When do I use Molassas? I have heard as early as 3 weeks into 12/12 ... any comments?
Do I continue use or is it a 1 time thing?
thanks,
Max Blast

im not sure about the product 'hevyweight' but plain ol molasses, you can even use in veg, and its safe to keep on using right up until harvest with no nasty flavors or anything.
Since reading another molasses post, I have been using 1tbs for 4 litres or one gallon of water (I use rested tap water) and the ladies have shown no ill effects afer two weeks of flower and two feedings.
Grandmas Molasses picked up at the grocery store.
I may have to add Grandma to my test regime on some clones. My notebook is going to get so much more complicated.
I add molasses @ 2weeks into flowering, it seems that the next day flower clusters have a much more noticable increase in size compared to prior growth!Quote:

@ 5weeks flowering 300ml per 120L

@ 7weeks flowering no more molasses!
hope this helps!
I use it all the way through. From the time they have lateral roots, until the final flush.
+/-2tsp./gallon.
OK that is going into the nute mix on a couple of plants. Lets see 1t of molasses. 1t of cal-mag. 2t of Tiger bloom. Some bat guano scattered across the top of the soil? All plants into big flowering. Will this work?
Happy girl!
Molassas is thick and heavy. Do you mix it with warm water prior to mixing with nuitrients? & if so, do you mix it ahead of time and keep the mix in the firdge ? I was afraid to add hot molasses water to my nuitrient mix..... I don't like any extra heat ! I'm trying to remove any extra heat, not add.
yes you should mix it, I half fill my measuring cup with hot tap water and then measure my molasses right into it, give it a good stir & pour it slowly in nutrient solution while stiring to get a good mix without it settling on the bottom of reservoir.Quote:

Peace.
Now you bring up another question...
Ok, you add the fresh molasses to your nutrients right before you feed, but then how long can you recirculate the nutrients once you've added the molasses?
Or is it timing? You know you'll be changing the reservoir tomorrow, so you'll add the molasses today.
If you are using molasses and Sweet together, can you use the Sweet right up until harvest also?
PC
Prob not worth it for the last couple days, (as all that carbon won't be delivered to growth sites before harvest) but I don't know of any conta-indication to using Sweet right up to the end.
Advanced's flush agent ( which I can't remember the name of) actually has a bunch of sucrose in it.
Mmmmm... sucrose and surfactants.... yummy...
I can tell you that Im only a soil grower, & am currentlyin the process of switching to hydroponics, so if youre talkin about hydroponics my guess would be to use carbo-load by Advanced Nutrients. actual molasseswould prolly clog up hydroponic tubing and shit after a day or 2.Quote:

Yeah it seems that if you are going to use it you only leave it in there for about a max of 2 days. Otherwise you get 'the slimy mess'
I sweeten my water up with sorghum, just a little during flower, mmmm, sweet and tasty. Really good on a hot buttered biscuit too! Grandmas molasses is really kinda nasty tasting but good for cooking, okay for making a pecan pie but some good sorghum is better for that too, MHO.
Ive used Gramma'sBrer rabbit, all the way through my grow cycles.I flush with it and water and up to this point havent noticed any off taste.I use molasses instead of any carbo formula's you can buy as its pretty much the same stuff (beat waste by-product).Three little birds did a great little article on using molasses.Im a big fan and sold on it.Provides plenty of sugars for the plant.I always mix a half a gal of RO water with one tsp of molasses before adding it to the res.Someone mentioned that you dont want to let it set in your res to long and they are right.I just like saving money when ever I can. This is what I have done for a while now and Im really happy with it how it works for me.Have had some slime in my res from letting the molasses sit in there to long and occasionally not mixing it up before adding it to the res.Hope this helps, good luck and let us know how it works out for you.
I have this stuff and it tells u right on the bottle when to use it which is only during flower. Now, I hear people using it during an entire grow, so give it a try.
