Daytona Beach (A Weed Story)

Today was a great day for me and my second love marijuana. I recently

moved to Florida and live in a quiet community just north of Daytona. Iâ??m not

in school anymore and work at a job where marijuana use is absolutely

forbidden, in fact it is so not a part of the culture I work in that they do not

drug test, because itâ??s unimaginable that someone could use Mj and be able

to do the job. So the short of it is, itâ??s really hard to find a connect for weed

is place where nobody you know does it, and the only people who look like

possible hookups immediately steer away when they see that Iâ??m clean cut

and usually wearing slacks. Well I decided to rectify the situation by ordering

a pack of White Rhino seeds from nirvana; But the 3 month wait is

intolerable. Looking through the local boards it always seems like people are

basically begging for a connect, and say that they donâ??t know anyone.

Peoples obvious response is get out and youâ??ll meet someone. I sympathize

with the former because if your social situation is not geared toward putting

you in contact with people that smoke itâ??s hard to break in as a complete

outsider who does not know any friends in the area. On the other hand I see

the logic of the people that just tell the people to get out and let the weed

find you, it seems due to the casual culture surrounding MJ, most

transactions are done with someone you hardly know, but will slap skin with

and be like â??cool manâ?� Very laid back and natural are most weed deals.

So today I decided that I just got paid and I wanted some weed

and was like fuck it Iâ??ll just ask until I find it. I drove down to Daytona Beach

and stopped at one of those seedy weekly/efficiency hotels. I just went up

and knocked on a door (No fucking Idea who would answer it) An old guy

with these bugged out eyes came to the door, I smelled booze all over him,

and knew he wasnâ??t what I was looking for, â??so sorry wrong room, looking for

my friend is all�� a quick excuse and I decided to knock on the next door

down. After 2 knocks I thought to myself â??this is stupid, what the fuck are

you doingâ?� As I started to turn around a dude in his mid twenties and couple

of Tats answered, I used the previous excuse and started to turn away, but

before he shut the door I turned around and was like hey you know where to

get some trees. He was like... yeah but its gonna be a few hours, I was like

Iâ??m looking for a zip, he was like cool, we exchanged cell# and fake names,

then I was off to blow some time at the beach.

After walking around and enjoying the very nice tanned bodies on the

beach, I decided that the dude wouldnâ??t actually get weed and was full of s

shit (it had been less than an hour at this point), So I started looking for

people that seemed like good chances for finding a connect. Struck out w/ a

couple of teens sitting at a bus stop, Walked a block down the street, saw a

guy leaving a head shop, and gave it a shop. I asked him if he knew where I

can get some trees, he was like what you looking for. I told him a zip. He was

like come on give me a ride to the mainland. So we walked to my car and

talked small, I found out that he had just been arrested that morning for

having a quarter bag on him. We drove back to the mainland, and I was like

weâ??re we going, Iâ??m cool as long as itâ??s not Madison Ave. He was like whereâ??s

that, I was like that worst avenue in Daytona Beach, full of fiends and

bangers, and prostitutes, the one by the pink pony strip club. He cringed and

I knew that was where we were headed. I parked in front of a laundry matt.

The guy gets out and says heâ??ll go see about the trees, and runs across the

street to this trailer, thatâ??s surrounded by like 8 strung out looking white

people. I decided waiting in my car (midday) seemed conspicuous as hell, so

I got out and sat down in front of one the laundry matt. Beside me was a

rather large elderly black man and on the other side was a Puerto Rican

Hooker. They were having some kind of lively conversation, I sat down

between them and they asked me if I was working, I was like no. The dealer

guy ran back up to me and quoted me a price of 120 for a half of crypt. I

decided it fair, and was getting ready to get up when the hooker asked what

we weâ??re doing, the dealer guy was like he getting half a zip, she

asked â??Marijuana?â?� in a wondrous voice, I was like â??Uhh yeahâ?¦â?� and then we

ran over to the trailer together. The dealer guy was like one of the strung

out guys needed to run into the trailer park and get it. I almost never let

money leave my hand before I see what I want, just bad business, but this

time I decided to do so. I knew the trailer the guy called home, and if there

was a problem, I could get at him. No problems he came back 5 mins later

with some decent nugs Completed, I was walking across the street to my car

(out of state tags no less) When two cops pull up fast as hell, I got a half O

in my pocket and was like, be coo be cool, they jumped out and ran into the

trailer park, we jumped into the car , and as I was pulling away I saw the

cops dragging some dude out of the park with his front teeth missing and

blood coming from his mouth down his bare chest. We left and drove back to

the beach side of the city, and as I was going to drop off the dealer guy,

where I found him, my phone started ringing

It was the other guy I met at the hotel earlier, he said he had what I was

looking for, at $80 for the Oz. Deciding that weed was too rare of a

commodity I decided to meet him, even though I had a ½ of bud that I

hadnâ??t even smoked stashed under the passenger seat. I met up with him,

and I ended up giving the money to his brother while he sat with me as

collateral (fucking weird huh? Holding a person as collateral for weed money)

we ended up walking and talking about life up north and how it was so

different than life in FL. Turned out he was connoisseur/ leisure grower

himself, and we debated our favorite strains. After 10 mins his brother

showed up, and I cut them some herb from the ounce for doing me a

stranger the favor, as they were obviously middle men and not direct

dealers. Well got home smoked some of the Crippy and wrote this story.

Haha nice. I live up in Fort Lauderdale myself, but I'm down home in PR for vacation. Funny thing is I've developed the habbit of smoking over there, and that's where I have all my hookups. We know this jamaican guy that gets us quality kush at a good price. We also know where to get the good stuff with the red hairs... but here, I've been smokeless for a while, been thinking about cruising around and askin people but meh, think I'll stay clean for the next week and a half I'll be here.

Yeah, it sounds difficult to find connects when you move somewhere new. Luckily, I grew up here in Boston, so I have my connects. I'm sure there will come a time in my life where I'll need to go on the prowl, though.

sucks for all of you, I live in south Fla and the herb is flowing everywhere.........lol.

Esp Ft. Lauderdale, I used to chill a lot out there by the beach on the corner of Sunrise and A1A and its deff. a part of the local culture, me and my buddies met tons of people out there. Its pretty socially acceptable.


Idk about Daytona though, thats a tad north of me.
