I'm new to smoking and all but for some reason all my friends hate to pack bowls...i don't get why because it takes 3 seconds, i just plop on 1 or 2 nugs and light it, am I doing something wrong?
i just hate to keep packing it, you might as well roll a fat blunt and pass it along.
i dunno... im not the best bowl packer..
i know a guy whos so good that one bowl
can last like 20 nice hits before theres even

lol no packing bowls is about the least strenuous activity one can partake in... if your friends are too lazy to put some fuckin weed in pipe/bong/bubbler they are probably high enough already...
personally i pack fat fucking bowls and make sure i always light up a nice section of the herb so that i may fully enjoy a really fuckin huge bong rip... thats just me though
as for exactly how long you would light it for it kinda depends on a) how big a hit you are gonna take (obviously) and b) how moist the weed is (if its kinda moist it might take a bit to really cherry well)
as lightly as you can but still able to turn the bowl upside down and not have anything fall out.
I pack it so that the bottom peices are the biggest and steadily get smaller and smaller towards the top. To me, it seems to burn more evenly so it's easier to corner the green.
I pre-grind my weed up and then put that into it's own container then pour into the bowl and press down till it's tight, but still loose.

Personally, I pack it semi tightly/medium?... I ground up the weed, or pick pieces and put it in evenly. I fill the bowl up enough, and light one side, save the other greens for the next person. No scorching... that's a NONO. I press lightly down ont he weed to make sure it's in there well, and then we toke.
I just grind it up in a coffee grinder and drop it in, maybe push it down so it's not sticking up over the top of the bowl. This is exactly the right size of bowl to get me high, so I've never switched it up. It's also easy to slow down the burn when you're ready to pull the slide. I'll be smoking with friends in a week or so though so I'll start packing tighter then.
i personally pefer lighty packed massive cones like i had one lastnight about 3mm's over the bowl n its a massive bowl

I prefer small lightly packed bowls, just cause i think the first hit is the smoothest, so I usually only pack one hit when alone. i dont see the problem, its not hard
You're not going to get any higher If you get more hits by packing it tighter. You just make things harder for yourself. You end of sucking on the pipe much harder and you may give yourself a headache. It should be in the pipe so it doesn't fall out, but not packed tightly. Remember things need oxygen to burn.
Just don't flame it. That's the important thing.
i just put enough in for like 5 hits then reload becouse when you pack a bowl and the bowl gets like 3/4 done it doesnt taste all that great
I break the weed up and then just lightly pack the weed into the bowl. Easy and burns just how you would expect it too.
Joints should be packed tight and bowls shoudn't imo because if you pack it too tight there's no oxygen or something and it won't light the bud, i learned that in my early days. I always break up my bud for bowls, I never put in straight big nugs.
i grind it up finely and then pack the bowl to the top and give it a light/firm press to pack it, loose enough to not affect the air flow and tight enough so that it doesn't expand up out of the bowl when you light it.
tightly packed bowls burn better.
i make sure not to pack so tightly that i have to work to inhale, but even that differs from person to person.
what's easy for me to hit, is hard for my best friend to inhale. even though she can take much huger hits than i.
it's odd.

I usually grind my weed then work it into a ball and then drop it in the bowl and put my thumb on it to press it into the prefect place. It is hard to do if you got really dry powder weed or some schwag that doest stick together.
I just put the weed in, in whatever way I feel like. I don't have preferences on the subject at all, it all seems the same to me.
I pack my bowls tight so nothing falls out. And I pack my joints as tight, full, fat as possible :D
Fairly tight, but its such a pain when it looks beautifully packed and then you go to hit and NOTHING, too tight grrr
