i know this has been discussed....

but not to this extent... or this part of it atleast... it's two questions...

it's about PM's... i know the reason we can't have them, but i'm curious...

is there no way they can be monitored? like at all? if they could, do you think then we could have pm's? for added security maybe make it so you have to have a crap load of posts (500-1000?) to be able to use it so you know it's not someone just spamming to get the pm service...

just wondering... i don't like beating a dead horse but i'm curious... and i'd realy like to see a way for pm's to be even a remote possibility.. (i really do dislike using outside messangers and emails, always have =/)

maybe even have one specific mod for the job of monitoring them... someone with alot of time on their hands (like me :D) and make the punishments for abusing it extreme... (month long to perma-bans?)

wouldn't it make that 'server is too busy please try again later' message pop up more?

Logistically it's just not practical. We have to maintain our integrity as a place that doesn't enable hookups, even remotely, and the storage capacity for PM capabilities would be considerable for as many members as we have. I think Sundance has his mind firmly made up on that one, and I have to agree with him. Makes me shudder to think how much additional mod work that'd add to the load here!

I think it'd be alright if it was just for those with over 10,000, coz not only is that hardly any, with 10,000 posts i think we're trusted. But meh, i just use the rep system to talk privately.

Yeah but you can only send one message to person per week or something lol.

I think you can PM people with the chat... Im not sure though.

10,000? Lol thats like 5 people at most....

Exactly. That'd mean it wouldnt be a strain on the server, and with 10 thou im pretty sure it's obvious we're not kids spamming and trying to get hookups.

i think although i havnt got 10.000 posts .. i think that almost 2 years of membership should make me qualify for it:D lol
