Is the "red" at the base of the stem, or on the top? soil or hydro? It sounds like Magnesium def. to me, could be nute lockout from unbalanced Ph, I would try watering it with 2 tsp. of epsom salts added to 1 gal. of water (don't use the whole gallon, that's just the mixture) but before you do all that look here: Overgrow-Plant Trouble
L0rdsOth :D
soil...the red originates from the point theorigin of one particular leaf set...it stretches from the leaf down toward the main stem...2 inches on one stem, 1 inch on two other stems. All three stems originate from the same point just below what will be a top cola. The red in the stem does not extend into any leaf matter...just the stem.
not ph...should I increase fertilizer..? one of my liquid ferts has mag...lights out now considering foliar feeding at point of attack...whats the house opinion guys
it might be normal, it may look like purple too, the steams that hold the leafs, are sometimes colored. dont worry... try to post a picture
the plant looks healthy otherwise....lots a budding sights...the lady is an unknown sativa..the color started bright but is now a maroon...purplish color...all 4 now peace...
i'v seen no problem with the rednesses. all plants with the coloring are healthy and maybe even stronger than the others, with more flowers from more nodes! if u ever lose a plant like ur saying i'd be surprised. 1 thing different is it might grow up higher faster than the others so raise it closer to your light until its levelled out with your others. thats all they needed. they'l make more yield,,,you'l see. don't prune the tops of them ones, u don't have to! and it is more likely more on the indica type,,,a little wider leaves has what u'v got.

Shes a SATIVA...but thx...got the same advise from a friend I trust on the subject....my upmost grattitude for all the help, to one and all! I guess I'll just wait and see...she is a beauty other than the stem thing....peace
purple is good. probly indica
Red stems can be a result of over fertalization also. Have any of the leaves begun to curl over at all?
RED STEMS CAN BE CAUSED BY THE ROOM BEING TO COLD AS WELL,WHAT'S YOUR TEMP LIKE,BUT IN A LOT OF STRAIN'S REDISH-PURPLE STEM'S ARE QUITE NORMAL,MY JOCK HORROR HAS A REDISH-PURPLE STEM AN SHE'S DOING JUST FINE AN DANDY,BUDDING ALL OVER THE PLACE! LOVE AN RESPECT..SPLIFFBUILDER
OK guys I am gonna watch her...we got maroon stems on fan leaves...just on top o the plant....the space varies between 64-74 degrees F... been dealing with slight leaf curl on the older fan leaves for a while now...plant looks great other than this and discolorization in stems....4 0r 5 weeks from harvest....gueass well see
..........its easy to say u have about a 50/50 strain of sativa and indica. ........some strains have even more purplish on them right to even showing it on the flowers........they will grow better , easier, and faster than many kinds.............always keep a clone of that strain until u know which types they were.Quote:

you sure seem to know your shit...props guy! PS- whatever it is, its budding like mad...
.............your plants" ancestors have been for many years been grown indoor in a hurry with faster and faster results.......so your girls will grow even better than its parents........and gowing up beside a different strain,u say better, will make it even better next yield........Happy Growing!!Quote:

This plant...bag seed gal...starting at the top leaves...has developed a purple color all the way down into the main stem...plant appears completely healthy...flourishing at the beginning of week5 (flowering)...mm wide white hairs and crystal formations beginning at dozens of budding sights...wondering if she will have purple buds...so far the color is confined to the stem...I think it is a sigh the plant is reaching maturity...all I can say is read all you want...do it and the future knowledge gained is invaluable...thats all right now...peace
