i just recently finished radation from having hodgkins lyphoma..
and i have almost no appetite what so ever
the only way i eat is when i have the muchies from smoking
im just wondering if my appetite will come back
or this will cause an eating disorder

Don't worry. In time your appetite will come back, but remember, you are still recovering. I never experienced radiation. Keep smoking, it'll make you feel better, and eat.
I had hodgekins lymphoma too!!!!!! Ive been in remission though for 3 years. And I had both chemo and radiation. I smoked pot to get hungry and to take away the pains. It worked for me. And don't worry hun. It WILL go away after your done with everything!
yea its been like two weeks since radation was done
chemo was horrible compared to radation...noone should ever have to go through it
everythings done now and slowly i feel things going back to normal so im happy about that
and i just got the scan after radation and everything is clean so i can finnaly get that port removed
i was just worried because now im really noticing that im losing alot of weight...im not really upset about that but i was afraid it would cause some kinda other illness
and yea rebgirl i read somewere else that you had it and i was like omg me to

i also had chemo and radiation...for cervical cancer....
i really think everyone experiences different things from treatment, and their bodies rebuild very differently...for me, it was about 4 months before i got "back to normal"...i know others that have never gotten back to normal....
i hope things get better for you...
Yeah I lost 40 pounds even when they gave me steroids! Yeah I still have my port scar AND my port in a little baggy! They had to give my port above my left boob because they couldnt put it anywhere else b/c I had too much breast tissue sooo now I have this ugly pink scar haha. Oh well. Im glad I got it, it made me who I am today. Did your hair fall out? Mine did and the make-a-wish bought me a great wig. My hairs fine though now, as you see in my avator. Make-a-wish did all sorts of cool shit for me haha
yea in the past week and a half iv lost 10 pounds but i was still eating normaly all through chemo..i thaught it should be th other way around
haha yea i have the pink scar and even after they remove it its still gonna be there..oh well haha
yea my hair did fall out...that was the worst part of everything b/c i had really straight long hair and i loved it and it like completed me lol
it already started growing back like a month ago so thats all good right now
i just got a make a wish hopping spree last saturday
lots of good stuff from bestbuy lol
i couldnt really think of anything else i couldnt wanted from them

hahaha yeah its so cool to know someone else who's had it. But yeah make-a-wish sent me to New York, gave me a limo, put me in the pent house sweet at the Hilton, THEN I got to meet Colin Quinn (I have a huge crush on him) on his old show Tough Crowd. He hit on me too haha. Then we sat around the set and hung out, with Jim Norton too. Then Comedy Central gave me a HUGE bag of stuff from their shows like south park stuff and autographs and Jon Stewart stuff. THEN he invited me as his date to Last Comic Standing and it was bad ass. AND on top of THAT I got a shopping spree. It was awsome! PLUS we still talk today through email. It was amazing!
haha i wish i was somewhat smart and didnt react like "uhh..i dunno...i guess like uhh...SHOPPING SPREE!!"
i got a ps3, 9 games, ALOT of cds, new phone, mini fridge haha(i hate going downstairs to get a drink with a pasion) an ipod dock station thing, new really nice digital camera aand some other things
everything in total was like over $3500 worth of stuff
but yeah it was extermley fun i got a limo to and after we got all the stuff we ate at this chinese food place and they cooked in front of us..it was really cool and tasted really REALLY good

I was in lockup and I had a small bump on my neck so I get it biopsied. Well it ended up being a HUGE tumor that went through the middle of my body down to my belly button. I was a stage 3.

hodgkins disease can sometimes bring on nyfrotic syndrome..which makes every place in your body retain water..and swwell up extremely badly
i had that and couldnt walk for almost a month
after that was done i got a radom chest x-ray and it showed something, i had to get a biopsied but they ended up removing it
i had stage 1 but they moved it to 2 b/c i was already being treated with prednisone(steriod) to cure the nyfrotic syndrome
you were in lockup?
They couldnt get mine with surgery. And yeah I was in lockup for 2 years. As a kid I got in alot of trouble but cancer cured me of it haha. Suddenly your priorities come to order when your a kid with cancer haha.
haha iv been in alot of trouble with the law,school and just about everyone around me
i cant really say cancer cured it...but other drugs kinda got me think alot diffrentley now... well cancer kinda showed me that life isnt all just fun with no worries like how i used to be before

haha yup it makes me happy lol :)
well... im not a hodgkins survivor,
but i know the pain of chemo and raditiation (esophogeal cancer + one massive tumor hell bent on blowing up my bronchial tubes)
and smoking helped me get my appitite like nothing else.... when i left the hospital i weighed a whopping 99ilbs from my normal 120+
im now steady at 110 and i dont use weed to eat any more, without noticing, i just started to hungry randomly.... though i still smoke, cause i dont know about you but all the Cdrugs make me feeel subhuman.... weed brings me back to earth and really really makes my body happy, you know?
Reb- how long did your hair take to get long?
i feel so lost w.o my long hair! till that point, it was never cut above my shoulders.... now its up at my ears :[
After chemo, my hair grew back curly, soft and a lighter shade than it was before. Can't say I am disappointed by that aspect!Quote:
