removed and products recalled, but surely there is more where that came from.

I bet the people in China believe their food additives and chemicals are safe just like our brainwashed nation does too.

It's well known now that China poses a serious economic and dangerous threat to America's dominance and that our government is doing everthing to keep them at bay and hold thier position. I see this as another strike in a sparring between both nations.

i doubt china thought the "food additives" were safe, because it was poison, not something that's unhealthy over a long period or something, but something very deadly, and the problems with china don't end with this pet food problem, there's many other products we're importing that are completely unsafe, hear about the tires made in china? they're blowing out and killing people, wait don't criticize? i just don't understand what you're saying.

No, no. I'm not saying noone should hold them accountable. What I'm saying is that the us government criticizing them is hypocrisy. And what about gmo's? I think those have a much greater risk than any of the poisons China puts in their food. Thjose can be recalled, but if something goes haywire in the development of gmos and their gene gun goes screwy, then it could very possibly turn into something very deadly that cannot or with much difficulty be taken out of the enviroment. And there are numerous examples of the junk they try to feed us with.

this is very true.. we take medications, which get recalled alot... i mean things that have been known to cause death are guess what.... STILL ON THE MARKET!

but all in all, when there's 6+ billion people, there's bound to be alot of screw ups.. but i will hold those responsibile who are responsibile... i don't say either is entirely at fault, they both are at fault.... maybe my thread topic was a little to controversial, i realy don't want this to turn into some political fued...

if need be, mods feel free to change the title to something like "all these exporters and importers seem to be dropping the ball" or something equal....
