Look for ferts that have components in chelated format. You should see listed EDTA, EGTA, etc. This prevents compounds combining into unusable and toxic salts.
For favorites, here goes:
Fish emulsion- don't care what brand
Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow
Cornucopia Bloom- hard to find, I hope it gets more common
BioBizz Top Max
Soil Syrup- good luck finding that one, lol! I had to order from Canada
Thanks stinkyattic thats a big help....
im using miracle-grow all purpose plant food its 24-8-16...i dont use it too often but i can say this i supplied the seeds to my friend for a kick back of a couple plants and he wasnt using it and his grow to about foot and a half and mines pushing 3 foot...how i use it dont hold me to this but i mostly use it in a spray bottle and spray the plants from the bottom of the stem to the top bud(i do this most often) i also sometimes mix a gallon of it with water and feed the roots...if you use this feed you wont have to worry about bugs getting into your soil and messing with the roots because it has boric acid in it..but you got to to remember that you need to stop about a week or two before its ready to be picked so you wont be smoking the feed
24-8-16 if you use it in flower you are cheating yourself, because the high N is making the plant add leaf mass when it should be adding bud mass; yes it will be bigger but that does not mean yield is improved, your flower N # should be VERY VERY low. Oh and theres not nearly enough P in that fert for budding. Well there is but as a ratio, NO.
well i just used the bathroom but i guess i could produce alil p...jk what would you get that you can buy local that would be good for flowering?
There are some other brands that are still easy to find, like shultz and jack's classic.
Look up the ratios for a chemical pot bloom fert like Power Flower, and write them down, and take them to the garden center with you, and read all the labels- choos the one that is closest and still has micronutrients in it.
Miracle-gro for vegging and Canna A+B for flower and budding , works for me
where can i find some info on canna a+b?
StinkyAttic = always right. In fact, she might be my hero, not positive... but its possible
Kool I have been using shultz 20-20-20 every 2 weeks 1/8 tbs per gallon cuz of that mg I have. I was thinking of going to home depot tomorrow and grabing some composted cow manure with humus and some more perlite(I spelled it wrong in that other post on soils) I think I am getting to a point and not getting any farther. The post that stinkyattic said about mg causing lockouts and burns. I have not burnt anything. If any thing I have been underferting them. I didn't want to go overboard. I am one of a few newbees who underwater and every thing else. And I would agree with razzapiggy stinkyattic is becoming my hero every day. Even if what she tells me means I have to start all over but I can deal with that for all the good smoke I will have. :D
She isnt saying ya need to even consider starting over yet buddy! A good point of hers, Get yourself a flowering regiment that has alot more p, and less nitrogen. You are going to be wasting the plants energy on producing leaves with n, while leaves are pretty and all... I am guessing you have other things in mind. Let the plant concentrate on flowering. Switch that up, and you taking a definite step in the right direction.
I personally use SuperNatural Bloom Feed and I like it just fine so far... great yield on my first grow (2000 watts) and I also use a product to add even MORE p at the end of flowering called Shooting Powder which is loaded with p. Do you have a hydro store near your house? Have a way of getting a catelog for one? Take a look through, see what you can afford
stinky is 10-30-20 enough?
There was a diffent post http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...sic-soils.html that some else asked about soils. she said that you will get lock outs and burns. Mine haven't been going inot flowering I think that they are getting locked out before they can get to flowering becaouse of the mg soil that I have. I can almost with that mg I have never had any thing go into flowering but this male that I had. my plants only get to about 2 feet and stop I have tried a bloom burst high in p but they won't do any thing no new veg growth or flowering. check out what was said on the post on soil. I had one plant before the one I got now(had 2 but one was male the only plant I have been able to sex). He only got to about 2 feet and showed small pollen pods. after that he didn't grow any more even with a bloom burst and no ferts. That mg potting soil is CRAP. That is why I said that I was going to start over. If I don't start over they will just sit there for months on end without any new veg or flower growth. It won't die but it just won't grow no matter what I put in there. What catalogs would be good for ferts I have hurd of people using cann grow and other things like that but I didn't know where to get them cuz I live in a little town there is no kind of hydro shop and all the graden shops don't carry indoor ferts. Just home depot and Lowes. My local Home depot seems to be the best one of then 2.
pure blend pro-veg
cal-mag
hydroguard
liquid kharma
pure blend pro-bloom
and ph down
i use the same for dirt and hydro. I just cut back teh amounts for da dirt gals.
is very nice, you like?
Well starting over now with new soil. taking stinkyattics word on the soil. got some organic composted soil and got 2 seeds in now just have to wait untill they show up. With these 2 I am going to feed them with a 20-20-20 shultz untill I see flowering then use african violet 8-14-9 to boost the p with the 20-20-20 and see what I get. The african violet has micronutrients too so that was a plus about it. I have seen people say they have used it. hoping with the organic composted soil I have now that I will get into flowering.
Thanks to evey one on this site your info is very helpful to a newbee like me. :smokin:
hey stinky would superthrive work?
