Laced weed? I was tripping or something... (long)

Something weird happened last night... I'm not really sure what happened... this is a kinda serious thing too... I'm not bragging or joking or whatever...

So I hadn't smoked in about 4 months but last night I smoked with a few guys that I've recently met, and as far as I know these guys are hardcore smokers and they said it was dank shit... well I've only smoked a handful of times and very occasionally at that, but I was like sure...

So we're passing the bowl around the circle, and about the 2nd or 3rd time around for me... everything starts to go wrong. My vision was completely fucked up. Everything was spinning, everything was slightly rainbowy, but above all the thing that I noticed most is that I felt like I was viewing the world as though it were lit by strobe lights... my vision was constantly blacking in and out, pulsing, almost like one of those old-style "flick" movies with the projector...yaknow, frames of black...

I also felt really out-of-touch with reality. I was pretty much incapable of focusing my thoughts into locution... I was just watching... it was almost like I was watching a TV show, except that I was in the TV show but sorta invisible... like this TV show was happening around me... I felt like I was the old lady in Requiem for a Dream watching that TV show... but anyway it was like a TV show of reruns, this never-ending conversation that I'm completely unable to follow (I remember something about a bluesnegro and something about a tumor, but I really don't remember a lot of what was happening last night...) is circling around endlessly, and what's more is that everybody is all telling me this same conversation all at once and they're like... stopping in mid-sentence to have a different person continue that sentence and strain of thought without a hesitation. It was so fucking weird.

I remember some of what was going through my mind... I kept wondering if I was really alive or if I had died. It felt like I had died, like I was in limbo, like I was watching the direction my life would have gone in... or something like that. I kept thinking "there's no way this is real because he would have finished that beer by now..." or "no way, that's just too witty and unrealistic" or whatever... it all felt like a dream at the time... and looking back the only real way I know now that it wasn't a dream and that last night actually did happen was that I have misquito bites all over my legs from us sitting outside... like I said I felt like an audience member during this all and the only thing I could do was keep scratching my legs and keep laughing... every now and then I'd like...stand up... or something to break the cycle of reruns and convince myself that I actually still did exist... but yet each time the pipe came back around to me... I felt like I could do nothing but keep taking hits from it because I didn't want to break the circle or overreact or something...

I dunno... what the fuck...
I don't even know what to say or think. I've never done acid before, but last night kinda felt like what I think a bad acid trip feels like. Somebody said the weed might have been laced by PCP, has anybody ever been fucked up by that before? Does my story make any sense... can anybody tell me what the fuck happened?

to me it just sounds like really dank weed...have you ever smoked dank before or do you usually smoke lesser quality?

Damn, I don't know what to say. It definitely was not laced with LSD. I've read reports on PCP on Erowid, and I've read of that spinning effect that PCP can create sometimes. It definitely sounds like you dissociated from yourself, and PCP is a dissociative. Could you give a bit more info, such as how it tasted, how it smelled. Because PCP would certainly alter those factors. Did you ask anyone else if they tripped out as much as you did?

You also have to remember that you're an occasional smoker, so some real dank shit could hit you hard as fuck. But with an experience like that, you can't rule out the possibility of it being laced. PCP isn't very common, however. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the matter.

It could have also been one of those real nice sativas, like Kali Mist, which some people would say is the closest thing to smokable LSD :).

You were high, man. Can't condone that in a cannabis forum. Although, you say it may have been laced. Well that just stinks. Know what you're smoking and more importantly, who you're smoking with! Chalk it up to experience. And ask yourself, "why did these guys want to get me high?"

yeah, i'm not sure if i should chalk it up as "i was really high" or "it was laced" because i've never experienced anything close to this before... the other times i've smoked were way different, laughing fits and tame shit and whatnot... the thing that really freaks me out is the disruption of vision... i don't know if i'd go so far as to say i was hallucinating last night...but almost... i was definitely out of touch with reality, kinda like when you're REALLY drunk and you feel too slow to keep up with what's going on around you and your memory is totally gone, 5 minutes later you don't remember what you were doing 5 minutes ago, and like i said it all felt so dreamlike, like i was going to wake up at any moment...like i was no longer impacting reality but merely drifting through it and observing it...

who knows, maybe i was just wayyyy higher than i've ever been before, and maybe the fact that i didn't really know a couple of the guys i was smoking with and i'd met the others only within the last week made me paranoid or something...

i don't really know how to describe the smell/taste, though.

Something exactly like this happened to me a couple days ago and it drove me crazy because I kept calling my friends to make sure I wasn't dead or anything. Everyone told me they didn't feel as much of the effects as I did, but most people said I just got really high because it was my 1st time smoking in months and I'm a novice to begin with but I was scared it was laced but didn't think it could be at the same time because one of my good friends was the person who I got it from and he's had the same source for over a year. I guess it goes hand in hand but did you also feel like you had no concept of time IE everything took way longer than it should have? I remember waiting at a traffic light (god knows i shouldn't have been driving that night but i had a friend kind of watching over me) and it felt like hours for it to turn green so I just ran it... that didn't please my friend in shotgun...

I can tell you for sure that it wasn't laced with any drug. You got really high and starting freaking out a little, but not hardly as much as some people have.

PCP is often cited because it's one of the few things that can be effectively used to lace cannabis. However, it is extremely uncommon and difficult to find in 99% of the U.S. right now. Everyone was smoking it, the effects of PCP are different, you would have tasted PCP, and all of your effects are fairly common to cannabis.

Yea dude, I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't laced, it was just some fire-ass dank shit. why do I say that?

1. I've been a really heavy smoker from time to time, and smoked a ton overall, but I take long breaks, like 6 months - 2 years. And a few times the first time I got high again, when it was some high high highgrade, pretty much the same thing happened to me, except I wasn't nearly as scared because I understood what was going on. (Actually it was worse for me cuz I also do this thing where my high brain is so excited to be back that it trys to process the 6 mo - 2 years of life its missed and I kind of OD on emotion... it sucks, but it only happens the first time.)

2. The whole "laced weed" thing, yea it does happen but its incredibly rare. I think people talk about it alot more than it actually happens.

3. The 2 or 3 true stories I've heard of people who smoked PCP without knowing it were about 1000 times worse than yours.

So relax, its normal and it will get alot more comfortable. like snorbel said, just take it slow, and probably the smartest thing, tell the people you're smoking with beforehand that you don't smoke much, steady smokers don't expect occasional smokers to keep up and hopefully they'll understand if you want to stop hitting it in the middle of a session

hell yeah, wish i could get a buzz like that from some weed..

I have heard this same mistake many times. However you are correct they are two very different substances. PCP is definitely not a healthy thing but formaldehyde is not something that should be anywhere near your body (until your dead). In fact Iâ??m not sure if itâ??s even an active substance. Can some one explain this to me?

Off topic question: what is â??waterâ?�? Iâ??ve heard different answers from different people and Iâ??m still unsure if itâ??s PCP or formaldehyde.

formaldyhydes embalming fluid and should never be smoked, it will literally poison you while giving youa "high"..its terrible shit for your lungs and brain cells, around here tho ppl cant tell the diff. and thats what they usually get for buying pcp

I don't think this guy smoked laced cannabis. He had a hard trip for weed, though, and I think it would be ignorant to completely rule it out, even as rare as it may be to receive laced cannabis.

I dont think it was laced, i had a very similar high about a month ago, we were hot boxing a car, and by the 3rd rotation with like 3 other people, it started to feel liek i was in a t.v. watching everythign, altho i didnt feel i was dead or anythign, i did feel very distant from reality. i didnt holoucenate but i could close my eyes imagin somethign, open them, and kinda pictrue it in front of me, ppl mistake this as holocenation, but theres a big difference between, imagining somethign is there, or actully seeing and feeling somthere

You just got high as fuck man. It's cool! That happened to me the first time I smoked, my eyes got so red, I could not stop smiling like a goddamn maniac, I looked in the mirror and saw me, mask-me grinning back. I saw a bright green flash out the window for no reason.

Yeah, weed is sometimes a hallucinogen. If you haven't smoked in awhile, or if you smoke a lot very quickly, you will mostly likely trip. Some people just don't ever hallucinate on weed for some reason. Those people sometimes say the people that trip are just making it up. Of course, it is all in your head, but it's not, because it can be spiritual sometimes. You can see into the spirit world. Of course, that is just my opinion, and can never be proven.

Next time, you can be mentally prepared. And, it is always okay to say you are all set, if you feel too high. That just means more hits for the rest of us. If it ever happens again, just relax and enjoy it man. And remember, you can't OD on weed.
