i have a les paul. get one, theres none better.
one of my pick ups broke tho so i got a pick protector on it
I always wanted one growing up. My diols are Page, Beck, Clapton etc. All famed Les Paul users, and this oppurtunity has really got me excited. Thanks for your input mate!
I'd trade for the Les Paul.
I have a Gibson '62 reissue SG with a custom fretboard with ivory inlays and low action, plays perfect as a jazz guitar as well as a metal guitar... I like it better than any les paul ive played, plus its about half as heavy lol.
Don't forget Les Paul...he was a fairly famous Les Paul user as well, plus he was a magnificent player and invented multitrack recording on top of it all.Quote:

couldnt tell you if youv allways wanted one I say trade, personaly I dont play on gibson at all unless its acoustic or classical, not that theirs anythig wrong with em just to expenzive and for the price I dont like the sound, I would have to tweek em all put some screamin demons on em and a floyd rose and a different neck cause i like my necks a little thiner and flatter but gibsons necks are bette than most others, I play on a n ESP, a Ibanez and a fender, as far as electrics go, I deffinitly want a 7 stringer soon dough mabey the warlok 7
yeah, my personal favorite is the telecaster, idk why i like the sound, but i like lp's better then sgs
I like the telecster for a cheeper guitar well used it has nice sound nice action and allot of extras, I like the people who played the tele's and strats too, SRV, Clapton, Hendrix, etc.
david gilmour
david who ........haha just kiding pink Floyed right
yeahhhhhh man pink floyd
Right now im using a Fender amp. As for tone, i play slide, and have been really dissapointed in the SG's sound on glass, metal and ceramic slides. The standard gibson pickups on it arent very good at all. I'm definately going for the LP now after some suggestions.Quote:

yeah pink floyd is dope I like all their albums not all the songs but deffinitaly most of em, I like alot of texmex and rancheras and the fenders are perfect for those tones and play is natural
yeah i dont like some songs on meddle, idk why its my avatar its not my favorite album...but echoes is prolly my favorite song
I'd trade for a Les Paul. They kick ass. Especially mine, which is a Jimmy Page signature edition. Cost me 15,000 Australian $'s though.
yes trade the sg for the les paul =) i have a les paul its so amazing alpine white costum =)
Ever checked out Carvin?
Some nice axes.
Personally I'd prefer the SG, since you say the both sound good. I used to have a Les Paul, a Epiphone Black Beauty. It was nice, but I prefer the more sleek design of the SG.
Les Pauls are the new york yankees of guitars, everywhere you go you see them. go for the sg
I wouldn't trade an SG for a les paul.
The only Gibson that's more versatile than an SG is the 335/345.
Lol.. thats kinda funny, because (arguably) two best slide guitar players in the world both play SG's, Duane Allman of course, and his successor in the allman bros Derek Trucks (also has his own band, he is a relative of Butch Trucks of the original Allman bros.)Quote:

i love les pauls, personally they are my favorite shape. i have a prs "single cut" pr elaw suit that is awesome, i love it. its thinner than the usual les paul as it is a "single cut" so its lighter. i proper love it.
but i have a jackson and a pimped out pacifica, plus an acoustic, round back electro and spanish.
i would say go with how you feel. ive never bought a guitar i havn't played cus you never know if your gonna like it so go with your gut. maybe do a trade for a month or so and see how you get on.
both are iconic guitars.
Languedoc custom semi-hollows are where its at.
depends on what style of music you play.
