That's how I do my multiplication already. Its so much easier that way. My husband thinks I'm weird. We actually raced once time and I beat him.

Thats nice! The math behind it is the same of the "normal" way, but this way seems a bit more practical than the "normal" way.

Horrible waste of time. I could have done 5-10 problems in the time that fool did the one.

If he tries that in an exam he's screwed.

It would come in handy when you don't have a calculator, but I already know how to do multiplication without a calculator. As of right now, it just seems like it would be too strenuous to learn a new method. I chose Other in the poll, because I don't find it to be a waste of time, I just don't find it useful learning a new method since I've been using a different one for the majority of my life. Learning a new method would just complicate things. I'm a math minor so things like this fascinate me. Thanks slipknot.
