giving up meat is harder than giving up weed
im a veggietarian its great :) good for the earth (the meat industry is the #1 polluter) the animals, you (as long as you make sure to get the right nutrition) and last but not least your karma ;)
i've always thought that giving up meat doesn't actually save any animal lives, right? Because when you get meat at a store or restaurant, it's already processed and ready to buy. In other words, not buying it, even if it means you consume, say, 100 less pounds of chicken a year, just means a little more gets thrown out when it goes bad. i'm not disputing that it's worse for you than a vegetarian diet, but a healthy diet can have meat
i agree, the meat industry is pretty damn bad in about every single wayQuote:

The livestock industry is one of many factors of the decay of the Earth.
What do I do about it?
I eat a cow a day.
No cows, no industry.
Petas full of shit.
Agreed. The idea of making a stand by not eating meat, has about as much merit as trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon. I will eat meat until the day I die, and no one will ever be able to convince me otherwise.Quote:

But finish dinner first.
I eat meat occasionally, because it's so readily available. I agree with all of you. You should be the change you want to see, I know that. I believe the most important thing in life is not the outcome, but the intention. when I eat meat, I intend to get nourished. I have no political or emotional feelings about the cow. I didn't really want it killed..
I guess what I'm saying is this: I thank every cow I eat for their sacrifice. I respect every piece of bacon. and eating meat this way makes me feel a lot less horrible about it at the end of the day.
Bottom line? We all know we shouldn't eat meat. But, until the day we all go vegan at the same time, there's not likely to be sweeping changes in the meat industry.
And fuck the baldwins.
Fuck PETA. I hope they all die. A billboard was erected by my pad here that says eating meat will give you cancer. Fucking whores.
PETA = People for the Eating of Tasty Animals wooo woo
The productivity of sanatized and prepackaged meats in today's society is one of the biggest indications of our evolution as human beings. We are no longer cave men hunting a beast with a stick (unless you're my ex boyfriend or younger brother), we have become highly evolved and why feel bad about it? Just thank god that we are able to do things like pick up any food imaginable at our local grocery store and quit bitching about the cow that's soul purpose in life is to feed and support higher life forms. I think that's a good purpose. And if one day, it is the human's purpose to support yet higher life forms than ourselves...than that is also a good purpose. I'm going to eat a cheeseburger....
