A Skink IS A Skink! Who knew?

I took my kids to the zoo this weekend and upon entering the Reptile area I was blown away by a big sign that simply read SKINK.
A skink is a REAL ANIMAL! Not a stinky skank like I previously assumed. Furthermore skink do not hang out with heads of state and Paris Hilton! I know, I know. I was shocked too. These disgusting animals look like dwarf snakes with useless arms and legs. Almost like the evolutionary record player got stuck somewhere between a snake and a lizard and is repeating itself to the disgust of milenia of onlookers. Dude WTF?! :wtf: :jointsmile:

A Skink here in Scotland is a soup made from a shin of beef my Grannie was an expert at making it, you also get a Cullen Skink which is a soup made using Haddock instead of beef it is rather smelly stuff.
Just thought you'd like to know.

Wow, those things really do look like snakes mixed with a lizard. Weird. I find our world more and more fascinating (and some times disturbing and odd) every day.

...I saw a show on animal planet....this very, very big south american bullfrog....swallowed a passing skink whole......

five minutes later....the bullfrog was dead....the skink just crawled back out of the dead frog's mouth.....the skin on the skink was toxic.....:wtf:...shit... happens...quick..

oh man, nothing is better then blazing and watching planet earth. Best episodes: jungles, deep sea ocean, and caves! fresh water is also good.

I remember when I was a kid me and my friends would hunt skinks all the time. We'd just keep them as pets for a couple days and release them back where we found them. But damn, if you even started chasing one they'd drop their tail at the drop of a hat.... er, I mean tail. We need to change that expression to "at the drop of a tail" now that I think of it.



Now skink there's something else I wanted to talk to you about. I was just thinking that.... ah, god damnit he dropped his tail and ran off!
