Let's have a thread to celebrate the Golden Era of music! (Imho).
I love how there was often much more of a focus on the instrumentals than the lyrics...and in a melodic way, not a fast/technical way like metal...

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE!
Anyone ever hear of the band called Blue Cheer? They were not to bad. And Canned Heat, Jeff Beck.
Blue Cheer is still around, and touring. They have a new album coming out in Aug. 2007. I had their hit record Summertime Blues, which was even heavier than the version The WHO did.Quote:

Most of the original members of Canned Heat are dead, but the band's legacy survives with one original member (the drummer, I think), and 3 new ones. Haven't heard them. I've still got my old vinyl copy of Boogie With Canned Heat, as well as several other albums by them.
Man oh man, there was some good shit back then...
My uncle saw the mighty Zeppelin live! God, I'd have given ANYTHING to do that...
Terry Reid(from devils rejects movie)He was actually first choice for the singer in Led Zeppelin.

i love it i love it i love it
country joe and the fish
zeppelin
jefferson airplane
and that's just my top three :hippy:
I haven't seen Velvet Underground mentioned so I think their name should be thrown out there. They were pioneers. The 60's-70's were amazing. Ever since Grunge and Sublime left the scene music has really gone downhill. :( And its sad b/c the 90's cannot compare to the 60-70's.
And Nico and White Light/White Heat are two of my all time fav albumsQuote:
