yo my dad once at a fatty bud of gross as mexican dirt weed (shwag) and got stoned off his ass i guess he didint smoke in like mad long but neways i was wondering if i could down this half eigth i have withoout cooking and get blazed up????

why not load it into a bowl and enjoy the smoke? why take the chance of it not effecting you then being pissed off the rest of the night cuz u just wasted your bud.

Why else do you think everyone goes through the time of baking delicious treats, or killing their lungs? For the heck of it? No way. You MUST heat it before you intake it in any way. Dont waste your bud, you'll be very pissed off if you eat an 8th of chronic and it doesnt do shit when you could have smoked it and been fucked up for hours.

No, bud does not necessarily need to be cooked in order to get high from eating it.

What heating does is speed up a process known as decarboxylization in which the THC molecule loses the carboxyl group (COOH) that it is bound to, this is the same process that happens when bud is dried cured. You'll also notice that most recipes with marijuana also involve something with a high fat/oil content, because thc is fat-soluable and supposedly it makes it easier for the cannaboids to pass through the GI tract into the bloodstream. Though cooking is not necessary, it is more effecient. If you eat an 8th of good quality raw bud you will likely get pretty stoned, but if you cooked with it perhaps the onset would have been faster, and more than one person could have enjoyed it.

Notice how you said if you eat an 8th of quality bud, youll get stoned. If you cook .25g of quality bud youll get stoned. You would need to eat so much raw bud in order to get high that you would be wasting your money. It will work, but it would be expensive and not worth it. Not to mention it would taste like shit and take a long time to take effect. When you bake THC into anything with another kind of oil in the recipe, the oils in whatever your baking absorb the THC oils and the heat activates the THC's hallucinogenic properties. Not only does it take effect faster, but it makes it more powerful because its releasing everything it has as opposed to eating un-heated THC which isnt strong at all. If it was worth it everyone would just be eating raw bud, if it was worth it no one would be killing their lungs and going through the trouble of baking for 20mins in an oven. Go ahead, spend however much you want on an 8th of bud and get high, or spend however much you want on a gram and make four cupcakes and get stoned four times. The choice is up to you.

PS: It is a proven fact that chocolate (or cocoa) oils strengthen the effects of THC. They not only absorb the THC, but they have a safe reaction that makes it more powerful and creates a stronger, longer lasting high. I've known kids who've eaten as much as a gram of un-heated pot and have felt absolutely nothing then got pissed off when they told me later and I said they were morons and should have asked me. Waste your pot, its your money.
