Aww who doesn't like a fussy stuffy rose garden?
:D
Pretty, Stinkysister!
We just have wild primrose and they have not blossomed. <G>
The smaller hollyhocks are starting to bloom. Then the tall ones and many different lillies and other smelly things. All the vegs and herbs are doing wonderful this season. I just hope that the woodchuck living in the herb bed doesn't eat my stuff.
Shov
sorry, Stinky, I can't show ya my roses, already smoked 'em :D ... seriously, though, a house I used to rent, was formerly occupied by an old man that grew roses professionally, for contest entries ... he died, and his legacy was the neatest rosebush I ever saw ... it had been grafted repeatedly, over many years, according to the landlord ... every branch was a different color and type of rose ... every color of the rainbow, and some obvious hybrids ... I'm not a rose fan, but that bush was bitchin'
Shov- My feral Japanese primrose are in bloom as we speak. I just sorta threw them in the back yard and told my lawn jockey not to mow in that area... they look like crinkly spinach most of the year but are bearing hot-pink flowers at the moment.
Reaper- I hope someone is taking care of that rose. Sounds beautiful!
I used to have some blue moon roses. They are a lot lighter than that though, I've never seen a rose that dark before(last photo). Any info on name/breeder?
stilkikin, it's Hot Cocoa... I am 99% sure it is a Weeks rose. I had been looking for it for AGES and finally found it at the local nursery last weekend! :D
I haven't seen blue moon but I picked up Rhapsody in Blue for my parents- it's a clear blue/purple with the scent and structure of a Rugosa, but not thorny like rugosas.
nice roses stinky!! my only ones blooming right now are my green roses and altisimos...
how ya doin girly?
I'm doing okay. Are your green roses 'Ice' by any chance, or are they moss roses? I've never grown any of those.
i'm not sure to be honest... vera de flora....
i'll take pix and post them if you like, it's a very interesting rose. could send you some cuttings too....
Stinky I'm sorry wrong name it's blue girl and it came from Gurneys Seed and Nursery company. I usually stick with hybrid teas or shrub roses.
nice flowers stinky!
pointsettia and aloe... word.
stillkikin I like shrub roses too because they fit my 'if it lives though the abuse i regularly heap upon my plants, it gets garden space' style of growing :D
NICE BLOOMS there stinky! :D
aloe is a fanastic plant.. has anyone ever seen it flower? beautiful... sorry to hi-jack momentarily...
Nice lil piece of garden there stinky... I was more interested in the Toyota tho being the car lover that I am :)
Keep churning out those lovely buds ;)
Toyota's not mine, it belongs to a friend of my neighbors. I like my German engineering thx :D
I have never seen a flowering aloe, but on the other hand I have never seen a flowering cactus that WASN'T gorgeous.
How do you force it to flower? I find that I can get multiple blooms annually by putting my Christmas cactus in a shady spot for a couple weeks and then removing it.
nice flowers, im not a rose man either except for a couple of wild ones that i rather enjoy. a couple of grandmas roses will be migrating to my yard soon.
i love roses.. we have a rose garden also in the front.. and also fruit trees in the back yard.. and lots and lots of other plants.. Yours are beautiful.
