Loving yourself . . .

Now i have gone years trying to love others, and love life. I lost all touch with myself and at one point had no idea who i was or what i have become. I then realized until i love myself i can not love anyone else to the fullest. Who here loves them selfs and accepts who they are? and who they will become knowing that its your life and whatever happens you will always have your loved ones? Now i know their are people out their with no one, But when i was in this state of mind i always remembered my friends became my family when my family was never really their...

I'm happy that I'm alive, and I accept who I am.

But to be honest, I don't think I love myself. What I done in my lifetime, I don't think anyone could.

Meh it's a love-hate thing most of the time, but recently I actually have noticed that I like me for me, and don't really try and hide the fact that I'm really "out-there" or whatever lol...

For the first time my personality isn't taking a backseat to what I think I should be like...I just roll with it like three six mafia does ya know. So far the rolling is going really well, and to my dismay, people aren't turning the other way when I walk into a room..

I have done a lot in my lifetime already that i am not proud of. But i came to realize they were just mistakes and everyone person has the power in them to change them selfs. Its a past experience in which we are moving into the future so why bring it with us? I honestly believe if you can learn from your mistakes then you will be okay in life. BUT for killers and rapes their is no escape.. you have already damaged not only the person you hurt, but their entire family friends and social unit.

Good words have some rep for that, yes i know what you mean you all have made an opinion and feeling towards all the people you know but you have to make one about yourself first and like the person you are.

I dont LOVE myself, but I LIKE myself. Sure, theres some things that Ive done that Im not particularly proud of, and theres some things Ive done that I am proud of. I used to wish I could undo my mistakes, but Ive learnt that mistakes are one of the most valuable things in life - because you can LEARN FROM YOURSELF.

It took me until I was almost 16 to realize this, and you are right. Until you can love and accept yourself unconditionally, you cant fully love others because you will always be at least a little busy feeling sorry for yourself. I was doing alot of it, and Im glad I got out of that depression funk. Just like everybody else, Ive done some incredibly fucked up shit. And if my psychotic ass is saying its fucked up... its gotta be some FUCKED UP SHIT. But like others have said, its what made me who I am. I wouldnt give up the worst pains and tortures, trials and tribulations in my life for all the world... they are why I am so strong willed. I embrace my psychosis and in doing so, am able to finally control it the way it was meant to be controlled. When I have reached a point in my life when I no longer need to utilize my hatred as fuel to drive me further, I can release it completely and maybe then I will achieve my nirvana. Until then all I can do is keep on loving! And storing my frustrations and hate deep down for when I might need to use that explosive fuel. Its so unstable and scary though.. :( I havent used it since I was 14, and it scared the shit out of me. I gotta periodically find ways to release it when it starts gettin towards the bottleneck.

To answer the question definitely: Yes I love myself absolutely and unconditionally. If YOU cant love yourSELF... who the fuck can?? Thats how I looked at it. I had to attain a bit of a blunt outlook... you cant really ease out of depression, you gotta slap yourself the fuck out of it lol :p

I love myself deeply, but I sometimes don't like myself, if that makes any sense.

With my lifes experiences, I have figured out that I do like myself, and like the things that I have been able to do for the benifit of others and mankind in general. Everybody has done stuff that they are not especially proud of in their past. Love is objective, some times more than others. I thought I was in love...twice. I was wrong both times. Gotta hate it when that happens.
I am content with just liking myself for now.

I love myself and know that my loved ones will be here for me. I would love a little meter on top of my head to let everyone know how much I'm feeling horrible about myself, and not them.

Great idea for a thread blazin...I am happy with who I am..but I am also very self critical. Ive never really thought about lovin myself ,I love my girl my kids my life but myself I dont know abt that. When in conversation some one says that guy loves himself it usually means either he s a body builder that kisses his biceps in the mirror,or a gay guy with expensive clothes. Lets just say Im happy with who I am .:)

To be happy, you HAVE to love yourself.
Besides family, it's the only thing you have.

Of course I love myself. Not in a selfish way, but in an appreciative way. I am very happy to have the awesome opportunity to be alive...to be that one little zoid who made it inside the egg first!

I agree with you Blazin It; when you love yourself, you don't have to worry about others bringing you down as much...thus allowing your mind to get in sync with the other person rather than judging them or even yourself.

It's very physically and mentally healthy to love yourself !! Please do!
