If you have the room and want a bigger yield wait longer and let it get to be 2 feet before you flower it. Genetics plays a part too. Preflowers are a great sign you will have a beautiful GREEN plant and the preflowers are a light green to yellow in spots. Then 12/12. Room size counts and lighting. If your lighting does not penetrate you get low yield on the lower parts of the plant.
That plant is ALMOST ready to flower.
I am seeing that the last set of nodes is just very slightly offset... that plant is about to go alternating, showing sexual maturity.
5 nodes is not how to tell when to flower, it's when to start feeding! Or the earliest time it's advisable to pinch.
Flowering too early can stress the plant into hermaphrotidsm. Wait fo your alternating nodes.
stinkyattic wins the prize for this one  - wait for the alternating nodes
Thank you. I would like to thank my momma and all my girls from the block. :D
Thanks very much for the advice people, i just hope it turns out to be female, i am using 2x125w envirolites (6400k) for veg @ 18/6 and will flower with 2x125w (2700k). I know HPS is the way to go but seeing as this is my first grow i`m just feeling my way.
Soil PH is 6.8
Water PH 6.3
Temp 77F Humidity 60-70%
Small PC fan for circulation
AC fan at top of closet for extraction with lower passive intake.
Thanks all, i`ll post more when things develop.
Forgot to say i am using Bio-Grow 8/2/6 for the last two weeks, watering every 2-3 days and feeding is once a week.
A couple more from today, i can see some kinda new growths but still not sure if they`re balls or not.

no worries, dude - some of us have grown SUCCESSFULLY for many years using ONLY flourescent tubes (I prefer them over the CFLs, as they spread the light more evenly, and cooler, but no biggie) - good luck, and good growing
[quote=freewheelinfrank]Many thanks for the encouragement, as i understand it that flour/cfl grows are fine if space is tight and heat is an issue.Quote:

Peace.
I used to veg uner T12 shop lights very happily and may return to using them if I decide to go full-spectrum for flower and put my metal halides in the flower room. One really nice thing about tube flouros is that even if the plants grow right up into them, any burns are pretty mild and cosmetic... I had better luck and better shaped plants come out of veg under tubes than I ever have with CFLs. Just a couple cents...:D
Would you say that you use MH for a big coverage or is it better hands down for veg due to the high intensity ?Quote:

Thanks all.
Could`nt wait any longer, just hope i get a fem !
The reason I have MH in my veg room at ALL is because I keep mothers and need the light penetration.Quote:

Check out Demeter's grow log; she vegges under shop lights and her plants still grow beautifully and bushy, adn her ultimate yield is great.
