How much does an oz smell?

So as we speak my friend is on his way to pick up my first zip :thumbsup: The only negative is the fact that my dad is still unaware that I've been toking for about 6 months now. Up until now I've been buying 5grams at the most and keeping it stowed away in my backpack; you couldn't really smell it unless you put your face right up against it and sniffed or opened it up. However, I'm a bit worried about how much 28 grams of some dank will smell. Do you think if i double bagged it, wrapped it up in a towel and a jacket, and kept it in my backpack it would still be smellable from a good distance? Help me!

hell yeah it will smell. Tell ur friend to put it in mulitple ziplocs and a small trash bag for safety. if he's in the same room, he'll smell it.

i had an oz in my closet inside one of my sweater pockets. I went into my closet the next day and it fuckin reeked. It'll be allright if ur just walking past ur dad but if he's in the same room as the herb, double, triple, then trash bag wrap it.

Depends how good it is and what you have it stored in. Plastic bags are poreous, even ziplock, meaning that given a long enough period of time (no more than a day) the smell will escape the bag.

Try a mason jar, they're cheap and good at keeping things fresh. if you know what I mean.

Ah, a mason jar. Good thinking. Thanks for all the replies.

Yay a good mason jar is all you need, no smell will escape until you open the lid, no need to mess with multiple baggies that also have a potential of smashing your buds.

all you need is 3 bags, 1 for the weed and then 1 bag filled with a big of coffe beans or alrdy powdered, and u put the weed bag in that and then a final bag just so any cofee dont spill, but u really just need 2, trust me it wont smell a bit cus the coffe will totalyl drench the smell

jars will work fine..I use pill bottles, you can't smell it outside them, but lordy when you pop the top the odor is very heavy..

i used a mason jar type thing, no smell at all untilli opend it then you was able to smell it straight away if u were in the room

Just don't get to the point where you need to explain why you have 6x 1 litre Mason Jars around the house, with nothing in them.

what worked for me is two ziplock bags, one with the bud, and the other one with a couple of dryer sheets. bounce has a strong smell.

Use glass jars to hide smell, airtight ones. It will keep your buds fresh for months on end.

Its not gonna stink that much, just double bag it if you're paranoid about it..

It all depends on what kind of cannabis it is too. I have had ounces before that you couldn't smell single bagged, in an open room, but I've also had like 1/4's that totally reeked.

Some weede smells more than other kinds of weed. Hopefully you get the kind of that doesn't smell that much.

If would get 2 jars if I was you. Get a bigger jar that can hold an oz and has a rubber seal, then get another one for taking around with you. I use a strait amber jar that I found at a cooking store. It is about 3" wide and high and can hold a 1/4 inside a plastic bag.
