Hey everyone, im in the heart of new mexico and got me a crop finally ! 2-150 HPS lights, 2 DWC Hydro kits. 8 plants total. Using GH veg and bloom w/Koolbloom for the last 2 weeks of flowering. Ph is 6-6.5, temp is a little higher because of the desert heat about 80-85 during the light hours and 76-80 at night. I have a swag, White rhino, NLXBB. Im looking for clones or beans to trade..anyone? peace in new mexico Ollie:hippy:

This is a close up at 6 weeks of flowering. Using GH Veg and bloom. I will start using the Koolbloom in another week or so. Do they look small for there age? I have a 400 hps but it was way too much heat. Is it because of the strains? Mostly sativa I believe, will they put on more weight? peace

They do look a little small for 5 weeks. And real skinny branches so you wouldn't expect skinny branches to produce big buds anyways. Maybe you need some better lights. Just don't cut too early and eventually they should get to a decent size where you will like. Even if it takes 10 weeks or more.
yeah i figured if i waited lober than the tipical 8 weeks they should get bigger. I guess the 2-150's werent enought light so they streched hence the thin braches. Im gonna fire up a 400 hps and see but its this new mexico heat I have to worry about indoors. Now its about 84 in the closet with the ac on and 3 fans!!
84 is fine. My room some times reaches temps up to 90 and they are fine. Not saying that you shouldn't try to bring it down, always should try to make it better but it can be tolerated.
thanks orangeman...so if the heats is up that high it should only affect the denseness and weight right? I only have 2-3 weeks left till i cut them, if they dont seem to gain weight in the next week or two ill cut them early and wait a month or two for the next crop. Or maybe try my luck with a CFL grow because of the heat in new mexico. peace Ollie
I dunno how much heat affects density or weight because one of my plants are getting dense in these high temps and it surrre is packing weight. Those things are hanging over like crazy right now lol I need support for them. I have heard of too much heat messing with those two things but maybe only in scorching hot grow rooms or rooms without at least some breeze of cool air. My room may be hot but the fan keeps it all good and just opening the door cools that room off a lot.

Here are the ladies at 8 weeks, the shwag is a good sativa/indica mix, nice dense budz with a spicy peppery smell and taste. I sampled all of them last night..lol..couldnt wait. The white rhino was a little smaller but ripe at 8 weeks, its coming down this weekend. The NLxBB still needs 3 weeks but the budz are already good size. The heat was very high inside and out..even with my new ac unit the temp inside was 84 F, I also have my 400 hps fired up in the pic instead of the 2-150's, i wanted to see if more light gave more weight before harvest and I believe it did. :jointsmile: Ill keep you all posted on the NLxBB grow....peace out from new mexico[attachment=o147544]
one way is to vent it , another is cfl , a combination of all these would be the best to me , u can get cfls and use hps for 6 hours somewhere on the middle opf the day , the temps dont affect that much the flower its self as the temps in a bright light day of august under the sun may reach 50c its the roots that need to be in excact temps so to have best floral production (22-28) , try making the intake of the venting at the bottom so to let the soil chill before fresh air gets heated
They're lookin beautiful! I'm glad you were able to get a 400 watter. For your next grow you should see much better results! Now if only I could do something about the heat in my room so I can get one as well lol.
I figured if the roots were cooler than the air around the plant its ok but if the roots get too warm then the plant starts to wilt..I did move the vent fan lower..right infront of the water resevoir to keep the water cooler and it seems to work. The 400 hps is bad ass, its actually cooler than the 2-150's. A lot more weight too from the 400. still 83 F inside...peace
Cool but make sure the temp of that soil doesn't get tooo low. You don't want root rot. Also I'm just noticing the mini garden at the bottom lol. I like that :).
yeah im using 2 - 65 watt cfl lights of america lights for the clones and mothers, saving genetics for further use..lol...anyone need any WhiteRhino or NLxBB clones? lol..
I fuckin wish there was some way I could get them sent here haha.
Humm...anyone else see an add about a clone mailing container? Ive seen them in cannabis culture mag, they hold like 8-10 clones in a plastic mailer? If so do they work cause we need to start trading everyone..lol..!!:rastasmoke:

Alright folks here are some pics of the WhiteRhino harvest. These beans were from Nirvana, grown in DWC, using ferz: GH veg/flower and a little KoolBloom the last 2 weeks. The temps were hotter than hell inside, about 81-85F when lights are on. Down to 77F at night. Humidity was at about 20-30 average only because of my evaporative cooler. I started with 2-150's but got alot of streching so the last 2 weeks i fired up my 400 hps, hoping to add more weight, and it did!! The WhiteRhino finished in 8 weeks!! Thats the fastest finisher Ive grown yet!! I used my food deydrator because I couldnt wait then cured them in a jar for about 36 hrs. Yield was 1oz dried per 30 inch plant. The high was excellent!! Everyone experienced numb mouth and teeth..lol..giggles but a very heavy head and zoning out..forgetting to blink..lol..and crazy munchies...[attachment=o148649]

I'll keep ya up on the schwag sativa and the NLxBB grow. The sativa has huge colas that are bending the plant over, its got prob about 2 weeks left before harvest. The NLxBB also has about 2 weeks left. Both plants are about 4ft tall with budz everywere. Same nutrients as the WR. I cloned my WhiteRhino and NLxBB but the shwag bagseed sativa was just a experimental grow I guess. I cant type anymore..i can barely see the screen straight..lol..:jointsmile:
Wow that's gonna be some serious dank haha. I think I'm growing....nvm, every time I a thread with a strain that appeals to me I say that. I might as well buy a farm so I can grow every strain I want. Which is like 40 different strains lol..
i can never decide on strains, i just pick a random indoor strain and go with it..lol..even some good bagseed works out sometimes..its all in the grower:thumbsup:

I'm verry glad that u managed to fight out the Mexican temps im puting a chart that shows the oxygen saturation levels according the water temperature
Temperature(F/C) O2 Sat Lvl (mg/l-ppm)
41/5 - 13.0/14.8
59/15 - 9.5-10.8
68/20 - 8.8-9.4
77/25 - 7.9-8.5
86/30 - 7.4-7.8
As u can see the lower the temps the greater the amount of O2 the water can hold
Try to move the conteiner close to the a/c so to get the maximun "coolness"
In my case ambient temps right this moment are 44c+ , using 400hps +a/c i get room temp of about 26-28 .By placing the plant's pot to the main strem of air that ac brings out i get 23-24 at the pot , that lets me move the lamp very close to the plant as the heat that builds up at the visible part of the plant to be fightened by the cooled roots ( ofcourse i have 2 fans blowing on plant/lamp )
my hydro set up is a good one i made myself, the water always stays cooler no matter how hot it gets in the closet. My fan blows on the sides of the dwc unit and the shade from the plants keeps the dwc unit cool. water temp is no higher than 74F. Im worried about the fall and winter though because here in the desert it gets cold and snows sometimes. Im gonna have to change evrything from a hot season to cold season, which is adding heaters, less fans, close of ac vents, add more lights for more heat..on and on...I guess i need to move again to a more suitable indoor grow area. The desert is great for outdoor but indoor is very hard..new mexico grower
Alrighty folks its time for a pic or two of the schwag sativa(which is almost ripe, another 10-14 days will be perfect) on its 9th week. No were near the same amount of trichromes as the whiterhino but most pure sativas dont. Anyway she put on a lot of weight and when rubbed smells like asian fresh cut ginger, like the stuff in sushi..lol...maybe its time for me to eat. But this is as close as I can get with this camera. Still another 10 days for the NLxBB too. Ill get some pics of it later.[attachment=o149193]

here is a close up of the sativa, she smells more like ginger but sweet..humm..gingersnaps? sounds like a good name for her..lol.my whiterhino clones are doing excellent as is my gingersnap clones, im growing the clones in 2x2 rockwool cubes with sunshine mix in 12oz cups. Im noticing that growing soil during the high heat months yield better for me than the hydro, I start to get algea and high amounts of water evaporation plus i cant afford a water chiller.

thanks everyone, the NLxBB are putting on there last bit of weight. They are on week 8 starting today. About 40% brown hairs and smell sweet. I took some clones from her with budz on them. Does anyone know about rejuvinating plants? My other rooted clones are going back into the veg cycle but look kinda sickly? Is this normal for rejuvination? peace
