This one's gonna set it off

So I was lookin to add to my collection and an old head had a big bag of some tasty original haze. Real good haze.

But lo and behold, about 1/10 of the bag had buds that were entirely purple (except for the stem).

I first smoked a purple one, and yep it tasted like haze and had that haze high. But it was a bit harsh.

Smoked a green one, softer, purer haze taste and stronger buzz.

I am going to get pictures as soon as I can because I am loving this.

I have always believed that "purple haze" is from original haze when there is a genetic mutation and that approximately every 1 in 1000 plants produces purple flowers, leaves and pistils. Oh and the purple buds in reality weren't as good as the green.

Really cool to have haze with purple buds, just excited. In all honesty this isn't the best haze I've ever had. No where near as good as the warlock or westside OG, but strong and unique enough to be very enjoyable. Oh, and the guy didn't even try and bullshit me and say it was purple haze. He didn't tell me any name, but this nose can smell a haze from a mile away (:

i'd describe the high as very up and frantic. Mind racer. Then it levels off to a nice stone, which then subsides with no burnout.

Any strain of weed can be grown to have purple hairs, it's all to do with the temperature.

Your nose can't smell a haze...I doubt that haze has a smell that any other good weed doesn't have.

The reason he didn't try to bullshit you is because unless you're buying from the grower, or a medicinal club, you can't guarantee a strain. 95% of the time what you might buy as 'Haze' or some other strain name is probably just good weed.

I don't know about you canadian's, but here in the northeast United States haze is king. The only other herb I have smelled that resembled haze was kali mist, which is 90% sativa anyways.

You can tell a good haze by look, taste and smell. I'm talkin original style hazes, none of that indica influenced sative high style haze shit. Strong sativas.

Small buds. The primo buds are small nuggets of soft cotton, you peel it apart, crystals galore. There are also usually long thin razor hairs left on smaller wispy buds, to protect the trichomes inside. It doesn't matter as these hairs are also covered in trichomes :).


Just wait, I'll get my pictures. It isn't anything special (compared to kush, etc) but I can't believe the green nuggets have a mutated purple twin.

edit: the reason the guy didn't bullshit me is because he is an aged head who doesn't give a shit about names. The herb came through NYC, and anyone can tell you NYC is home of the haze.

Temp and genetics. There is a big difference when you look at real purps, and temp purps. And no, 100% of the time when I buy haze it's real haze. And haze does have a "distinct" smell and appearance. If you actually bought different types of bud then shitty hydroponic generic dank from canada you would know this. Unless you are growing your bud, or getting it from the grower, you are pretty much getting generic hydro dank. I SWEAR. All the fucking bud in canada looks the fucking same. And it drives me fucking batshit insane sometimes. Not trying to start a fight or piss anyone off but it's true. I have YET to see ANY BUD from canada that looks DIFFERENT. I'm sure it's good weed, but it seems to be ALL THE FUCKING SAME.

Umm... anyone who has ever had some genuine haze will know the smell of genuine haze. Only thing i can describe it as is insanely citrusy, almost like pine sol. I had kali mist, that smelled almost the same...

You know 0 about Canada. You don't even live here and you say it's all the same?

I'm not going to compare countries on who has better weed, but it's the same as it is here then it is there. It's who you know. Sure, commerical stuff is everywhere, but it is good when it is needed, and it is by far cheaper than prices I see in most places.

All weed here though isn't commercial. There are tons of small time indoor growers pulling 2lbs from 10 plants every few months, and that's enough to pay their way to live. Not to mention the outdoor growers everywhere in the area here. Mountains and hiking trials for miles and miles.

So no, it's not all the same. Commercial growing is popular, but it all comes down to who you know.

Not to mention not all of them are growing the EXACT same weed. It looks the same, but I'm sure you know that every strain out therte produces a differnet high, even if they look the same.

So don't put down our bud man. It's cheaper than the US, and the quality is good.

I pay $175 for a full of blueberry, while I see in the States it goes for up to $600.

Paying anything more than $200 for an ounce and you got nothing to be proud of.

I'm trying to figure out how to take good pictures right now.

Canada has some mad good reefer, everywhere has extremely good reefer if you know the right people.

then there is that one brand of canadian weed that is always the same, beasters. you guys just shit that stuff south. I have also seen some canadian's posting pictures of it thinking it is good stuff.

But I have had VERY WHITE and STRONG chronic from canada.
