Bad Brains (with HR, not the clone)
The Velvet Underground
otherwise The Clash, and Operation Ivy.
Dead Kennedys.
one of the guys from bad brains hit on my friend a few years ago. She was only 15 so it was creepy.
The reason Bad Brains are so good, is because they started as a Jazz band.
True story.
I vote for Plastic Bertrand! :D
Bad brains is my favorite of all time..Numero uno!
but for kickass hardcore w/ serious political analysis, I gotta go with Bad Religion.
Fer live intensity- Flipper
Fer studio- Throbbing Gristle
Cross the board top score- Butthole Surfers

I love that "Ca plan por moi" song, it rocks!
leftover crack is rad, their shows are fun, but i still vote for operation ivy. well, i dont know because theyre a bit ska-ish.
i think the misfits or screeching weasel have my vote.
I saw Ben Weasel on Saturday
Why on earth has someone said the Velvet Underground? Have you ever listened to them? Yes they are a great band, but do you really call that punk?
Yes. They were a punk band.Quote:

Sorry mate T-Rex was not punk, he was 'glamrock'. I suppose the look Marc Bolan and T-Rex had was a bit similar to the New York dolls but no way was he 'Punk'. Sex Pistols the original and the best
Check again. Marc Bolan called HIMSELF a punk in 1973. Long before the Sex Pistols.Quote:

Im not the biggest fan of punk to be honest but I like the clash so I am going to say them :)
Mate, they aren't a punk band. How are songs like 'Who Loves the Sun', 'New Age', 'Heroin', 'Pale Blue Eyes' etc. punk songs? Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever herd.Quote:

If in "punk" you mean the original concept, it would come down to:
-The Clash
-The Sex Pistols
-Ramones
