I need the name of this movie! Help!

Ok, I need the name of this movie that I saw about a year ago. It was funny as hell! Here's what I remember.

It was a "black" movie

In the first part, the black guy is in prison but he is leaving and laughs at the other prisoners

When he gets out of prison , he runs into an old friend and they smoke a blunt. his friend was in a stolen car and they get caught by the cops. a shoot out begins and the friend gets shot in the butt while the main character gets away but the whole think is caught on film and is shown on TV.

He has a dream where the cops come after him and hes like "i aint goin back to jail!" and the cops bust down the door and shoot him.

the dad tells the main character "thats what happens when you smoke that pipe!"

Ugh, I just remembered that movie, but not the name. Did it have ice cube in it? I think I saw it when I was looking through channels one night, but who knows.

I saw that movie. The guy was on probation and he had two stirkes in calis three strike law thing and he has to avoid another crime or he;; get locked up forever. This has been on upn. I was just thinking of it the other week and the name is ont he tip of my tongue

it was made before friday was because you can see ice cubes dad watching it on the tv for a brief moment in the scene (in the movie the original poster was talking about) where the dog was chasing the guy

oh, correction: Friday was made in '95 and this crappy movie (Friday (1999) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies) was made in '99 and i thought that one was the real Friday when I looked it up.
