I know people who will walk down the street and talk about herb at the top of their voices, not caring who hears. I know other people who will whisper about weed if there's anyone within 100 feet.
I guess I'm somewhere in the middle.

lol my mom liked the oz i picked up for my birthday... she doesnt smoke but is happy it didnt make the house smell skunky like the previous full O i picked up

i'm too open with it, i dont yell about it when i'm walking down the street, but i smoke it openly, i don't see anything bad about weed only good so feel i dont need to hide it, and most people today accecpt it for what it is, a relaxation herb.
I'am a lot more Discreat then when i was younger I would not walk down the street yelling about it. but i would walk down the street burning one
and just cup it if i was passing some one on the street.the worst thing that could happin was get a ticket.

my parents and my boyfriends mom are the only "adults" that know for sure. I'm sure some others suspect it though. I put adults in quotes because technically my friends and I are adults but I dont really feel like it.
It's not something that I just bring up if the person doesn't know about it already. If we happen to just talk about it I won't deny the fact, I'm really open about it but I just don't promote it like it's every ones business. Not really all that serious. It's just weed, and yeah I know people that scream about that shit and it just annoys me. I don't talk about growing at all. I deny everything I know about it lol. It's an innocent thing but I don't trust people with that type of info.

well, i let people know fairly openly because there is nothing wrong with it, in fact im really proud of the fact that i smoke. hopefully them knowing that will lead them onto the road to discovering the truth.

As a cannabis smoker, i am in the right. I'm not wrong - everyone who thinks badly of me and the plant are wrong. I'm VERY proud. I, somehow, incorperate cannabis into most conversations, with everyone, so everyone i know, knows i smoke it. I'm going to get a tatt of a leaf on the back of my hand - somewhere where everyone can see it. I've even talked about it with police, and had weed on me in my gaff when the police were with me [in the process of lifting me]
I love weed and everything that goes with it - that's probably why i get so pissed off when people bad mouth it. It's like their insulting me personally.
To the next poster - give me a random word, anything. Oil, paint, plastic, car. ANYTHING.
I'll try and relate it to cannabis.

I'm fairly open with the fact that I smoke. If someone asks me, of course I'm going to be honest. My brother knows I do, my parents know I do, all my friends know I do. It has become a part of me, and if someone has a problem with it--well, fuck them.
As Lip mentioned, we are the ones who are right. As much as the government, and the world for that matter, wants to believe they are correct; they simply cannot compete with the facts. Cannabis is a significant part of my life, and I'm proud. Here's to many, many, many more years. Toke on.

Erm, Well, this one isnt good in the slightest, but it's fairly true - Concrete - thinking of concrete automatically makes me think of builders - and all the ones i've come into contact with have smoked. Smoking weed while grafting is the way to get things done and done well.

I'm open with my family and friends about it. Other than that I'll tell someone is they ask, I wouldn't bring it up. But I wouldn't tell someone who is a cop or a snitch. It's something I find to be 100% okay for me, so I have no need to hide it other than to keep my ass out of jail.
I am open to only my closest of friends. I am a professional in a highly regulated industry and if anyone found out there.....I would get shit canned in a heartbeat. Trust no one but only your closest friends.

Americans are behind the times in terms of cannabis economy. The Dutch, Hungarians, and French already use cannabis as a resource (in fact over 30 countries worldwide already cultivate hemp for industrial purposes). Now in France a concrete substitute from hemp is being developed, and is the start of a giant undeveloped industry for cannabis. Hemp construction for houses and building could provide shelter for everyone, and not just concrete. Hemp fiber and pulp can be processed into drywall or plywood. Cannabis can be used to make particleboard, cabinetry, paneling, and other home construction materials. Using hemp for building would save trees and create new jobs. We could literally build a house from Hemp.
LIP, I bet there would be some way to make concrete either stronger, or less brittle by incorporating hemp fibers...maybe? :)
Also, I also bet that a bunch of concrete truck drivers & deliverers have lost their jobs simply because they failed a drug test...that is discriminatory IYO, innit?

this is a good thread.
when i first started smoking i was very hush-hush about it. i never spoke about it in public, never ventured in public while high, never wore anything sporting any maryjane references. as i got older and maryjane started becoming an important part of my life, i loosened up a little. i lost that beginners paranoia and started worry less about being stoned in public and bought a belt covered with leaves. i still dont speak loudly about it in public, but if the subject arises between friends, i dont hesitate to chime in. but i dont go walking around, proclaiming my love for the leaf. i realized after a while that my granola hippy look and way of life sorta alludes to my precious past time, people can tell by lookign at me or speaking with me that i probably smoke up on a regular basis. and thats okay with me because while stoners dont always have the best reputation, i usually dont upset anyone and folks find me intelligent and likeable.

At least around here, smoking trees is looked at as nothing more then smoking a cigarette, so of course I could give a shit less. I'll light a blunt outside my house in the busiest part of the city, doesn't bother me. I always joke with my mom and family about it, and most of my friend's smoke. My family is huge and basically everyone gets drunk at family parties, so they can't really say much about weed...plus all I would have to do is print a few things and that would be that. Over this past year, it's become effortless to shut someone up due to such positive studies.
With that being said, I still wouldn't say I'm very 'open' about it...but that's only because it's not a big deal to me at all...the way I handle it actually does have an effect on people though, because they know I'm smart enough to know if it's bad for me or not.
And considering OC's and dope have taken over coke and weed in my city [which is a shame, most people could keep coke to the weekend, but then the opiates put people in rehab and the whole nine]....weed just isn't so bad anymore, it's pretty much considered a good thing if you're only smoking weed around here.
apparently it doesnt matter, at my graduation party everyone said i looked stoned in my grad pic, which i wasnt. so i denied it and they all said i was lying and they werent stupid. but nobody cared.
apparently everyone knows i smoked for the past year but i was oblivious to the obviousness of it.
ohh well, i dont really try and hide it anymore.
