psychic ability/premonition

do you believe in it? not nessicarly that said person that has the gift can just like snap a finger and see into the future (mrs. cleo lmao..)

but do you believe some people see into the future, even at the slightest level?

i know it's real, as i have it... just curious what other people truely believe...

me personally, i get dreams all the time i won't really remember the dream until later, until what i dreamed about comes true (and it's rarely something big... but too specific to just be coincidence)

like i'll be playing a game, listening to a song and then my wife (or someone else) will say something to me.... in my own head before they're done talking i can finish what they're about to say... as the first word they mentioned after the other two factors fell in place just popped back all it once and i remember that i dreamt it..... and no i'm not confusing it with deja vu...

i also have a really bad habbit of saying things (again, far too 'random' to just be a coincedince) other people are thinking... not word for word, but may as well be... like "i hope he jumps off a cliff" may be the exact wording someone else is thinking while i pop off with "i wish he'd jump off a cliff" (just an example)

both are a pretty common occurance honestly... which is why i believe it to be some untapped power/capability of the human brain... i honestly belive some people have a slight 'unlock' on the ability while others are still locked in the time lock safe at the bank... i don't believe anyone can control it tho.... like i said, it just happens to me randomly i don't try to do it, and no matter how hard i try to make it happen, it won't. it just pops in there so to speak..

so what do you believe? do you believe me and people who claim the same are full of shit or do you think it's possible?

im kind of 50/50 on the subject. i understand and agree with what your saying. but there are way too many people that falsly claim that they are psychic, can speak with ghosts, or predict the future. every time i hear people claim stuff like that i get mad. do those people love the camera that much?

I believe it. I think DMT has something to do with it.

i've never went infront of a camera tho.. o.0 or claimed to be able to use it at my own free will (it's really kinda burdensome, especially if you take into account alot of my dreams are nightmares since my brother died... it can be stressful)

I dont believe in it. I think people misinterpret their natural gut instincts as being psychic. Or when you dream about something and it happens a few days later. Its not being psychic to me. Instead theres rationale explanations for these things.

i believe so.... do you have another explination to having dreams then later actually living them (again, nothing major, mostly simple things, but exact words/images are there) or being able to nearly quote someone word for word (has happened alot....) before the words even pass their lips?

i don't claim to be able to read cards or look into a globe or anything... it just kinda happens... like it or hate it tho, i'm stuck with it.

and damnit i didn't want this thread to turn into a 'about me thing' lol i wanted to know what everyone thought...

i'm more than intrested to hear them o.0 cuz the only thing i can contribute the dream thing to is psychic-ism or premonition.... or the feeling of 'hey i dreamed this before' could be deja vu, but as i said it's not that... once everything falls into place, i remember the dream to a T... (it's also only short clips... not like whole days... like 30 seconds - a minute long, if that helps/supports your theory)

or your sub conscience can be picking up on clues that you miss and then you piece them together when you dream. There have been reported cases of that happening.

It happends to me a lot too. It could be my instincts or it could be my "psychic" great-grandmother.
Sometimes, it freaks me out.

reb appreciate the info and don't think i'm dismissing it or anything but it just doesn't seem to fit.... i mean i understand well deja vu.. and i still DO have deja vu... but these dreams actually do happen... (unless i'm getting some serious case)

i've been noting my dreams for awhile now... (ever since about 14-15, becuase i kept having 'my dreams come true' so to speak) i wanted to make sure i wasn't crazy....

i suppose it's possible that's the explination but i highly doubt it... (i'm still welcoming any explinations... it's not exactly something i enjoy having)

but deja vu just doens't fit, as i stated i've noted the dreams... to verify i actually dreamed these events i later came across...

but they are only mental notes which is why i said i suppose it's possible.. nothing on paper (i suppose i should start a dream journal) and for the most part i rarely remember these dreams until the event happens and remember noting it, but there have been a few... that i never forgot...

Dont know what to tell you hun. Thats all I have is facts. Maybe you are. Who knows.

DUde, it sounds to me like u have deja vu.

I don't know personally. However you guys keep saying to Slip about de ja vu, but he is talking about premonitions. For example there was something on the news years ago about a women who had requested her husband not go into work because she had seen something bad happen in her dreams. Later that day the building that her husband worked in collapsed, that's not de ja vu.

Something similar happened with my Great Grandmother. One night she woke up disorientated, and she had large patches of grey come through in her hair. She felt very uneasy and had a vague memory of her dream, it was about her brother. The next morning she received a call telling her that her brother had been shot dead.

I think your brain might just store a memory in dream section of your brain every once in a while.

My only psychic experience was when my HS English teacher, a wonderful man and a fine teacher, whom we all suspected was gay, failed to show for work one day. I wondered aloud if "one of his gay buddies knifed him." It turned out that he'd picked up a gay streetwalker, who stabbed him to death for his wallet. I felt awful.

erm... i'm hesitant to call BS but unless you were there, how do you know the street walker was gay and how do you know the circumstances (i mean, a principal certainly doesn't come in and say "mr. <name> was gay, and attempted to pick up a gay street walker, who in turn killed him and took his wallet")

as for experiences like that, i've had some similar... but again, nothing of any real magnitude, just simple everyday shit...

Yeah slip that shit happens to me too. At least once a day (unless I barely talked to anybody that day, or not at all) I will either say almost word for word what somebody else was about to say, or I will be thinking hard about something and they will pop out with it, then look puzzled as to why they said it lol. Also.. my ex would wake up in the middle of the night for various reasons and I would wake up at the exact same times. We began writing down the times we woke up, then comparing them. It was almost always her fault, but there were a couple times when I would wake her.

Hah, wow that would be an ackward situation. I know that my highschool wouldn't have told us that was the case, they would have made something up. Then again, my highschool tries to keep bomb threats and shooting threats on the down low so I wouldn't believe them anyhow. They once tried to pass off a kids suicide as nothing but everybody knew how the kid died.

Anyhow slip I believe you on this matter. I have thought long and hard about things like this. There are people who claim to be psychics and that they have unlocked parts of their brain that normal people have been brainwashed to surpress (this is refered to as the 'third eye' commonly because people say it can be felt in the middle of your forehead when it is "opened").

I've heard of things such as remote viewing and astral projection. Remote viewing is when people can basically walk with their eyes closed. They sense everything around them and have somewhat of a 360 degree vision. People have used remote viewing to tell the future as well. The government denys this, but there are claims that they have a project designated to psychic phenomenon such as this. Astral projection is when somebody can conciously remove themselves from their body and travel to what has been called the 'astral plane' where they are basically inside a demension of thought that cannot be explained with words. Famous astral projectors have claimed to reach heaven with astral projection, but most scientists believe astral projections are just odd dreams.

It's an odd coincidence that I was looking into the phenomenon of deja vu yesterday, seeing this thread gave me a bit of it actually.

i'm not sure if you'd call it astral projection but one time i had a 'dream' (only i wasn't fully asleep.... i could still hear everything going in the house) and i was walking/floating (i was at the same level as if i was standing but i didn't have to 'move my legs' to move) around the house.... and the feeling was... weird.. i still remember the feeling... it's never happened since, and i was pretty sick at the time so i wrote it off as one really weird dream....

i still remember that feeling tho (and that was like... 16 years ago... i was 6 when it happened) it's impossible to describe accurately, about as close as i could get would be my skin felt as if it was being pulled straight out in every single direction, but not in a painful way.... (just think how it would feel to expand evenly but straight out like 4 times your size... that's about how it felt, as best as i can describe anyways)

i still consider it a really weird dream....

On Youtube check out the videos (actually there just audio) from the director Duderinok, especially the series "The Sixth Sense". I've listened to all of his videos they're awesome, lots of UFO, 2012, and psychic stuff. The "Divine Matrix" is also really cool.
Oh yea and I believe, but with the disclaimer I don't believe in the 1-900-psychic bullshit.

i have like weird feelings sometimes like something might happen so i wont do it. and yea something bad will happen. for example the other night i was offored to go to a party with lots of beer and weed and fun shit going on, but i got the feeling and didnt go, well about an hour after my freinds go i get a call and threr about to fight about 20 people ,and they may have guns. if i get the same feeling when i go into like a house i will leave right then i dont know why but something just tells me to leave. my whole family is like this having priminitions and seeing ghosts, and just all this weird stuff

It was in the police report. It was in the paper. The male streetwalker plead guilty (to escape the death penalty), and was sentenced to life in prison. It's a small town where that kind of thing doesn't happen, not even the male streetwalker thing. Everyone knew about it.

Thats all pretty cool. Your experience when you were six is more likely a lucid dream. A lucid dream is when you are dreaming and suddenly become aware that you are dreaming. There are a few different levels of lucidity but some people can basically do whatever they want (which includes having sex with good looking people) and it seems all very real. I have had a lucid dream once and as soon as I realized I was lucid I tried to fly. After a few unsuccessful tries I jumped in the air and started to float, then fly upwards... and I don't remember anything after that.

Your experience could have also been an ethereal projection. Ethereal projection is when a person conciously exits their body onto the 'ethereal plane'. The ethereal plane is basically the same as the 'physical plane' (which is the plane we are said to live on). People can go into these planes with their mind. I believe in ethereal projection and astral projection, but I'm not too sure about the remote viewing and such. I don't really remember where I learned all of this from.

Ah yeah, and also it's interesting that somebody mentioned DMT because I've heard a lot of interesting things about it.
