This is from the X-Games Thursday. Jake Brown from Australia takes a 50 foot fall. The clip is nearly 3 & 1/2 minutes but near the end are some must see slow motion shots of Jake's massive crash. I don't know how he's not dead.

fucking hell that is brutal, he does all the right things thouh and tries to take it with his legs. the guy is definately a hero.

i love the way the board lights up red as he flailing body contiunes to rise. if he saw that hes gotta be kicking himslef
yeah i watched that live on tv. i almost shit myself when it happened.
i actually started jumping up and down in excitement.
it was funny when he was getting off the ramp u can see him mouth the words "what happened."

I remember awhile back when a guy attempted a backflip in motorcross
the was a long fall as well...he broke a lot of ribs...
Im suprised this guy walked away from that...
He was definately out of breath for a long time after that fall
Well, that makes my mind up.
Before I personally compete again in a skateboarding event like that, I'm asking for a small parachute. Or guide wires. Something. And I'm going to super-glue my shoes on, too. Footage like that affects everyone in skateboarding. Y'all just think you've heard the real story of how I ended up in a cervical collar after spinal surgery!
yeah I saw it live the whole neiborhood here went silent and said OOOOOHHHHH all at once.
super glue your shoes, that would be even worse, that happened cus he had way too much speed after pumping up the tranny so he got the speed wobbles. if he were strapped he'd probably have gone off at an angle and landed in the crowd. mighta been less painfull tho :)

that 720 was pretty sick though. it got me all excited and then when i saw him fall my cup runeth over with joy. lol ive never said that before it sounds real lame.

yup.... the dude who fell... but he ddin't fall in this one, it said he failed to negotiate a 540 last time...
he made it this time... lol
I heard the fall messed up his liver somehow and he's in the hospital still...hopefully he has a full recovery.
this is why i dont even touch skateboards. theyre evil!

think it stops there? nope... the damn skateboard goes shooting off at rocket speed, hits a chainlink fence that was really old and decrepit... it acts as a rubberband, sending it right back, at nearly the same velocity into my ribs....
damn those supercross races tonight were pretty good. some of the people i coulda beat tho... :wtf:

That was a sick trick!!! I have to say I shit my nickers when I saw him drop form that height though. It's good to see that he got up and walked away, I wish him the best for his recovery.

I watched a skate video like way back when when I used to skate of a fellow doing the Leap of Faith. I'm thinking his name was Jamie something, but it was like a 72 stair drop. I think he busted his ankle doing so as well.
Some skaters are hardcore though man. I bet he broke his tailbone. Can't be casted or anything but rather crushed in. Happened to a friend of mine while he was snowboarding and his ass ever since then was literally flat. Don't ask how I know as he was the kind of person to get naked in public after too many drinks. ;)
