Parents caught me smokin, any advice?

i smoke every day or two, and last night my mom heard my brother upstairs being to loud so she cam eupstairs to check on him. while upstairs, she smelled pot, and when she cam einto my room she was greeted by a cloud of smoke :rolleyes: . she came over and asked me why i was doing this again (its the 3rd time shes caught me, but the other 2 times were with friends). when she then searched my room, she found my bong and an empty bag of weed (i had a nice glass pipe and a half oz in my jacket pocket that she never found :D ). but between the bong and empty bag, she was really upset and agry. i know that alot of peopole on this sight are older and have probably had similar experiences. what did you tell your parents, how did it work? i didnt ask the first 2 times cuz tyey werent really mad, just a bit concerned. but now they are mad, and sending me into drug counseling :eek: . what can i tell them that will let them know in a nice way that i smoke pot, and its probably going to stay that way for a while. sorry for how long the post is, im kinda strressed cuz if my parents win this battle, im probably never gonna be able to touch a joint again. shit this sucks. peace.

How will they stop you from touching a joint? You'll smoke weed for the rest of your life. This is America, you can do whatever the fuck you want.

because i live ina small town, and my dealers dont sell to people that are being watched, and i am now being watched. when i say that i wont be able to smoke again, i mean for a while, not forever. it would be imossible foir me to get weed cuz im grounded, they took away my lisence, i cant get weed in school (no dealers sell at the school). ive thought about my options, and getting high will be nearly impossible. all i have now to last me the next few months is that half oz. also they are piss testing me now. unless i can convince them that weed is not bad, im very fucked.

dude your mom probably thinks your "going down that road" where you'l be a loser and smoke pot all day and not amount to nothing. you have to tell her you use it responsably take ehr on this site and make her read the faq so she can learn the true facts about weed and not the myths surrounding it. tell her that weeds so much better for you than alcohol and would she like you to die in a drink driving accident? or go looking for fights while being drunk? or vomiting in the toilet? or god forbid die of alcohol poisoning? and if shes the kinda parent that wont give in even if you show her the truth then that will suck. but theres always college. just talk to her like an adult and hopefully shel listen. hope that helped a bit.

dude tha 1st time i got caught my mom bitched at me 4 like a week then tha next week me an my friends all got got busted an taken 2 tha station 2 wait 4 our parents thats when my mom made me see 1 of those counselers to.so when eva i have 2 go i jus get wicked blazed b4 it doesnt stop me from smokin i jus score som of my brothas piss when i get tested but if u dont want 2 b a piss fiend like me get 1 of those things that gets it out of your system or drink alot of water and piss alot it works trust me if u come up clean 4 a month or 2 they might decide 2 stop.

i would use my bros piss but the first time i got caught it was because he ratted on me. im gonna print out some stuff from this sight to show her cuz its got good info. i hope it works, but my mom unfortunately is one of those people who will never change opinion. peace.

because im doing well in school, i have 3 jobs and an internship so whenever my parents catch me smoking i tell them that i can still smoke weed and not be a burnout. i do what i have to do and i smoke a lot of weed while doing it. they usually eat that up and never punish me... they cant really do anything anyway.

i'm doing about average in school. im not doing badly, but i can't say my grades are very good. outside school im just normal, play sports year round, have a job. thanks bongrips, if i can get my grades up by the end of the quarter ill do what you do. peace.

Sit down with your parents and tell them to smoke a few bowls with you. Maybe the will? and they will like it :p

tell them to get fucked and youll do whatever the fuck you want and how can they physically stop you. Dont do anything you dont want to do...start swingin!

the thing is though that if i test positive on a drug test, they will turn me into the police, they told me they would. also i can't get any detox stuff to get it out of my system because they check my mail now. they've already snatched a gram of 20x salvia out of an envelope. if all else fails, ill try and get them to have a bowl. peace.

Listen take it from experience, if your parents dont want you to smoke in their House then dont Simple as that. If they are okay with it but dont want it in their home smoke outside, with friends somewhere else besides home. And if they are really angry and dispise pot well I suggest saving money to move out.

the money is being saved. i just applied for a second job, cant wait to get out of here. my parents have tried to shelter me my entire life.

well if i were u try to bargin with her, cuz u no she wont go for it, tell her that if u get higher grades than normal that u should get to smoke some or something simmilar.

Scare tactics...seriously, what kinda of retart parent would put their son away. How old are you by the way. Just move out and tell them to shove it as you walk out...If they are going through your mail then you can say if you go through my mail again then I'LL go to the police seeings how its against the law to do that and all...

dude, if ur being put on watch or w/e, ur getting piss tested, and your being put into a drug program then i suggest u dont smoke untill u are out of all this crap that u gotta deal with...herb will be just the same as u left it, but u gotta realize that if ur taking such risks to smoke then maybe u do have a problem and need to take a break anyway...just my 2 cents

I'm 15 years old and have had a similar prob , ive been smokein for almost 2 years now and dont plan on stopin anytime soon. it all started about a year ago , i got busted at school with a dime , got sent to alternative school for 5 weeks , got drug tested (which came out marijuana positive). then at about the 3rd week of me being in the alt school my mom checks me into a counseling center , not only to see if i have any anxiety problems ( which i dont) but also so she can give me a drug test every month ( which the counseling center payed for).so right away i get a drug test ( came out super positive for marijuana) , find out i dont have any anxiety probs etc.., but am still scheduled for another drug test soon, at this time im finally getting out of alt school and convince my mom to cancel all of the counseling stuff as long as i pass the next drug test.After working out and sweating my ass off it comes to the day fo the test, i drink a large bottle of water and head to the counseling center, i pass my drug test and am finally out of a big mess. Now all i have to do is play it low for a while to regain my parents trust. Been about 2 months ive been playin it low and just got a 25 sack and begin to smoke without any suspicion. I would suggest playin it low for a while then gradually starting back again. the way i passed my drug test was to just sweat your ass off, which means exercise alot , go running etc(jsut sweat sweat sweat, this loosens your fatty pores and lets the thc toxins out through your sweat), also drink alot of water and cranberry juice on the you have your drug test, before your drug test, this will make your piss diluted and also make it not look so diluted. i am homeschool now and smoke while my parents are at work and brother is at school ( my brother is a pussy and will tell on me for smokeing to ). and remember , your parents arent gods, they are people like us teens , dont be afraid of them. my parents know i smoke and arent happy but ive been so strong in my position that pot is good that I only get a nagging when i tell my mom im gonna talk a walk over to the park "for what" to smoke weed "why!?" why not

Ive never backed down in an arguement about it and rightfully so, Im not gonna conceal my smoking in my own house because its been demonized by propoganda

I never smoke in my house btw...well sometimes i hit a bowl indoors by a window or a door and blow my hits outside and cover the bowl with my thumb when im not hitting it.

i think you should make a stand and tell them your not quiting and there wasting there time, tell them to read up! shit thell probly never understand but why should you bend over for them its you life! if the would send you to jail, well thats just bad parenting!

IF I were you i would do what I did in high school... you just have to pretend like you don't smoke at all... you just have to make an excuse to stay the night with your friend. Like say, ok im going to go stay the night with johnny.... then when you leave... smoke before or while your at your friends house... stay the night.. then change clothes the next morning.. your parents will never know.. and you will still get to smoke... its a win win... also, my parents found out hte other day, but luckily im in college... so my dad is like a 70's stoner... so he basically didn't even talk to me about it and just asked how I could let me sister and mom know I do it... my mom cried and stuff and was talking about how it was illegal and I was like mom is safer than cigarettes and alcohol both. I was like be thankful that im not doing either of those. And she was like yeah but its illegal. And I was like yeah, but do you know why its illegal? No I didn't think so. The government is retarded and makes drugs illegal that should be legal. So my advice is just start "staying the night out" a lot and smoke with your friends.

and dude..my rents uesd to freak and say i was ruining my life and i was going to be a failure, and then time after time they just got uesd to it, live TV violence, not they know im high and just dont wanna deal with it. i told them "ill quit for a period of time to pass a test and show you im not addicted, i do decent in school, im in advanced plaement classes and get b's, plus im one of the best athletes at my school, (which is saying alot cuz it has a population of 5,000+ students) and that im not ruining my life at all, i do it for my own reasons and im not ashamed of it at all"

I agree, the cops cant do much to youf or haveing a positive drug test for pot, but in this case i would try my best to pass drug tests and keep trust with your parents about you not smokeing pot, seeing that most parents dont know shit about marijuana and think its a terrible thing thats gonna mess your life up , its best for you to play it low till your atleast in college. peace :)

koshea, that is exactlt what my parents do. they just have one line... "its illegal" ... and that ius their only argument. after showing them all kinds of proof that it is safer then legal drugs, she still just kept saying... "its illegal"... so im gonna take frenchinhale's advice, just get high at friends houses and stay the night. thats after i pass a few drug tests though. well, looks like i will be sober for the next 2 or 3 months while they test me regularly. at least i have something to look forward to, cuz after going that long without a smoke i will get so insanely high once i get back on the joint. thanks guys, your really helpfull. peace.

This is what has worked for me...

Stand up for herb smoking with intelligent aruguments, or at least with negative refutations (think Socratic Dialog style). Then prove your statements emperically. If you are getting shit done (solid schoolin, makin money at work, shit like that) then they don't have half a leg to stand on against you burn'n ;)

yea, from now on i should just point out to my mom everytime she doesnt stop at a stopsign, or doesnt buckle her seatbelt, and that its illegal and more dangerous to get in an accident with no seatbelt then to smoke a joint.

good point, i think they know i smoekd inside though for two reasons.
1. its fucking cold outside
2. the upstairs reeks of it

when i continue smoking again ill not smoke inside.

dude..didnt the original poster say u had a liscense..so your at least 16..stand up to your fuckin parents man, just have some balls, wtf can they do? my mom got pissed at first when she knew i smoked, but she got used to it cuz i just kept doin it and she realized it wasnt messing up my life and also that she couldnt do shit about it. she has found plants before too, she sees weed and my bong on a daily basis. no big anymore. she hates when i drink tho haha.

Why can't I have parents like you?? when I used to smoke cigs I carried a damn axeTM can and I pack of breathmints because my parents hovered over me so much! Now they trust me though BUT they STILL wont leave me alone when they get suspicious about me. I do well in school and I'm not a crackhead or anything and I don't get in troble so why are they so annoying!! yo could buy yoreself an ammount of weed outside yore town so you dont have to buy it in this small town of yors (ofcorse you shold have an ammount of money first,well start sawing!) or yo could start growing it somewere in da woods were nobady goes,an smoke it always outside yore house an not keeping any instruments such as bongs in yore house,thatway you can say to yore old folks you quitted whit this shit an they will leave you alone.. peace man

look i got something that might help you get them setteled down and talk to them and say mom dad i did smoke pot everyday then i did it 2, 3 times a week now i just do it on certen days i am quiting at my own pace and u are just interfering when u interfer it makes me want to do it more and more. i dont no but this worked for me i told her that and just got baked every day for like a month then she found me once or twice and we had a short talk and she would forget about it.
