Male, sorry. Second branch down on the left has balls.
I had a feeling it was male as its much bigger than the rest of my plants.
Thanks for the reply.
I concur
Good pic though, and a pretty plant. You can still smoke him.
But the THC from a male is real low i thought.Quote:

I have 3 other plants growing so ill chop the male and see what the others turn out to be.
DOH!
Mmmmm...plants...ggghhrrgghrurgglurrg
Stupid flanders! (OH the garbage man can) :)Quote:

So the male plant produced meat? And by meat I am referring to the ganja of the plant.Quote:

In case you've ever wondered WHY males are not all sticky with trichs like females are- the answer is simple.
Cannabis is a wind-pollinated plant. A trichy, "sticky male's" pollen would get stuck on him! That does not bode well for passing on those "sticky male" genes. While the pollen of "nonsticky" males would be flying far and wide!
For females, the situation is just the opposite! They NEED to have sticky buds! Since it is wind pollinated, being able to capture a grain of pollen at the slightest touch, is an essential trait. So the plants are selecting for sticky females and nonsticky males.
I have read, in various boards, about the occasional "sticky", trich-covered, male- these males should be incorporated into the gene pool if at all possible. Imagine, if you will, a strain of fully triched plants- the males just as potent as their sisters in THC levels! It would take generations of inbreeding and strict culling of a large number plants, but I believe it could be done! The "sticky male" trait could be the beginning of a whole new way of outdoor growing! Males would produce a smaller amount of smokables and the females would have seeds, but because the males capture much of their own pollen, there'd be only a few seeds.
Ever the optimist, I check my male plants by touching them and then take a peek through my microscope at a sample of trim leaf, before I kill them. Haven't found the male I'm looking for and since I am a Cali med user/grower who stays within the limits (6 plants), I likely never will. I hope you find yours and be the person who revolutionizes growing, by originating the first "sticky male" strain! Have fun! - Granny:hippy:
Yes, I have a hermy with close to the same preflower on the 3rd branch down on the left. The plant is covered at tops and 5 nodes down on main stem and 3 nodes on secondaries by pistils. But has 5 of those little things, that pic resembles the biggest of them. Should I cut them off, both plants have them. They are 9 days into flowering, should I cut those queer lumps off. Are they close to pollinating??
definately female dude.....only 4 weeks from seed eh...great
drgreen, please explain how you get 'definitely female' from that pic.
growdisstuff, covered in pistils at 9 days? Are you certain that what you are seeing is not the tiny spikes of new leaf growth forming?
guaranteed pistils, everywhere at tops and couple branches down. I thought all the pistils should be out anyways by now. Doesn't matter, I know theres pistils and shiiit, imma rip one off again and see if anything inside. Maybe there little buds, but I thought only weed grows where pistils are, correct me if I am wrong, anyways I think imma pic one off.
It was harsh doing it but I removed one of the little buds. To c if there was pollen inside... Ok confirmed no pollen inside.... unless it is invisible. the sac was like 1 mm in diametre if that, i left the piece of foliage that grew beside against it on th e plant.. You can see that in the pic 3rd branch down. That is what I pulled off leaving the spear on the plant.

Hmm in that first picture can someone put a red circle around the "balls"? I've looked and I've looked but I can't see anything! lol.
Well... in when the picture first loaded up, you can see female hairs on the second branch but at the internode of the second branch looks to be male balls making your plant a "male" hermi I'd assume
I don't see anything resembling balls though!
I don't see ANY pistils on the OPs pics. I see a couple strands of carpet-lint or something, but no pistils.
The balls aren't fully formed in those shots; they can be seen just emerging in small clusters at the nodes. Only male sex parts first appear in clusters. Female sex parts first appear singly or in pairs, at most.
I have now surgicly removed another ball, exept this ball and a ball growing on it, a stick with a ball on a ball... I killed it and nothing came out, just green..... The pistils are progressing like a crazy diseas but just another internode down. BALLS. Or, could they be buds forming, i thought you need pistils to form bud.
by the way some pistils are almost half an inch long, it is11 days into flowering, and there are still little balls growing, they are getting bigger very very slowly but contain nothing, how long does it take untill they start to mature, further more, how long untill it is t oo late, because if I found pollen in any of them I would remove them all but I keep finding nothing in them.
Pistils come out of female balls- calyxes- that are different from male balls, which grow on a little stalk and have no hairs, and flop over right before they open and release pollen. The pollen isn't ripe or even visible to the naked eye until this time.
Is there a good sticky on telling apart males and females complete with pictures that include things circled in red anywhere on here? Perhaps we could make this thread into that sitcky? Pleeeeeeze Stinky!
I took the time to point out the "male balls" and "female hairs"
[attachment=o171168]
^^true it does have both genders, it looks to be male dominant tho...When you get male hairs there out from the sack but in this situation the male flowers too young too show hairs but you do see the male sack but hairs show on the male flower when there close to opening..But thats my opinion, hope i didnt confuse anyone lol :stoned:
I wonder what that thing is on the internode below the balls circled??? That is what my none hair preflowers look like.
by the way thanks stinky, that helps.
What you are pointing at as a hair isn't a pistil. It looks like some lint or something.
The spikes are called 'stipules', and both genders exhibit them.
I'm attaching a helpful diagram to tell the sexes apart. I completely forgot where the pic came from- I think another member posted it a while back.
overgrow.com  am i gonna get banned for saying another name? lol Ya kno since we can't say shit else on this site....
Thats a diagram of a dominant female, He has the opposite problem, He has a male plant with female pistils and im sorry Ms.Attic, that is not lint...Nice picture tho, its def classic but from my understanding thats a picture of a female dominant plant....But Stinkys "Always Right"......but are you really right?
I removed all balls I could find, no pollen i think but th ebuds on top are forming a bit.
They won't stop forming. It is what it is. Hermie.
Ga Grown!
 yup
