Anonymous Letter I got in the mail

Yes its true. It really happened. So here's the story..


It all began one beautiful day in Texas. I had just left work to get some lunch at a drive thru and I was pulling out of the parking lot onto a 3 lane one way road that had the first lane closest to me blocked off with orange cones so all the traffic was concentrated in the other two lanes. Well it was congested because of the lane being closed so I pulled up so that the front of my car was in blocked off lane so I could merge into traffic. The back of my car was blocking the sidewalk. Well all of a sudden I see this woman coming with a baby stroller and a 7 year old kid and I expected that she would just go behind me and not want to go out in front my car closest to traffic being that she had a baby stroller and all and that it is a construction area. Well she comes up and walks to the front of the car and gives me this "go to hell" look. So I'm ok..... I guess she thinks I should back up so I immediately put my car in reverse and start to back up when she exclaims loudly " Oh just forget it you fucking jerk !!! " I mean I was backing up for her and she still sad that ? It made me mad for two reasons.... One...she was very rude and said it in a tone that really struck a nerve in me for some reason, and second she was doing this in front of her 7 year old son.... I mean what kind of example does that set for him?
Well it made me so mad that I decided I was going to say something to her. I was trying to think of something to say that would really strike a nerve with her because I was so mad. I pull up next to her at the corner and exclaim " Keep walking bitch, you only have 75 more pounds to go". And then her mouth dropped and drove away.
Well the next day I go to get my mail in my mailbox and notice there is a letter in there without a stamp on it. And on the envelope it has my full name written real big with a green marker and middle initial is a D. Then there is this arrow pointing to the D... that says... "I bet I can guess what this stands for".
Then I open it and there is a letter in there that reads the following....

"What rage you must have in your miserable excuse for a life. This can only explain why you would holler foul language at a mother with her two children, did it make you feel tough? What a real man you must feel like.

I can't believe that you have the honor of being a father by whether by choice (Thank you) or because your "man hood" prevents you from doing so (thank god).

By the way that woman and children that you felt the need to vent at happen to be the wife and children of a POLICE OFFICER of 10 years in this city which is how we found you so fast.

I would be very careful to follow all road laws in the future !!!

I am also considering a civil suit. Foul language in the presence of children is considered legal slander.

How ashamed (My mothers full name) would be if i called her at 555-353-6236 .

Yes, I even have your employers name and address tough guy !!!

I realize I was out of line by saying that. I feel bad for doing it now that I reflect back on it. I was stepping down to her level when I did that. I should have taken the high road but unfortunately I didn't. Any comments or suggestions ?

you definitely shouldn't go the house that's just not a good idea specially since dude's a cop, but u should go to IAB and explain the situation to them cuz he basically violated ur privacy by finding out where u lived and mentioning ur mom

Not only did the officer most likely violate some kinda privacy law by using his means of employment to gain very personal information he most definitely committed a felony when he "tampered" with your mail by placing an unstamped letter in their that obviously wasn't delivered by a federal employee with the rights to do so (mail carrier).

In short, fuck him and you by no means acted out line. Sure, it wasn't necessary that you yell that out but I woulda felt the same way and probably done somethin similar...whatever light one up.

I try my best to restrain myself in these situations. I remember some fucktard was getting gas like me, and we both waited....but he waited too long and he lost his spot because I jumped on that shit. Boo hoo hoo!!! Boo hoo hoo!!! Lol so he gets out and calls me a fucking asshole. As I said...I am not violent but we exchanged words. I was being the mature on and this guy was older, probably in his 60s. Although there was PLENTY I could have said and the cops probably would have been there if I really wanted to start something.

You did not threaten her at all. You both just exchanged words over something very stupid.

If she has a problem with pedestrian/driver relations, than she shouldn't be out walking in the first place.

Internal Affairs, States Attorney, DA, Chief of police, the media, his congressman/woman, senator and gov.

How does a cop stay on the force for ten years pulling stunts like that?

Just call up a local TV station, take them to the exact spot for some pictures, she probably lives close to that spot, so her neighbors might know who it was.

Describe her as a "heavy-set woman" and any details about the child, so the cops co-workers will recognize her too. Mumble something about getting state troopers involved, and 'whoa is me, who can I turn to when the police are the bad guys', play it up, you *are* the victim here.

Thats the easiest way to get everyone to pay some attention, maybe national.

It may just be easier 2 write a letter of apology (citing your bipolar, your dog died that day, you just got dumped, some bullshit...) Choose your battles wisely! Appologize, wait a few months, then execute revenge (anonymously)!!!

anyways, report it. the letter could easily be seen as a border line threat, and all though i DOUBT it would result in any type of repremand from his commanding officer... he'd definately atleast be warned.... then if at a later time you did get 'in trouble' and you could somehow show that he targeted you, rather then just doing his job... it could result in repremand from his CO....

Cops HATE to get their pic in the paper and they especially hate being on the 6 o'clock news..... It doesn't make internal affairs real happy either.

There's really no way to prove that it was the cop who did it though. It could have been the wife or it could have been a friends or even some random person.

If an investigation is made out of this it won't be hard to find out who it is in the end. It's obvious it is from an officer since they have all of this guys details, also I'm sure your mum could make a complaint about this also since they invaded her privacy too. The point being that if the OP points out the woman who confronted him they can then find out who's wife she is therefore leading them to the officer who sent the letter.

I really hope the OP does something about this rather than stand by and let the cop have the last laugh. It's because of things like this that we as a people loose more freedoms because we allow authorities to walk all over us and then do nothing about it.

This is a sticky legal situation, your right to privacy was obviously stepped on but not entirely legally infringed. Either way you should so this to BIA and see where it goes.
