Where can I find ditchweed?

I live in the midwest, in the united states, and I keep hearing about how it's quite common apparently to see all of these ditchweed aka industrial hemp plants in the midwest. Well, I live by an abundance of cornfields, and have been looking for them while riding in cars but to no avail. Where do they live? I'd like to see them for myself. Obviously I'd smoke a bud, probably to no avail, as I heard they don't contain enough of anything to get you high, just a headache, but oh well, I want to try it for myself, I'd dry and cure it, and smoke it, and if it doesn't work, then oh well, I'll just smoke regular weed, lol.

But, if you happen to be fortunate enough to live by wild hemp ditchweed whatever you want to call it, could you tell me where it usually lives? I've heard around traintracks, but in what states specifically? Because I don't want to waste my time walking on a traintrack to no avail.

Oh yeah, if you have any pictures to post, that would be preferable.

I live in the midwest as well and I've never stumbled upon any ditchweed whatsoever. I have some good friends who recently moved to southern Illinois and they've mentioned seeing some 'wild hemp plants' along several different train tracks.

Honestly though man, it's really not worth your time. It's just not going to get you high. I mean, unless you find some real, 100% female buds, you're probably not going to get anything more than a buzz. If that. Who knows though. You can always give it a try. The real trouble is finding the shit...

Yeah, as far as getting real bud, that's no problem. It's more just out of wanting to see it for myself. I think it would be amazing to just see a wild mature cannabis plant especially in a place where it's illegal.

How would you suggest me going about finding them? Should I just walk along a train track?

man if it was me i wouldnt bother to waste my time when i could be gettn high 4 real off real shit...... Unless you jus need to go on an adventure. I live here also, and neva have i seen it. But good luck wit whateva you wanna do...

walk the railroad tracks ... I'm from Peoria, Illinois, originally ... during WWII, Peoria had a huge rope factory (Broderick & Bascom) downtown, along the river ... railroad cars full of industrial hemp supplied the rope factory on a round-the-clock schedule ... while railroad cars full of hemp, came from all directions, the seeds would roll out the doors, and grow along the tracks ... it is sprayed every year with poison, but they've never been able to stamp it out (that I know of, I've been gone from there 25 years) ... regardless, you can find hemp/cannabis growing 10-15 feet tall frequently ... unless you are gonna make some great rope, it has no purpose ... smoking a ton of it won't get you high, but you can still sit in jail because of it ... (I can personally vouch for that :wtf:) ... besides, it has been sprayed with every chemical the Gov't. can come up with for the last 60 years ... best to avoid it ... :smokin:

Go to the I-30 bridge between Nebraska and Iowa...under that bridge on the Iowa side is a HUGE field of green. Another spot in Nebraska is in Freemont by the railroad tracks.......can't miss it! Just look for the 12 ft. plants swaying in the breeze.

None of it is worth a shit for smokin' but sure is pretty to look at.:thumbsup:

I live in oklahoma, and there's a few spots around my rural area in the country where there's huge patches of ditchweed growing..thousands and thousands of plants...nothing special, just a nice sight...nothing you're going to get anything but seeds off of anyways...there are females, but way way too many males to allow there to be much of anything as far as a bud goes..I plan on getting pics sometime...they'll be posted here..just don't know when we'll go back out there..

A hemp plant could have MORE trichomes than any other cannabis plant, but that doesnt mean anything. The trichomes dont get you stoned. It's what's in them. You could have lots of trichomes with a tiny tiny % of THC, and there you go, you wont get stoned.

Right, that's a fact, that I try to tell people, but they insist that trichomes ARE thc, lol.

Well, cannabis is a large part of my life. I think nothing would be more fulfilling, than to be out in the open sun, laying in a field of any type of cannabis. I'd probably smoke a joint (of regular kind bud) with the plants. If there are any vegging plants, I would take a clone, and root it, and grow it for decoration. If there are mature plants with buds, and there are many plants, so by taking a pound or so wouldn't make a difference, and I'd be positive it's feral, and not someones crop, I'd take a pound of buds that aside from being seeded would look beautiful, for decoration. I can see myself using them in photo shoots, and for examination.

I am not a drug dealer, and never intend to become one, as I'm a daily smoker, and smoke all of my herb, never sell it, to someone who may not appreciate it as much as I do.

image reaper, you must not be familiar with a lot of my posts, because if so, you would know i'm not an asshole, i always help out when I can, and post positive comments on grow logs. I never post negative comments only constructive criticism. As I've stated, I smoke high quality cannabis, every day of my life. If I was desperate to get high, I would buy brickweed. If I wanted to deal drugs, I would have by now, by selling the real thing not a rip off, as that's just wrong.

No, the reason I am fascinated with "ditchweed" is because it is cannabis. It is Cannabis that once was legal here, but then things changed. Yet, these plants after all these years, and after all the misunderstanding of the cannabis plant, still sprout year after year.

As far as risking jail time, if I ever came across ditchweed, I would do my best to make sure it's not a set up, before approaching the plants.

I would wait until it went to seed, then collect a bucket of the seeds. Then I would sow it on every piece of unused land I could find, just to make life a little harder for the DEA. :)

I have alwase wanted to collect a big trashbag full 60,000 seeds or more and spread them all around untuched opened fields.

but it would take for ever to collect that many seeds.
