how many plants do you have, and how big do you want your plants to be?
uh, no. Unless your plants are superplants and reached 1/2 ft tall in a week and a half then they are too young to flower. Unless you are content with harvesting a joint's worth then don't flower that shit. If you have that kind of wattage why would you not want them to grow big and healthy before flowering?? Do some reading my friend the search button is a valuable asset.
By the way, disclaimers in your sig don't mean anything law enforcement couldn't use anything online in court anyways, much less a random forum posting. Unless of course you live in Mexico then anything goes.
they are only 3 inches not 6 and still when should i flower then you didnt tell me anything just made fun of me...and i have two plants and i want them to get about 3 maybe 4 feet tall but i have limited space...
Depends a lot really on height restrictions, and the fade of CFL bulbs. Also look out for alternating internodes to tell you they are ready. I'm assuming this is your first grow you will not want them to get that large with CFLs due to light penetration factors lower on the plant. What is the true wattage you are using? What strain are you growing that will make a big difference in what height you will need to flower them. I have flowered plants from seed anywhere from 12"-30". If your using a slower growing indica let it veg longer you'll be a lot happier yeild wise.
wait
Disregard the height unless you have issues with how tall your plants get. You should allow your plants to grow for at least 7-8 weeks or until they show alternating nodes before you begin the 12/12 cycle, or you could let em grow for 6, that's what I did. But I'd imagine you'd go ahead and give em the few weeks. I am on tight schedule and had to get done before a certain point. Still didn't make it but I'm close to it :p.
umm i am using 1500 watts of cfls...there are 15 100 watt cfls and the give off 1600 lumens per bulb...and i replaced the bottom box with a mylar e-blanket soo now height and room are less of a priority...and yea ill let them go for about 7 then flower...
i dont know the exact strain i am growing but im pretty sure 1 is pretty much sativa and 1 is indica...1 is tall and skinny and 1 is bushy and short....
Karma, sorry if it seemed like I was making fun of you. I was not. Just trying to prove a point. As far as your grow space I remember it on your other post. Given the vertical restrictions you have and since you are using CFL's I would flower at about 6 inches. You should be seeing at least 1 or 2 alternating nodes by that height anyways. You should end up with about 1ft to 1.5ft tall plants by the end of flowering which would be the max for your grow space. As far as horizontal space allow at least 4 inches on either side of the plants as well. Its better to have extra space than not enough.
yea ill post picks of the new mylar i put around it...it allows me a few more inches on each side...and above...i should leave my plants about 6 inches away because i was going to ask how far away i should leave my plants...
the first is my new setup the second is my plant that i think is indica the third is the sativa and i axadently pulled a couple roots off when i transplanted and it turned a bit yellow...
should i keep the light on 24/0 or leave the light off sumtime...???
From what I read 18/6 would be better or just plainly..it'd be good to give your plants at least 6 hours of darkness to allow the growth of roots. I read this article once that explained it basically saying that when the lights are on it's like a charger and the plants are charging up, when the lights are off it uses that energy given when the lights were on and uses that for further growth such as with roots and such. And also I think switching to 12/12 too early could cause the plants to stress to flower which could possibly promote hermies and at the same time I also heard that switching them to 12/12 too early would have no effect because they'd still just continue to vegetate until they're ready. I dunno but I'd just say don't switch them too early.
Hey I'd wait till around 3-4 weeks old til flowerin/sexin
yea ill try switchen um to 18/6 its just kinda hard when i have to time it so perfect and i race mini stock so im not home alot of the time...
karma you gotta devote time to your garden or it will fail, you can try to let it do its own thing cause soil is a bit easier to maintain but if you don't have the time to devote to a garden just hold off till you do. Your plastic tent is ok, you should lose that though once they get a little bit bigger or it will cause it to be too humid in there. Turn your light to 18/6 to save electricity. Glad to see you got rid of the halogens!
yea i will after and yea i got rid of it along time ago...and i have time its just ima bit busy sumtimes...and i have trouble keeping the light on a specific 12/12 i fuck up and put it like 14 10 and don want to do that...
Why don't you just buy a timer? What you should do is buy a timer that plugs into your wall and then buy a power surge and hook all your lights up to that, then plug that power surge into the timer that on the wall and automatically set it to turn on and off when you want. I dunno if you have a timer or not but the way you're talking about your light cycle it doesn't sound like you do. Much easier than manually doing it, and you really don't want any fuck ups with the light cycle when they're flowering..really. Not that hard to get, they sell them in the electrical appliance section of wal-mart.
make sure its a grounded timer don't make a noob mistake.
ok thanks but ill stick to homedepot heavyduty and half the price...lol no offence tho...and yea i want the light cycle to be pretty much perfect and i will buy a timer that wait here...theres the 1 i will buy...

yea i have a problem tho i dont know if it was from the bad transplant or from somethnig else but what is making my plant turn yellow...???and how far should i keep 15 100 watt cfls from my plants...???here are some piks...and sry my camera ran out of battery...:(
the first two are of my healthy plant i named her dixie and the other veronica...veronica seems to be wilting or something...i dont know what caused this i need help....
also what can i do to help her...???turn healthy...beside water...??
advice on top of advice, no offence at all, but you are certainly trying. this is the third garden of yours since ive been reading on here. to me, the soil looks way to dry, water really well (especially if you will be away a couple of days at a time)then let them dry out some, your second plant doesnt look that bad, but after a couple of weeks shouldnt you start fertilizing lightly? and you know how far cfl's should be away from the plants. you have invested in trying to grow good plants, use what you have learned. i hope i dont sound bitchy.
yea its my third grow and this is the first good indoor grow and its acctually my 4th if u count the 1st indoor failure...but yea im honestly tryin to get this 1 good...i dont know much about growing indoors yet and ive learned soooo much off of this site ill be a professional ina few years and i want to invest in better and more powerful growing equipment...but i cant at the moment...and you dont sound bitchy at all i understand people who are better at things tend to get a little adjetated when noobs ask and ask...and im only tryin to learn...
