Why is alot of hair (pistils) a good thing on bud. The THC is in the trichomes right?
Im asking cause I just got a bud so hairy the nugs look more like wads of hair smushed together.

no ideas?
i have no idea because im not a grower but it just seems its always been that way... have a good smoke:jointsmile:
interested too
bump
im pretty sure trichomes grow on them or something
im not sure either but i think that when theres a lot of thc production a lot of hairs grow too...i dont think theres actualy a lot of thc in the hairs or anything, but this is just my guess so dont believe me.
i just smoked a blunt of some hairy shit and its amazing, helssssssssssssssssss yesssssssss
Hairs relate to maturity.
hmm I thought someone woulda come up with a more definitive answer by now cause I'm shit outta ideas..
Only thing iv heard of hairs is that they dont matter, it just shows that the plant is mature. Thats just what iv heard.
dont those hairs go into hash when you use tumblers and stuff? if so then they gotta be loaded with trichomes.
just smoked aa joints of somev esry hariy ass bud...
i guess im a little fucked up haa but shit might be ther percocet
or the beer...
blasto ff!
could be wrong so don't quote me...
but hairs signify mature bud, and bud growth in general, the more hairs, the more work the plant put out for bud growth, generally the more growth = more thc and trichromes, more thc and trichromes = better bud.
i reached this conclusion throughd deductive logic...
i.e. bud i've seen that has seed has less hair, the more seed, the less hair.. seed (which i know for a fact) takes away from bud/trichrome growth...
Im not sure why hairy bud is better but...
Hairs dont have much THC on them, so it doesnt really matter if there are some or not...ive had awesome bud that had hairs and awesome bud that didn't.
jus my lil piece of info
i heard that the hairs do have some THC, but not as much as the trichomes.
Slipknots logic makes plenty of sense. So hair isnt potent itself but a great indicator of really good bud right
I've always understood that hairs contained some THC, so when you see a good looking bud, generally it's covered in hairs...
not sure but i also thought the hairs were a sighn of maturity and the trichs held nearly all the thc, when looking to harvest you always go by the trichs not the pitsils, but like i said dont know for sure.
This should help:
As the pistils grow out from the calyx they form resin glands (trichomes), which gradually change in color before they shrink and wither. This withering of the trichomes affects the look of the pistils, which in turn fade and tend to look burnt and dry. This ^unhealthy' appearance of the trichomes is perfectly natural. The plant has completed the blooming period and the trichomes are no longer needed to gather pollen. The cannabinoid content of these trichomes is not lost, however. It is simply converted into other psychoactive cannabinoid compounds. THC will also degrade as it is converted into other psychoactive compounds. Eventually, exposure to light will further degrade these cannabinoid compounds to next to nothing if the plant is not plant harvested.
Definitely the beer. That's the only substance I've taken that affected my ability to type, very much the same way you've been affected.Quote:

I'm high, so please excuse any logical errors.
