A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
All right so my weekend plans got a bit fooked.
I'd meant to head up to Vermont for the weekend but ended up stuck in boring ol' MA instead... so Saturday afternoon I'm out on the river with a girlfriend and a sixer and a couple kayaks. REALLY hot day, we're just chilling on the beach, my fishing buddy calls to get in on the inaction, brings his canoe down, and just as he's unloading his canoe, the fucking SKY opens up. I could not believe how hard it started raining. He gets over to the beach and we're trying to light a joint in the rain, no luck.
No problem for Donk, he picks up his canoe and THROWS it in the river... UPSIDE DOWN.
The short version of the story is that the three of us ended up clambaking inside an overturned canoe up to our necks in the Connecticut river with a summer afternoon rainstorm pounding down on the hull.
Good times. It was the SILLIEST thing I have ever done in my fucking LIFE.

Holy shit.. I HAVE TO TRY THAT!
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
I actually COULD try that out tomorrow at work, we've got a few canoes. But the river might be a bit too deep. It's probably about 7 foot of water and 4 foot of silt. Needs dredging really. Sound like you had fun though. hahaha. :)
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
my dad used to do that with an ice chest
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)

-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)

lol I'd been in Newport the weekend before and was so thoroughly disgusted by the slow-moving tourists, the snooty clothes-horse rich bitches, the traffic, and the COMPLETE lack of parking that I will never go there again between May and September. Good BBQ downtown helped make up for the hour it took to find a parking spot.
I like the OTHER side of Naragansett though- Wickford area I think- I used to take my sunfish down there to sail.
But my idea of a good vacation involves driving NORTH.

stinky I totally want to smoke under a canoe with you!
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
Tell ya what, we will have to find a HUGE canoe, like one that the fur-trappers used to use, and have a giant Canncom Northeast Region Clambake.
Rules are:
-No mexischwag
-No kiefed Beasters
-You must get out from under the canoe if you have to fart
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
Ok I'm not doing it if I have to follow the last rule..... :D
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
Okay fine, you get the butt plug then.

Nah, its the Bure.
I wouldnt get in any of them, the amount of shit in them in astounding.
You got water, mud, diesel in there for sure, and i dont really want to know what else lol. But i've fallen in so many times im used to it now.
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
ah, the Bure yeah. I've been in the broads many a time, as i used to sail. Haven't done it for a couple of years now. I've saying for a while to my mates that we should hire a broads crusier, couple of crates and a couple of Oz. Go on a little boat trip, haha...
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
Buzz if you do that I'm coming whether you like it or not. I'm a respectable sailor myself. And the prospects for clambaking the cabin of a weekend cruiser.... oh, HAHAHAHA PERFECT!!! Shit, I'll bet you could squeeze 4 people into a San Juan 21 and shut the storm hatch... :D
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
haha, sounds good! Just been waiting for some good weather really, it's the first nice day today for god knows how long... I think I'm going to go and chill out in the garden again...
love the canoe idea btw, i'd love to do that one day, but not here because I'd probably get cholera...
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
We're lucky the boatyard didnt flood when we had the rain. The river got up almost a foot, good job it didnt come over. It's happened before though, came staight over the quay heading and came up to the reception bit.
I can get any boat you like for free, 22 foot to 48 foot. Well, not for free, but you can take it out for the day.
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
There's nothing more resourceful than a bunch of stoners smoking in the rain!:stoned:
Good clean fun!
-
A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
I think the clambake has just become a tradition!
You can see the smoke.
The hat tree is our hats (well duh). All Boston hats, just in different colors: Donk= faded and dirty green, Jimbo=dirty grey, can't tell what color it used to be, Me= green, on the way to becoming about the same as the others. They all got sorta wet.

A real New England Clambake =p (there's an overturned canoe involved)
